"Oh, uhm," Lily says, then fixes her hair by tucking it behind her ear. "I was about to ask you the exact same question. Did you need anything?"
Lily takes a moment to look over the other woman again, taking in her appearance. It wasn't often when people stared at her out of the blue, so she wasn't sure to take it as a compliment or if she should take up a guard stance. It's been nearly 5 years though since the incident, so she's learned to ease off on the paranoia. That didn't mean she shouldn't still take martial arts classes twice a week however.
She shakes her head and brings her thoughts to the present. "I saw you staring at us from afar, I was just wondering if you wanted to ask a question or talk or anything. You seemed rather lonely here by yourself."
LunaticKnight: Can I get a description of Charlotte please? :D
Elsie crosses her arms loosely, stepping out to the side beside Lily kind of protectively. She dosen't do anything right now but really looks the part of a bodyguard, despite doing her best to look casual.

"Me? Nothing. I just people watch sometimes. I'm an actor," Charlotte added, only half-lying. She had been in a few high school theatre productions, but never as a major role. {If needed, Deception: 8 ] Of course, those days were very far behind her. "As for my lonesomeness, my friends kind of ditched me after making me come all the way out here. Well, sort of. They're going to be late enough that if I went back home, I'd have to turn right back around." Charlotte shrugged, acting as casual as she could. A brief description of Charlotte would come down to the word "average." Her dark hair was cut down to just below her shoulders, with her light blue eyes giving the only hint of her Norwegian heritage. She was wearing a light blue shirt, covered by a something akin to a vest to conceal her usual gear. As always, she wore men's jeans- Pockets are important. Her shoes were also on the cheap end, but it wasn't like she wore them outside often. They looked relatively new, despite having been purchased nearly two years ago.
Weird people and their obsession with pockets, Lily thinks to herself as she casually looks Charlotte over. Moving around with things jamming up against your legs was uncomfortable anyways, and overrated. It's why she always brought a backpack or a sling bag wherever she went. Things were just more convenient and more comfortable when you stored all of your things away from your person.
"People watching?" Lily asks, then chuckles and laces her hands behind her back. "That's nice. I can respect that. I don't like doing it myself because I'm always afraid people would catch me staring at them."
"That, and I have a bad history when it comes to people watching me." She gives a sheepish smile and that was the end of that. "If you're waiting for your friends then, do you want to join us? We're just going to go get something to eat and drink."
Elsie's eyes brighten as she spreads her arms wide and lets them fall against her hips in a gesture of satisfaction.
"Well, it's good to meet you, and have a little company,"she says, with a smile on her face, extending a hand. "I'm Elsie."
She turns to the side, tilting her head towards Lily like only old friends introduce each other. "And that's Lily." Elsie nudges the aforementioned girl in the shoulder, chuckling, shooting a wry grin at Charlotte. Her defensive stance relaxes. She shifts the sling bag on her shoulder to make a motion towards walking, letting her hand fall to her hip pocket again.

Charlotte shook Elsie's hand, relieved that the two weren't annoyed. However, their friendliness was a little overwhelming- though Charlotte was willing to overlook that in favor of some company. "Charlotte. I wouldn't mind hanging around with you two for a bit, if that's really alright. My friends aren't due to be here for half an hour or so." Charlotte attempted to relax, but her natural wariness wouldn't allow her to let her guard down. They seem nice enough, she thought as she walked slightly behind Elsie and Lily. Hopefully they're as nice as they seem.
Charlotte can tell that Elsie's friendliness isn't really a result of being ultra ultra friendly, it's that she's afraid of Lily being cold and she thinks, and is desperately hoping, that the company will help her loosen up.
"It's fine with me,"she says, glancing almost with a little trepidation towards Lily.

"Yeah, of course," Lily smiles to Charlotte and shakes a hand herself. She chuckles softly as Elsie looks at her and turns away, fighting the blush rising to her cheeks. Even after all of these years, she thinks to herself, she still feels safe around her. Then again, they did share a lot of time together.
"There's a cafe nearby that I've been meaning to try, just a ways from the fairgrounds. I've heard they had the best creamy tomato soups and chicken pot pie around," she says with a sigh, her mouth watering at the mere thought of it. "Best part, they have an outdoor area, and it's located right next to the free concert for the fair."
"I wasn't planning on going since I was alone, but..." her words trail off as she looks at the two girls. "I... suppose now would be a good a time as ever."
Charlotte nodded as she thought about it. "It doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'm alright with that," she replied, shifting to a more ready stance. I guess they're a little nervous as well, she thought, noting that Elsie was more than happy to have Charlotte along as company. Though I can't tell if it's because of me or because of either of them.
"Awesome! Glad to have you," Lily smiles back to her. "Let's get going then!"
Lily leads the trio up the fairgrounds to the city, then down a single street. In a large, modern-looking building that could pass as an office building, a large sign front reads "Decan's Delights". Through the dark windows reveals a warm, homey atmosphere, with several tables and a bar to the western side. Out front is a fenced-off area with comfortable straw chairs with fabric cushions and stained wood tables.
She takes a seat at one of the tables, orders herself a tomato soup and a lasagna with a bottle of wine. Lily then looks towards the other two. "So have you two been in the city often? I know Elsie has, given we grew up here," she chuckles.
All good man! We're still hanging out and getting to know each other, so there are no worries.
Charlotte shook her head as she took a seat across from Lily. "I moved here for school. I'm originally from Missouri, if that means anything." Charlotte carefully studied the menu before settling on a club sandwich, with only water to drink. Trying to shuffle the conversation along, Charlotte coughed before saying, "So you two grew up together? I thought you seemed close."
Rhodri and Brady hear multiple loud crashes ring through the air, reminiscent of glass shattering, followed by a scream. (For those at the café, I'll let you decide on whether or not you're close enough to hear it. From what I can tell from how Toothless is describing it, you probably can't so nbd. Continue on as usual in that case, and I'll have something for you momentarily -- i.e. after I know what the other two are doing.)
The noises seem to be coming from the house of mirrors attraction on the fairgrounds. There are a bundle of people heading away from it, some going towards it, and others who seemingly don't care as they look over and then continue about their day.
"Yeah, we did. Went to the same school. Haven't seen each other in a while, though."Elsie leaves her finger somewhere on the menu. "Missouri, you say? What do you think about this place, so far?" Her question seems poised to draw the conversation away from the topic of them. However, she looks around the place with an air of eased familiarity, leaning back in the chair, balancing it on two legs as she smiles easily on the outside, her eyes still slightly troubled to the keen observer.
A steak and a soda are her very common, hearty choices.

Brady was startled by the sound of the glass shattering, he watched the people fleeing the house of mirrors. "Someone could be hurt..." he said to Rhodri as he took off in a sprint towards the sounds. He kept his eyes peeled as he ran for any indications of injury, or what sort of event had just happened. 'It's just like riding a bike they say' he thought to himself.
As you arrive at the house of mirrors, the attraction's attendant is nowhere to be found, and the door open into what appears to be a dark building. There is a small gathering around it with lots of speculation as to what happened, as well as people peering in saying they do not believe they see any broken glass, so what was that noise? You notice a woman with brown hair shivering with her coat wrapped around her on a nearby bench. She has a panicked expression on her face. After half a minute, a man dressed in a staff uniform exits the building and goes to address her.
He says to her in an annoyed tone, "Is this your idea of a joke ma'am? There's a loud noise and you run out screaming, driving lots of people away. You claim to me that you noticed something following you in the mirrors, and then the lights went out and all the mirrors shattered. While the lights are indeed out, and I'm not sure how you managed that as the switch isn't even working anymore, all the mirrors are completely intact. I went through the building, and there is nobody there."
"B-b-but, I'm not joking. Mark and I were- oh god, where's Mark? He was with me in there but didn't come out. I have to go find him!" She jumps up with a start, but is blocked by the man.
"Hold on there; I can't let anyone in when the lights are off, it's a safety hazard. Maybe your friend was the one that pulled this prank and is hiding in there. Either way, I'm going to need to let the police sort this out."
"He wouldn't! I mean, he does like playing around, but he wouldn't ever do something like this. I'm telling you, it was real!"
"Uh-huh. Right. Tell that to the police." The man walks away back towards the door, leaving the woman alone, stunned into silence.
(You can make an Insight check if you would like. Make only one check, then open all spoilers that apply.)
Insight 10
The woman's words do not bear any contradictions, and her actions looked natural. You believe that she is either a very good actress or she is telling the truth.
Insight 15
The way she spoke and was concerned about Mark indicates that they may be more than just friends.
"Mhmm,"Lily smiles back to Charlotte, then fixes her hair behind her ear. "We grew up here together, spent a lot of years covering each other's backs. It's pretty much mandatory though, seeing how much of a jungle high school is." She giggles and rolls her eyes over.
"I've never been to Missouri, how is it over there?" she gasps. "I've had a couple friends who came from there, but they never really talked about it. Said there wasn't much to talk about or whatever, but I disagree." Lily looks over toward Elsie as she scans around, searching the place. She too turns to look around, but she doesn't hear or see anything at the present moment. Maybe it was just the tense atmosphere getting to her, she thinks to herself.
DM: I want to give Brady and Rhodri some time to RP with each other / the plotline, since the trio of girls have RPed a ton. When you're ready to bring us over though, have some civilians come by running away from the House of Glass, and we'll ask them, figure out what's going on, and head over there ASAP.
