Backstory: Garrock was born in the slums of Blackport. It all snapped when he was in early adolescence, saw a lady who looked very familiar in clothes that fit, clean and shopping for food; his mother who promised to come back after leaving him one side many moons ago. Desperate, he called to her and went for a hug he longed for, only to be fought off. Again he tried; she has to remember. The woman kicked him to ground saying she had no son, some came to help the lady being attacked by some rat of a monstrous child from the streets. Garrok cried and ran til he couldn't; the crying he still had plenty left. The bullies heard. In the alley usual shoving started, thrown to the ground, Garrok saw a broken bottle... With a cry he grabbed it and it started. With bigger bully left in a bloody heap, the other boys ran never to return. The sole witness spoke up, threatened Garrok to follow. The Witness told Garrok he was a killer now, and he would continue to so for food and shelter. Garrok resisted, but the Witness was always stronger and faster. In a forgotten attic, the Witness taught Garrok killing and all its many ways through deception and opportunity. The Witness failed to come back after one excursion, for week. Taking what he needed for his skills, Garrok left, only to seen another half-orc child getting bullied on the streets. It was the Garrok decided it was enough. The bullies were scattered, and the boy thanked Garrok for help and for the coin. Garrok took to streets to put a stop to people living like this...
Personality: The Half-Orc is blunt, and can come across as rude, but only with words. His aggression is kept in check, until necessary.
Description: Grey-green skin, buzzcut, dark hair, coal eyes, 5'10", 175 lbs, wears black leathers which neither new or looked well after. Most of his equipment is concealed, except for a shortsword on the hip.
Starting Town: The Cardinal Ports - Blackport
Beginning acts: In need of coin, Garrok looks to be a blade for hire. He is soon to hear of the Tower and looks to get info and prepare to get a way in...
Kita responds to the Corvidaen Caretaker, “Well met milady. I may yet be interested in the Tower, aye. I’ve heard many a wonderful tale about it and came here from the south to see if the tales did it justice. So far it is even more impressive in the flesh than in the stories. But I have yet to venture inside. What can you tell me about it that is more fact than legend?”
Kita is dressed in the traditional lacquered armour of her homeland. Hers is dyed scarlet showing her to be from the Niten clan of warriors. At her side she carries the traditional crossed long and short swords, the daisho, which translates roughly to ‘big and small’. A traveller who knows of this clan and their style knows that they are trained in fighting with both blades at once, a formidable combination. ((OOC these are in game terms a rapier and short sword which she can wield due to her Duel Wielder feat, using her Dex)). Her hair is black as is common in her homeland. It is grown long and pulled up into a warrior’s topknot. She is lithe and light. It is clear to anyone studying her that her combat style will be based on skill, speed and agility, not raw power.
((OOC @Pito: if the samurai you have seen near the Tower is in fact Kita, she is a woman, not a man 😊. If it is a different samurai I am keen to meet him!))
Pito: As you walk and keep an eye on the samurai, you notice them get stopped by a sharply dressed woman holding a bag of posters. The samurai begins to question the woman about the tower. "What can you tell me about it that is more fact than legend?" she asks As a bard, you know quite a bit about the legends of the tower, but your not sure how much that deviates from fact., you might have to check the history on that one. The well dressed woman begins to answer the question. (Read Kita's text)
Kita: The caretaker responsed "Oh yes, The Old Tree is very impressive, to be sure, but above all it is dangerous, very dangerous! You'll need more than just martial prowess...luck, cunning, and magic are all extremely necessary. But, why take such a risk, when you can do something far, far better and safer instead!" The woman pulls a poster from her pouch, which reveals a large advertisment for a festival going on in Corvidae. It seems she has a particular goal in mind for adventurers that come past here, but that doesn't mean she might not know more.
Halyseris: You see the paladin approach the man in the white coat, and he introduces himself. "Greetings in the name of Ilmater. I am Zacharias, newly missioned here in Resolve as a servant to the poor." (Read Zachrias text)
Zacharias: The man doesn't seem to respond at first, for what seems like a solid minute, just going over the man. "Well Zachrias, do you mind giving me a hand here? This man says he has some pain, on his left side, but he can't tell where it is coming from. I'm usually better at this, but I can't find out either."
Miyra: As you walk towards The Tower, you see a variety of goods being sold at an open bazzar, with some adventurers perusing them. Some it looks like somewhat usuable weaponry, others claim to have magic items, but your not sure how honest their claims are. Others appear to be selling junk: fragments of bricks, pieces of metal, or things people might find collectable like buttons, keys, & dolls. There are some services too, mostly dirt cheap lodging and those trying to appeal to the superstitious, those with gambling addictions, or both. You notice heated discussion going on between a sharply dressed man carrying a bag of posters around and a tall red dragonborn. The Tower's entrance is not much farther from here.
Blackport:
Leshanna: As you take a slow, careful look at the man, you note the following: He is fat, has a thick white beard, and when you look closely, there are scars, if faded, on every area of open skin. He has one of those weapons that Black Dragon's carry on his hip, but there is something about this one that seems different, at least visually it is more ornate. With a quick glance around the room, you notice some patrons give an almost impressed chuckle as you approach the table, but the bartender is the only one who keeps one eye on the conversation, and you've noticed the fat man exchange glances with him.
"Ho ho! Yes, good to see you! Please, have a seat!" he says, he somewhat serious expression turning almost jolly "I was wondering if you were interested in a job that would suit your area of expertise? I've heard a bit of your past expirence, you handled that goblin thief I hear. Mr. Slippery is what we called him."
Garrok: You're on your toes walking through the streets of blackport, you are expecting a message about a new job soon. As you are walking, you notice somone following you, but by now, you haven't gotten a good look at them. If it's what you hope, than it should be a Courier, but you can never know in this town. What do you do?
Corvidae:
Lars: You notice that a blond, well dressed human man, wearing what seems to be a suit vest, has been helping people answer very simalir questions. He is wearing a golden feather pin, meaning that he is a cartaker, but also has another small pin, and in his breast pocket there appears to be a deck of cards sticking out. You decide to ask him about sponsership, leaving the scam part out obviously. "Oh yes, certainly, while no sponsership is absolutely necessary, it certainly gives you quite the advantage, so most consider it a requirement. Especially for the tournament to determine this years champion."
Faksimile:
Ulrich: You've finally reached enough prestige as a cleric to be recognized to go on missions. However, you didn't expect to be hearing about one so soon. You are currently in a meeting room at Grand Abode, the large church at the center of the towns religous district. Several other members are their as well. You are expecting the Archbishop to be here at any moment.
Greenport - Lush Mountains:
Noldeme: You make a good pace, heading up the mountain carefully. You go at a fairly slow pace to remain stealthy, so you don't get too far up after an hour, but it's good progress. It's relatively clear, but near the end of the first hour, you see a lone boar come near your location, before it suddenly stops, making threatning squeals, before turning and charging-in a completely different direction into the woods! Your not sure what it was, but it seemed to go chasing after something.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Instinctively, at having the first sight of the angry boar, Noldeme reaches for her stone pouch and casts Magic Stone at three of the rocks she picks from there. Then, with her eyes locked on it as it runs in another direction, she stops from using it for now and instead follows it to see where the boar is going. Her pace is quicker than before, but she still tries to keep an eye on the lookout for danger, and what possibly may be the boar's focus of attention.
Noldeme: As you keep pace after the boar, you manage to get their just in time to see the boar seemingly fling it's tusks at the empty air. However, as it does, it's tusks seem to break on something not there! Appearing out of thin air is a tiny, red skinned creature, which starts retaliating against the boar. The red creature begins shrieking, and you sense that something else might be coming this way! Roll for intiative!
Halyseris watches quietly while slowly lower his hand away from his dagger. In all honestly he did not need it but it would draw a lot less attention then if he was to suddenly blast someone with his magic.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Noldeme is surprised after seeing so many occurrences one after the other. From the boar knowing the position and hitting an invisible red thing, from the fact that the two wouldn't be the only thing she's fighting, she retreats one step backward and places her hand back on her pouch as she prepares for combat. "Any idea what all of this nonsense is?" She'd say, in quiet anger, hoping to hear something back from her patron.

Greenport - Lush Mountains:
Noldeme: "An imp, they are here for a reason...perhaps they seek the same thing we seek..."
Boar Intiative: 13
Imp Initiative: 20
The Imp lashes out at the boar that pinned it to the ground 12 , but it cannot pierce it's thick hide with it's stinger. You sense the leaves in nearby trees start to shake, but you don't see anything there.
"Sure, but what about that other thing..." Noldeme says, hoping her patron can understand that she's referring to the rustling of leaves around the location. But, as she says that, she picks one of the rocks she had enchanted beforehand and aims it at the head of the Imp, her throw being incredibly more focused and strong than it normally would if it had only the push of her physical strength behind it.

Greenport - Lush Mountains:
Noldeme: "I doubt whatever sent that thing her sent it alone" With a flick of the rest, you send the stone rocketing into the imps forehead, and it stop stuggling against the boar. "They can turn invisible at will, and shapeshift into certain beasts, be on you guard!"
The boar stands on it's guard, facing towards you. Suddenly, from the trees two ravens swoop down at you screeching and cawing! The boar rushes to interpose itself between you and one of the the ravens 11.
It thwacks it with the broadside of it's tusk, dealing 5 points of damage, but the raven seems to be exceptionally strong!
The Ravens attack the boar Attack: 11 Damage: 7 as well as you Attack: 13 Damage: 5, pecking furiously!
However, not furiously enough it seems, as their attacks are easily warded off, but their beaks seem unusually sharp.
'Resolve':
Halyseris: You wait and see how this conversation will go down, you shouldn't draw much attention otherwise. You notice breifly, after the coated man's spectacles flare momentarily, he lays eyes on you. It seems he knows you've been following him, or at least that you're here now eavesdropping. However, he seems to be ignoring you and continuing to converse with Zacharias.
OOC:
Pertuie: not entirely sure what your AC is, but I'm sure that doesn't hit.
Pito sees the Samurai (Kita) talking to the woman and sidles up next to her. “She’s right you know. A team is a must, and a team of extraordinary talent.” Pito gives a smile and half bow. “I just so happen to have extraordinary talent. My name is Pito and if this woman is offering work of a somewhat less risky variety, I might very much enjoy testing out a partnership...?”
(Oh, you can access my character sheet by clicking on Noldeme's name whenever you see it's blue. That's a link that goes directly to everything you need to know about her, I'm placing it in almost all of my posts, the way I said I'd do at the start. The AC is 12, being base 11 AC thanks to her leather armor, and with her +1 dexterity modifier, it makes the total 12. She also has the spell Shield prepared, but she won't need to use it this time around.)
Noldeme, at first, looks confused at the boar, its aid was welcome but intriguing, seeing as she assumed it to be nothing but a wild beast. Her reflexes weren't something she had proud on, but seeing the raven flying in her direction, she spots its predictable movement and dodges out of the way. (I'm assuming it's already her turn now.)
Then, the Aasimar decides to try to finish the creature that tried to attack her. She raises her hand towards it, cursing it with the Hexblade's Curse (bonus action). Then, she pulls out a handaxe, enhanced by the powers bestowed by her patron, and uses it to try to carve on the nearest raven's body.

Zacharias immediately begins checking the man's left side.

Not feeling like he's not helping much, Zacharias offers, "I could heal him a little. I'm not a strong healer, but Ilmater does work through me a little."
If the man agrees, Zacharias will heal the man with the hurt side for 5 hp.

His finger runs over the skeletal hand on his medallion as they wait. He catches a whisper hear and there, wondering if it was his ability or his family's money that led to this day.

Pito: You quickly move to the samurai and make your move. The woman with the posters seems somewhat ticked about being interupped, but is glad about your stance on the matter. "Oh yes, you know, we are looking for talent of all sorts. Here, you should take one as well!" She holds on one of the posters in her other hand towards you as well. "Cooperation can get you a long way!"
Zacharias: You offer to heal the man, who looks at the spectacled man for reassurance, and he gives you the go ahead. You only need to heal him for 1 hp, and he says the pain is gone. "Well, your analysis skills need some polishing, but you are very kind to spare some magic. We don't get clerics exceptionally often, rarer still are ones willing to work cheaply, let alone free." He extends his and to you. "My name is Dr. Winter, by the way, nice to meet you. What brings you to Resolve?"
Myria: Your not exactly sure what the argument started about, but you stay on the tail end of things. "I swear, I'll be just a bit longer, and besides..." he goes to a whisper, but you manage to hear him "...you don't really want anyone climbing The Tower either do you?" The red dragonborn is taken aback, and seems angry. "Listen, what we do here is our buisness, I don't care what you've heard with your snooping around, nobody wants you here. Now, are we going to do this the easy way, or the hard way?" the dragonborn reaches for a battleaxe strapped to their back, almost as large as they are, and brandishes it intimidatingly. The man swallows hard as he looks on in fear. What do you do?
Blackport - The Shady Lamppost:
Leshanna: "Well more you shall here, then." he continues. He leans, speaking a bit softer. "You see, there's a particular job I need to get done, but I need to tread carefully, and I can't send any of my own men. So just so you know, if anyone asks, I didn't send you.
There's a member of another gang that has been stirring up trouble recently. The gang itself, known as Snakebiter, has popped up recently, and is very good at covering their tracks in their actions against us. His name is Rattles, he's a pale looking half-elf, but he's got a strange quirk or something, so when he moves around his left hand, it, well rattles. The issue being, though, is we've had no clue where this gangs hideout is, but we have tracked down Rattles. We've seen him go into the nearby swamp, quite frequently, so he must be doing something there, which could very well be the hideout, but intel tells us it might be something else. I need you to go into the swamp, figure out what's there, and intercept Rattles and bring him back alive for information. Be aware that he probably knows the area better than you do. Any questions?"

Ulrich: You wait patiently, listening to the whispers as best you can, you hear someone speak badly about the Archbishop, something about nor wanting to take orders from her, which you aren't surprised by. You do catch a couple of stray glances at you, but it seems if they were talking bad about you, they are being extra hushed about it. You can make a perception check and try to listen to something specific, or ignore them for a just bit longer until the Archbishop arrives.
Greenport - Lush Mountain:
Noldeme: You swing deflty at the curse creature, the axeblade slalms firmly into it, almost like hitting a tree! You felt like the force behind you blow should have killed it, but it is still attacking madly, ichor pouring from where you've wounded it. ((Give me a bit to roll for the other creatures))

Attack: 13 Damage: 7
The Raven stabs at you neck with it's beak, and the wound begins to burn like fire is running through your veins, make a constituion saving throw!
The boar is impaled by the beak as well 14 as you see black poison dripping from it's gash 5 it's on it's last limbs, but it's relentlessly stands it grounds, using that last life in it to strike back!
It ignores the raven attacking, and attacks the one on you instead! 13
The tusks slams down into the raven from behind, so it got advantage! 5
The Raven is knocked away from you, suddely transforming into another red skinned creature with leathery wings, melting into a puddle of ichor!

Medicine: 8
Not feeling like he's not helping much, Zacharias offers, "I could heal him a little. I'm not a strong healer, but Ilmater does work through me a little."
If the man agrees, Zacharias will heal the man with the hurt side for 5 hp.
Miyra stands still for a moment to address what's happening with the group of people juggling posters about and chatting. Unsure of how to approach them she lingers a bit, acting confused on where to go but making it a point to listen in on them.
Perception: 3
Ulrich
His finger runs over the skeletal hand on his medallion as they wait. He catches a whisper hear and there, wondering if it was his ability or his family's money that led to this day.
Let them think what they will. To be away from them will be reward and reason enough to make this journey.
'Resolve'
Faksimile- Grand Abode Meeting Room
