Keeping his bow notched, Atal creeps slowly into the room to hide in the shadows there.
He moves further in opposite to the movement in the cell along the edge of the cage in the center of the room, trying to determine what he can see in the darkness making that noise.
From where Atal moves to, the benefit of his elven dark vision allowed him to see two figures step from the shadows of the western corridor. The shambling and slow movements, the full hooded robes obscuring the face, they were identical to the other two that the rest of the part were currently battling.
The only thing Atal couldn’t make out was any detail on what was coming up with them. There was further movement behind them in the corridor. These ones were not alone.
With the other cloaked figure down and Uthal in between them, Anearis decided to move back to the room where the goliath was being held. He remembered that there was another passage they had not explored yet. This could be a way out.

With Sir Ander’s blow to the figure’s shoulder, it not only severed the arm, but also knocked the creature back to the ground. This time however the creature did not rise. Both zombie figures have been successfully dispatched.
The flaming oil has since gone out, and a caltrop or two is on the hallway floor, likely dragged in from the heavy robes. The door through which these creatures came, at the end of the corridor, is slightly ajar, but nothing can be seen from this point
Atal slinks back down the way he came, hoping to run into the others and stop them before they go charging into the room - and potentially alerting the two figures he saw to their presence.
"Shh," he says to the first person he meets, likely Anearis: "Two more down that way. I'm not sure if they're aggressive or not, but they have something else with them. Something I bet we don't want to meet."
"Stay down cursed thing." Uthal takes a step back from the bodies on the floor. "Do we go forward or try up the stairs? You, dandy, and you thief, what is that way now that these things are dead?" He points down that hall where they came from.

"Well I think the first thing all of you should do is try to hide,"Atal whispers furiously, sweating a little. "Whatever those zombies are, they're coming this way, and something is with them. If we're hiding, if they turn hostile at least we can get the jump on them. Or at least they won't see Anaeris and go bananas again!"
Glancing at the stairwell, he frowns. "I'm going up. I need to see if there's a way out there. Come if you like, but it might be a dead end... or a trap. So let me have a look first."
Atal then begins to slink up the stairwell slowly, trying to see if it will lead to an exit for this motley group of unlikely companions.
Atal makes his way up the stairs, luckily he had the ability to see in the dark or he would have likely smacked his face into a large stone slab. There cutting off the steps that continue upward, there was absolutely no where to go.

Atal inspects the slab, walls, and stairs, to see if there is some catch or mechanism that might remove the stone slab. He also pushes experimentally against it, to see how solid it seems - would Uthal and Anders be able to combine their strength to knock it down?
The slab is as solid as the wall itself, with absolutely no give. There’s no indication of a lever or switch, or even which direction the stone should slide to. As best Atal can devise, this is not an avenue of escape. The only potential routes are back the way he and Anearis came, or into the unknown of that western corridor.
"Dead end," Atal says to the others grimly. "Either we fight our way back through the exit Anaeris knows of, or we fight our way down the unknown western corridor. Anaeris... what was behind that door you jammed shut, anyway?"
Anearis blindly walks into the darkness towards the western corridor, and would likely have walked his face straight into the fist of another robed figure, had Uthal already been alerted to the presence of two more enemies merely feet in front of them, standing between the party, and the corridor. The same heavy brown robes, the same featureless figures beneath, the same shambling movements, and the same odor of death and decay emanating from them.
The two figures spot both Anearis and Uthal and move to engage.

"An acceptable plan."
Make it quick. We managed to dispatch two pursuers but we are not out of trouble yet.
Anearis told to Atal as he was heading up the winding staircase.

Guards. I only saw two of them but more will surely be on their way. The only option left I believe is the unknown corridor.
He turns to his companions of fortune for approval.
((I might change my color. This color looks hard to read. Might go for Olive))
Uthal moves back to the others. "Let's go then. If more guards are coming then we're going to have more problems soon."
Uthal then begins to move towards the unexplored path.
