The gibbering noises grow louder and the sounds of feet wet feet pattering against the deck of the ship mixes into the cacophony of sounds.
Xarprax, Gunnar and Krumdak all manage to pinpoint the sound of their enemies enough to land a hit. Those of you who understand Undercommon hear:
"WHAT?!. THEY'S ATTACK! WE'S ATTACK BACK! FISH FOR THE PRINCESS OF KELP! FOOD FOR THE DUCHESS OF THE SHALLOWS!" The final two sentences are chanted over and over again as they stab at you.
You watch as the hunched over, fishlike shapes stab at you with short spears through the fog. Attacking Verrynia: 21 Damage: 4 Attack Krumdak: 23 Damage: 4 Attack Gunnar: 8 Damage: 3 Attack Xarprax: 20 Damage: 6

The final fishperson climbs over the railing of the ship. The rest of the gang is in the fog and can't see any of their attackers clearly, but Verrynia is outside and clearly sees as the fishpeople climb aboard. Each of the grunts wield a spear and a shield, but the final one differs. It wears a captains hat and a patch over one eye. Instead of a shield and spear it wields a long staff with what looks like a massive crab claw at the end of it. The claw snaps towards Verrynia and the fish leans in and chomps at the lithe tieflings body. Like something taken out of a story of alien creatures a second set of jaws burst out from its mouth, making the whole attack strangely terrifying to watch.

The fog is thick, and no-one but Verrinya, who is standing outside it can land a hit on the fishes and only hear the clanking of their shields as you wail into them. Gunnar, Krumdak and Xarprax all hear a wet, thud as the weapons hit the makeshift shields. When you pull back to strike again you feel resitance, as if the weapon sticks to the shield. Krumdak, Gunnar and Xaprax, a STR Saving throw from all of you, please.

The leader of the pack grunts as Verrynia plants a dagger firmly in his dominant arm. He yells in Undercommon
Is dropping the spell. Horns stab me! Need more protect!
All of sudden he is almost whacked across the race by the giant fist of a goliath monk who then steps away, tauntingly. Without letting go of Verrynia he follows the monk (8 on insight), just holding on to the end of his pincer staff (10 ft reach). The pincered staff seems almost sentient, and clamps down on Verrynia while it's wielder tries to bite Krumdak.

After biting at Krumdak the leader presents a small wand made out of the spine of a fish, with a single eye staring right towards its face. The leader stares back into the eye, and for a split second his entire body is covered in a pale green membrane of slime.

Xarprax STR save: 11
Xarprax pulls and twists his weapon, trying to make it come free of the fishman's sticky shield. "Let ... go ... of ... my ... pick!" As the creature is pulled to the left and right, it attempts to spear the dragonborn, but its aim is thrown off, and both attacks miss.
Xarprax gives a heave, and is almost thrown backward as his weapon comes free of the creature's sticky shield. Narrowing his eyes, but still grinning, the dragonborn swings again at the fishman.
Everyone manages to pull their weapons away from the fishes sticky shields before striking back.
With a crack of thunder, the hydraulic gauntlets of Gunnars armor cracks the fishes head open, as it collapses to the ground.
While the big boss fish is busy biting Krumdak a dagger is swiftly planted in its neck. It lets out a deep, guttural gurgling sound and before it can turn again two goliath fists are planted where its fishy kidneys would be and druidic spider web tethers it to the deck of the ship.
Our resident bounty hunter is however blocked by a shield again.
When the fishes see their leader coughing up blood they scatter over the edges of their ship, apparently not caring for their own safety, trying to get as far away as possible. A series of splashes are heard and the fishmen submerge into the dark waters below. (Feel free to make attacks of opportunity, as the fishes dash instead of disengage
When the large fish sees its underlings jump into the water it spits a clot of slimy blood after them, yelling something in undercommon that even those of you who don't speak the language understand has to be some kind of profanity. He then tries to pull his legs out of the spider webbing, but to no avail. In a moment of desperation he points his staff at Krumdak, and mutters an incantation, his body shimmers once more and is covered in a thin layer of goo.
