"To keep those pesky bandits away, why else? When you see one you take the whistle Gundren gave each of us, blow into it and they'll run away! Now .. why don't we head up and have a good drink? I'm sure our dwarven client has already informed them of our arrival and covered the bill"
Alexei gets up from his chair and heads towards the bar tender, leans in and whispers into his ear
"I think my rocky friend over there had an accident of sort. You dont mind mopping up the puddles, do you?"
Hausa’s face becomes very serious. “I know the Deep Magic.” He then sees Geo finishing off drinks, and makes a grossed out face. He then steels himself and starts helping Geo to finish them out of politeness.
You all go up to The Golden Rooster, there's a mention of you all knowing Gundrento which the innkeeper overhears and allows the room just for the room and food free of charge; twin rooms with collapsible partitions. The night passes easy enough, with a nice drink and solid meals of meats and veg splashed with gravies.
A grey, misty morning finds you all suddenly. Through the grog, you all gather at the table for breakfast to find then innkeeper make a noise of surprise, "Oh! There you are! Gundren and Sildar left practically in the night. They left a little scroll for ye..."
Huddling around the scroll a small clinging pouch slips out before you read...
Morning lads and laddie, I got an urgent message that I needed to be Phandelin right away so Sildar and I are heading off ahead. Don't worry; we'll leave a few bandits and a bear for you to deal with on the way, so ye don't fall asleep! In the wallet is a little something for your trouble, a tip of much to come! See you soon! Gundren

Before a thought can be said, platefuls of eggs and meat are thrown in front of the four of you with steaming pots. The tavern is practically empty with the shuffling, banging and trotting sounds of the city coming to wake outside.
“A marvelous breakfast,” Geo, monocle on, sits with proper posture, eating dainty bites with the provided silverware. “Geo’s compliments to the chef,” she says to the employees who brought out the meal.
Geo turns back towards the table, scrutinizing each member with a nod. “Geo is quite thrilled to begin this journey with each of you. A pity Gundren and Sildar has to go up ahead...hopefully everything is alright with that urgent letter talk.” She pauses for a moment, hand and fork frozen midair with a clump of egg. The egg slides off the utensil, landing in Geo’s lap, and she frowns.
“Did Gundren inform us where the supplies we’re delivering are?”
Alexei calmy eats his breakfast, puts down the cutlery and gives his new companion a puzzled look. Strokes his chin as if he's trying to remember something, looks down to his plate and then at the three again. "Hmm. Apologies if this may sound bizzare but your names completely slipped my mind. Last night was so fun and eventful I may even forgot to actually introduce myself." While the genasi and the elf question the innkeeper the tiefling rummages for a few seconds and producess a small rectangular piece of paper, various detail in fine ink on it,and puts it on the table. "Nanya R. Bisness, exorcist extraordinare. At your service."
Geo glances at the tiefling, pulling out her own card to compare to ‘Nanya’s’. Her eyes linger on the word “exorcist”, frowning in concentration before glancing over the rest of the fancy inking. Unable to hide a bit of embarrassment, she stuffs her hastily-scrawled, uneven paper back into its pouch, her monocle slipping from her face.
”Geo Steelfist,” the genasi offers her hand to the tiefling with a toothy grin. “Your card say you good at exercising? Up for arm wrestle?”
The tiefling shakes Geo's hand with a bit of reluctancy, quickly retracting his hand once it is done.
"I'd love a good wrestle but we just had breakfast and ..uhm ..as I'm sure you know, practicing the art right after having eaten is really bad for one's health. I wouldn't want you to fall sick just as we are about to begin our job. Maybe after the job, yes?"
Craith watches the Teifling's slip of paper plop onto the table, he quickly scoops it up, gives it a look over, and is quickly confused...
("Sh- should I have brought my own?") Craith thinks to himself as he quickly straightens himself up a bit and just decides to nip it in the bud.
"Uh hello, my name's... Craith. Uh... I'm a cleric."
He figures that's good enough and settles into his seat. (I really, really, REALLY, Hope I did that right.") He thinks as he continues to pick at his breakfast.
“Hmm,” Geo drops her hand with a snort. “After then.”
She turns to the nervous human, with a nod. “You cleric? Use magic?” The genasi quickly places her monocle back on her face, straightening out. “Geo is no stranger to the arcane arts either. Perhaps on our journey we can exchange notes?”
As you all walk and talk to the southern stables to get you onto the High Road, you find the day to be cloudy but dry.
Much like the the innkeeper, the stablemaster hears Gundren'sname and compares you all his notes quickly and nods in agreement with the information in his hand. He is happy to give you the wagon with the beasts of burden, which are really well-trained and go by the name, Dot and Bollard.
There is more than enough space for two in back and passenger in the front. The High Road is quite busy, but the stretching views of the coast, the clouds breaking and the relatively friendly folk makes the trip quite uplifting.
The turn onto Trialboar Trial quietens things down with no more traffic, leaves ahead and wind awash with birdsong and buzzing insects.
Another scenic road seems to rolling towards you all until there's too dark mounds in the road... with arrows embedded in them. A horrific waft of decay is met with the stark increase of buzzing as the cattle as easily settled to a stop...
“Why stop?” Geo calls out from the back. The wagon shakes as she hops out, and begins to walk toward the front of the wagon. The genasi freezes as she sees the arrowed bodies.
“Geo see why stop,” she mutters, pulling out her greatsword, warily looking between the bodies, the sides of the road, and the observant Hausa for his go-ahead.
Alexei walks to Geo, hiding behind her frame and stretching out a bit to look at what is blocking the road. "That is not good, you should go investigate. I'd go myself but I'm sure you are more than capable of doing it and I need to keep a lookout and guard the cart." As he says that, he slighty pushes the genasi in the direction of the bodies. "Maybe take our elven companion if you don't feel like going by yourself. We won't judge."
“Geo handle it!” The genasi growls back at the tiefling, with a scowl. Feeling her pride on the line, Geo approaches the dark mounds, greatsword drawn and ready to attack anything that should jump out on the road.

Before exiting the building
Geo watches Alexei leave the table, then leans over to Hausa. "Geo no get whistle either...Geo no need whistle! Bandits run from Geo and Geo magic!"
Seeing all the abandoned drinks, the genasi begins taking swigs of the stuff, seeming not to mind the poor quality.
"Hausa and Craith know magic?" she asks, stifling a belch.
Hausa’s face becomes very serious. “I know the Deep Magic.” He then sees Geo finishing off drinks, and makes a grossed out face. He then steels himself and starts helping Geo to finish them out of politeness.

"Good, good. A cleric will be useful, I'm sure. Bit lacking in the introduction department, but what can you do? No one's perfect. And .."
"Nanya" turns his attention to the elf at the table, giving him a broad smile.
"You are? No, wait don't tell me. I can read your mind .."
The tiefling puts a finger to his temple, closes his eyes and throws back his head.
" .. you are an elf, who needs money for ... a very important reason."
He goes back to a normal posture and looks the elf in the eyes and winks.
"Don't worry, I won't reveal to them what the reason is. So, whats your name?"
“I am naming Hausa,” he says putting his hand out to shake excitedly. “I am having not been to this country before now.”

"Nanya" shakes the visibly excited elf's hand.
"Never been here before? I never would've said. Don't worry, you're in good hands."
“I not met new friend,” he gestures towards Craith. “How are your doings?”
