(Vor came up with his own entrance to the story and decided to start at Chandler's Folly and head to Lapo for other reasons.)
Your trip to Chandler's Folly is uneventful. Miles of trees, mountains on your right, the river on your left, and plains or forest beyond the river.
You find Chandler's Folly to be a very small rural town with a small store containing nothing but the basics, and a poor inn, but after two days on the road eating rations, even a poor inn might sound grand. The Axe of Fire Inn and Tavern is located In a residential district, west of a major crossroads. The street outside is filled with the scent of burning wood. The inn is a small wooden building, with a small hedged yard.
Vor, not taking any unnecessary chances, will back-track a bit and find a way around. As he is on a slope, does the trail go along the hillside or is it at the bottom of a valley? Of he can get higher up so as to be able to look down, he'll go for the high ground.
The part of the trail that Vor is on winds up the side of a rocky cliff. The trail on the way back doesn't give you any choices. You end up just outside of Chandler's Folly. It's getting dark now, and is too dark to travel without getting lost, but options would be to go back to the town, travel south following the river looking for another pass, or to go north and look for another way up the mountain toward Lapo.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Newa starting to get concerned with the animal and monster activity she has seen in these areas and notices how dark out is it now...."I think we may want to stop for the night or possibly go back to the town. Like I mentioned earlier there has been very increased activity in this area lately traveling at night is not a good idea. If we do press on I think the mountain pass is the worst way to go."
She continues to stay to the side of the trail a little ahead of the group scouting....
"Agreed, Newa. I'm exhausted. I would love it if we could stop here for the night before heading towards Chikra's passageway." Hallanann points towards the Axe of Fire Inn and Tavern, "Anyone care to join me? I'm also curious to hear what people are saying, if anything, about what happened in Bridged City."
Vor isn’t to keen on any of his opinions, but given that it’s darkening he’ll look for a secure spot to doze through the night. It isn’t something he hasn’t done before on long night stakeouts. A ledge more or less his size, one bears would be unlikely to be able to get to, would do. He’ll also pick up a few grapefruit sized rocks to serve as ‘discouragement’ should anything get to inquisitive during the night.

"A good night's rest would be welcome, I'm sick of being cramped up in that carriage," Chikra says. She casts her eye about the small town, looking for something that might pass as 'entertainment.'
(clarification: Vor is off on his own between Chandler's Folly and Lapo. The rest of the party in in Chandler's Folly. I'm working to get the party united so it will be easier for everyone.)

Ignore first roll that was a mistake, and I’m not gonna delete it so it doesn’t say manipulated dice results. I was doing it on phone and something happened and I couldn’t see where I put the first roll, so I did it again. (Yes, I’m giving up a nat 20)
Newa moves right to the bar, orders a drink, drops a few silver coins then finds a place backed to a wall that gives her sight of the whole place. Maybe it's just the ranger nature but she is always in surveillance mode.
"Me too," Chikra whispers back. "No bandits on the road, no beasts in the night, just that tiny little carriage!" She huffs. "Maybe, if we're lucky, some drunkards will be causing trouble at the inn."
Roughly hewn wooden tables and benches provide a place for weary travelers to rest. Accommodations consist of straw mats near the hearth.
The Inn keeper, a young female human is dusting the corners of the room, and periodically screeching then stepping on what might be some kind of bug.
On the menu is:
1. Stewed Cod and Cabbage, Tankard of Ale (13 cp) 2. Boiled Eggs and Cabbage, Tankard of Cider (12 cp) 3. Stewed Lentils, Mug of Cider (3 cp) 4. Pottage, Mug of Bitter (5 cp) 5. Pottage, Mug of Cider (5 cp) 6. Boiled Eggs and Dried Beetroot, Tankard of Beer (8 cp) 7. Buckwheat Biscuits and Soft Cheese, Mug of Beer (4 cp)
A mug of beer is 2cp.
Patrons are:
1. Female Elf Merchant, Red hair and brown eyes. She wears simple clothing and several pouches hang from her belt. 2. Female Dwarf Scofflaw, She has thick white hair and gray eyes, and broken teeth. She wears modest garments and carries an elder staff. She is quarreling with a company of elves. 3. Male Human Alchemist, He has golden hair and hazel eyes. He wears well-made clothing and a copper amulet. 4. Female Dwarf Merchant, She has silver hair and brown eyes, and prominent ears. She wears simple clothing and carries an oak staff.
The innkeeper brings Newa her drink. "Here you are," she says, and then rattles off the menu and accommodations of the inn. "That'll be 2 copper. Can I get you anything else?"

Vor sleeps through the night and wakes feeling... tired. Although his sleep wasn't disturbed, the cold stone, and fear of the bears returning make proper rest difficult.

Hallanann orders the stewed cod and cabbage with a tankard of ale, handing over 13cp. "Thank you," Hallanann says, afterwards. "Ah, and I'll also take a room, please," and he fishes out a piece of silver.
Hallanann then sits back and just listened to the patrons around him to hear whatever he can about what any of them are talking about, hoping to hear something that sounds pertinent to the quest.
"I'll take the Stewed Cod and Cabbage, Tankard of Ale..." Lia says as she nods to the inkeep. "Also a room for the night if you please." She hands over the required coin. As the inkeep walks away she would glance around, tucking some silvery hair behind an ear as she looks over the other patrons.

"It is quaint..." Lia says with a sigh. "But still better than the last few days camping out." She heads towards the inn with the others.
