After finishing off the first creature, Anearis felt relieved. But that moment was cut short when he realized there was still the second creature to deal with. He sent two quick jabs at the creature’s abdomen.

Anearis’s jabs did not go unrewarded, as they caused the creature to double over and fall to the floor. However, no sooner had he hit the stone, than he was right back up to his feet.

"Augh!"Atal groans, realization hitting him almost as late as Ander's second dagger hand. Well, a little sooner, since Ander's second dagger hand had yet to hit. "Softie, hit it with some divine energy! These are undead, right? Religious damage might keep them down then, or else Sune had better to go back to her powder table and have a good long look in that hand-mirror of hers!"
He takes aim with his bow again and fires, hoping to at least temporarily disable it while Uthal gets his prayers together.

As Atal’s arrow flies, it pierced the creature’s head, entering one of the eye sockets and half exiting the back of the skull. The zombie stumbles a few steps in place, while the arrow pertrudes from two opposing sides of its head, before falling to the ground; dead.

Uthal brings his hammer up to his shoulder again and pauses to spit out more blood. "That's Selune thief. And I suppose we won't find out now, good shot." He advances slowly down the hallway.

As Uthal advances to the mouth of the corridor and proceeds to it, he sees a figure, one whom he’s familiar with, standing in the hallway right before it turns a corner and continues elsewhere. At the same moment, the figure sees Uthal and smiles “Softie! You’re alive.”
There standing, with dual short swords in hand, that looked like they had been used in a similar manner to Uthal’s hammer, due to the evidence of decaying flesh and bodily fluids on them, was none other than the third part of his and Atal’s thieving trio, Richter.
”Though I’d say with a much lighter load.” Richter continued, pointing out, with one of his blades, to Uthal’s lack of furs, armor, or bulging backpack.
Uthal lowers his hammer just a touch then raises it again remembering previous events. "It's good to see you too, though I don't know how good. Our actions were betrayed." He stares down Richter, looking to see his reaction to that information.

Squeamish, but hyper-aware of just how meagre their supplies are at the moment, Atal picks through the corpses to retrieve what arrows he can.
Arrow Recovery Dex Roll: 11
He also investigates the squishy corpse remains for any sign of who they might have been, how they were created, and for what purpose other than macabre humor or necromantic practice runs.
Investigation: 21
Giving up his investigation when the smell becomes just too much, Atal's ears perk up a bit when he hears Uthal speaking to a familiar voice. Approaching the two, he looks Richter up and down, checking to see if he's missing any body parts.
"Good to see you again, and still in one piece,"Atal greets the other man. "I overheard them saying they had great plans for your eyeballs. Thought they might've gotten to you already. Nasty business going on down here, huh?" Taking out the odd silver coin he found in the Baron's bedroom, he flashes the skull-side to Richter, before snatching the coin back into his palm.
"So. What's all this about, then? I got a feeling we just stepped into something bigger than all of us. For the time being, my part of the heist was successful..." Atal pats his backpack, replete with stolen goods, "... and I paid for any extra tax with my pound of flesh,"Atal points to his swollen face. "So stop holding out here and tell me what in the nine hells is going on in this creepy-ass basement? I signed up for a heist, not to be some necromancer's pet experiment."
Atal successfully recovers the three non-burnt arrows, however, upon pulling them out, he notices some sort of sticky dark residue on the tips of two of the arrows. ((Atal, add one arrow and two 'necrotic arrows' to your inventory)) There is very little to indicate who the zombies were in life, but it is likely that they'd been dead for quite some time, years even. However, on some of the flesh you do notice unidentified markings, markings similar to the tattooed ruins drawn on Sir Ander's face.
"Are you sure you're not taking that a bit seriously? After seeing your stealthy movements, or lack thereof, and then the elf getting pummeled by a merchant's fancy-boy valet, I wouldn't be surprised if the two of you simply slipped up." Uthal can confidently discern from Richter's expressions, words, and movements that while there may be a hint of suspected betrayal, he honestly doubts that it had occurred. "Speak of the devil." Richter was surprised to see Atal, as he approached as well. "Well, the eye makes sense. When I was leaving, the Commander of the Guard 'accidentally’ ran into the tip of my sword...eyeball first." Richter smiles, and looks upright into nothing, as if reminiscing about a happy memory from his past. He's snapped back to relity though, when seeing what Atal held in his hand. "A black spot. Something that I haven't seen in a long time. But that's something we can speak of later."
Though no sooner had Richter responded then another zombie slumped from around the corner, immediately behind him. However, before either of you would have had a chance to react, a bright radiant light lit the zombie aflame, burning him to a pile of ash on the floor. Another robed figure then walked around the corner, human. He kicked the ash pile as he stepped into view, and Felix came to stand next to Richter. Felix looked at Richter, unconvinced by his companion's lack of suspicion, then towards Uthal. "We can talk about everything once we get out of here. But the ledger. Do you have it? Is it safe?"
"I don't know. They took my things when they dumped me here. I doubt it though. Trevor was the one who betrayed us. He was with me in the room when I tried to open the ledger and i believe he was the one who knocked me out. I confirmed his betrayal with one of the guards down here. He said if they needed to they could always get my religious friend to knock me out again.
If the ledger was actually what I had my guess would be Trevor either has it or put it back."

"Trevor? Is that that decrepit skidmark's name?" Atal says, packing away his new arrows carefully as he tries to control the vitrol in his voice. "Saw him down here. Performing some kind of a ceremony with a bowl or a dish or something. Probably helping to make those freaks of nature," he adds, tilting a head back at the corpse. "I wouldn't be surprised if they had an entire army down here that would just keep coming if they saw us, so why don't we talk while we walk? Or save the talking for some place more pleasant than here."
Ander watches with some confusion. "Now, I'm thankful for your help getting out of that pit. I won't complain about whatever you're doing here, but it'd be nice to know."
Anearis was confused at first when he met the second motley group. He soon realized that they were part of the same group of thieves he had helped thwart.
"I agree with Atal. We will get to know each other once we leave this dreadful place. I have lots of questions for you though."
As Anearis walks up, he recognizes one of the newcomers. The roguish looking man with the swords is the same bandit that you watched flee from your first encounter with Atal.
Ander, neither of these men had you ever laid eyes on before. Though it’s obvious that they’re acquaintances of some of the others.
The conversations are all interrupted by a large crashing sound followed by a volley of voices. They’re loud and obvious enough for all six of you to hear and discern that they’re coming from back down the eastern corridor.
“Spread out and find them.” “Don’t let any escape.” “I want them alive, but not if it means your own lives.”
Richter turned to the ragtag party between him and the direction of where the voices were coming from. “I don’t know about the four of you, but those voices definitely don’t sound like friends of ours.” Richter motions back and forth between himself and Felix. “There’s a tunnel back here that connects with the sewer system, so we can get to the rest of the city, or outside of it for that matter, but if any of you are coming with us, we need to move now.”
Richter follows Atal with his gaze as Atal steps two or three feet to flatten himself against the wall, ‘hiding’ in the shadows. “Ok...unnecessary, but I like the spirit.”He turns back to the rest of the party. “The rest of you coming, or you got unfinished business?”
