Feeling the odd sensation, Aradurk exhales slowly, then draws in a breath and closes his eyes. He recalls the feeling of moving about the dock in the training course, his practice playing like a montage in his mind, complete with bad 80's music.
Opening his eyes, he straightens, lets out the breath, and grins. "Let's go to town."

The party rows toward the sighted landmark until the light fades, and then continues in its direction for another hour or two, until night falls, forcing rest.
As the sun rises again the next morning for another chilly but sunny day, the landmark is now closer. You can see from this distance that it is a statue of some kind, likely between twenty and thirty feet tall, but strangely, as the oars are taken up for another day of rowing, the statue gets no closer. The sun now towers high in sky, but the statue remains the same distance away.
“Could be, but we aren’t making any gains towards it. Some sort of magic..... maybe if we don’t look at it? If that doesn’t work I can always try to teleport us there. Wes says as he is scratching his head.
In a moment, as those above deck glance over to Wes, then back toward the distant statue, it is still hundreds of feet away, but is unmistakably closer than it was just moments ago. At this distance, you can now see that it resembles something amphibian in nature.
Wes snaps Petunia away in her realm “Need to keep you safe girl...”. He grabs his wand and readies himself. “Well I guess if we go investigate what it is, we just look away for a moment.” As his eyes are locked on the amphibian creature... willing to close them when the others look away.

Hox, Rycider and Wes close their eyes, Maverick still moving toward the statue at a steady pace as the rowers work their familiar oars. Then, impact; the boat crunches off of the side of the statue, forcing the trio's eyes back open. The imposing creation now stands before you, twenty feet tall, only a few feet away from the side of the boat.
The statue is indeed of some amphibian humanoid, possibly a bullywug, but up close you can now see its pained expression. It is covered with etchings of eyes from top to bottom, and amongst these are two other scratched images; one a strange, intricately detailed feminine figure with flowing robes, the other a horrible figure, some hybrid of an ape and snake, with two baboon heads filled with fangs.
Gruun comes charging out from below deck with his Greataxe in hand, he glares quickly around before lowering his Greataxe. He begins studying the statue and scratches his head. "I hope one of you know what this is suppose to mean."

"About time" Gruun continues rowing with renewed vigor at the thought of being back on open ground.

Tanakir peers at the statue in the distance, "Seems a bit odd. Could that be the Shrine that the message mentioned?"
"Should Hox fly to? Does not seem far, but ship does not look close."

Killian is below decks, still rowing? So she can't see the statue anyway.
ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
OOC: Got it, just want to make sure those who can see this thing are on board with the plan before I resolve that.

Gruun is the same. He's staying out of the way of this magic stuff and waiting for something he can deal with.
As Rycinder strums, she slowly closes her eyes.
Hox goes prone and puts his claws over his eyes. "Hox no see. Hox not know."

Having run “aground” as best she can tell, Killian will ship her oar(s) and come topside to stare at the statue.
