Ian calls out to Akai, “Hey, friend, what’s the matter? We missed your pyrotechnics up there. I almost got dissolved by an ooze!”
"Yes... ooze... great threat..." Akai gives a cursory response while keeping his attention focused on the fresco. "Krrr... Akai knows fine battle when he sees it..." The diminutive pyromaniac is uncharacteristically subdued as he continues to admire the artwork.
Careful to keep his words from reaching to fresco gawkers, Falshen whispers to Ian, "If there is some form of curse or enchantment on the fresco, perhaps breaking it would release their minds. That, or drive them into a murderous rage directed toward any who helped in the destruction."
Before anyone has time to react, Ian's dagger sings through the air, burying itself hilt-deep into the fresco on the wall. With a *CRACK* deep lines spiderweb across the painting, fragmenting the ancient image.
Akai and Irma both shiver, both experiencing a brief spasm of rage which is replaced by confusion, and then by clarity, and find they are in complete control of themselves.

"Something unnatural is at work here..." Falshen mutters to himself.
Ian waltzes up closer to Akai hanging back 15 feet or so and calls out again,
”Hey Akai, can you, umm, turn around, maybe? You’re starting to worry me. That artwork sure seems to have your attention.”
Irma stands still and turns to face the fresco. His shoulders relax and the warhammer slacks in his hands. "Yes...the fresco" Irma mutters.
Ian perturbed by his companions actions looks over at Falshen and says,
“I have no idea what’s going on, but something is wrong with Akai and now Irma too. What should we do?”
"Krr... no worry... just fine scene of battle..." the kobold dismisses his companion's concern and continues his admiration.
Careful to keep his words from reaching to fresco gawkers, Falshen whispers to Ian, "If there is some form of curse or enchantment on the fresco, perhaps breaking it would release their minds. That, or drive them into a murderous rage directed toward any who helped in the destruction."
Stealth check: 13
At Falshen’s recommendation, and out of ideas, Ian takes his dagger and throws it at the fresco to try and break it.

Akai and Irma both shiver, both experiencing a brief spasm of rage which is replaced by confusion, and then by clarity, and find they are in complete control of themselves.
Ian asks,
”Akai! Irma! Are you senses returned?”
If his companions indicate they are good, Ian will cautiously head over to the fresco and retrieve his dagger
"Krrr! Akai is fine! No need for worry! Only... distracted is all!" the kobold snorts, eager to save face.
Falshen looks - cautiously - at the damaged fresco, hoping to find an explanation for his companions' fascination, something of value, or both.
