The elf looks at the hat, their face scrunching up a little. "Oh... ew, both to the hat and the LITERAL fish people?" She ties one final knot and turns to you, wiping some sweat off of her brow. "You guys ready to see the captain then?".
The girl leads you into the captains quarters where an elderly man is sitting, hair slicked back with a nice side part. The graying hair and short stubble makes him look handsome, for a hardened whaler at least. "Ah! Ahoy! I'm Bartholomew Ryefield, but you can call me Captain. I hear you've looked into the issue with the fog. One of you, report. Quick-quick, I don't have all day."

After hearing that the captain might want his hat back, Xarprax quickly unties the pink bow and is hiding the hat behind his back as they enter the captain's quarters.
Xarprax enters the captains quarters tugging at the hat, pulling his cheeks upwards. Not the most discreet of entrances. The Captain gets a quick fill in from what you've told the elf and scratches his bristles. "I see. I suppose there might be monstrous fishes in the sea around these parts.. and they stole our catch.. and they used the fog as cover you say? With MY HAT?!??!" He gets up and tugs it from Xarprax head, with a swift pull. He places it firmly on his own head. "You've stretched it..." He says as it slumps down on his head, covering his eyebrows.
He presents a small chest in front of you. "So. I suppose you want pay for your expert analysis and investigation. What do you say to 50 droplets. I have no guarantee the problem is fixed, but at least we know its nothing horrible like banshees and ghosts within that fog. We catch bigger pray than small fishes every day, there shouldn't be a problem if we just ask Blacktooth or Thunderscale for a couple of guards!" He counts 50 gold with care and stacks them in 5 piles in front of you, each of them eventually falls over from the rocking of the ship. "Ooops."

Khurah takes her gold. "We thank you," she nods to the rest of her party and flashes a nearly not-at-all-spidery grin. "We'll need to inform the man in the tower. Would you all care to join me?"
Xarprax quickly collects his coin and follows the others out. "Where we going?"
Gunnar sighs, “The man in the tower, he just... he just said it. How do you breathe without being instructed to do so...” Gunnar continues trudging past him.

You walk towards the large imposing tower. Looks like it is made out of several layers of floors slowing spinning around an axis, each rotates the opposite direction of the floor above. When you close in on the tower you start hearing a thumping sound and when you turn the final corner you see the source. A massive construct, 13 feet tall walks around the tower, pusihng a lever that is connected to the first floor. A two foot trench has been dug around the tower from the walking of the massive golem. It doesn't seem to care about you, and just keeps on walking around the building, pushing on.
After taking the whole scene in you notice that there are four doors one on each 90 degree axis on the round base of the tower. There is no doubt whoever lives here is a practitioner of the arcane, who else has such a knack for strange flair?

Gunnar crosses his arms as they walk, and he looks to the top of the tower, “Khurah, what is this ‘tower?’ It would appear that the concept of subtlety is foreign to the creator of this structure.” Says the man in the sun-dragon-themed set of golden armor.
With a little struggle Xarprax manages to climb up to the golems back, standings on the ledge that is its waist and holding on to its shoulders. He is in for the ride, and before he has gotten a good grip on the construct and stabilized himself he has ridden it once around the tower.
Suddenly an orb, maybe a foot and a half comes soaring through the air above from one of the nearby rooftops. With a tha-wum it dissapears into a hole that opens in the side of the tower.
Meanwhile the golem just keeps on pacing around the tower.

The metallic orb hits Gunnar in the shoulder dealing 1 bludgeoning damage before it scatters off course and lands in the trench caused by the enormous golem. It suddenly pops open and in second it transforms into a stocky golem of its own, it quickly climbs back up the trench before turning back into an orb. The orb has a clear dent, but it doesn't stop it from building up some speed again and it dissapears into another hole that suddenly opens in the wall of the tower.
After a few seconds the large golem that Xarprax is riding stops and rights itself, causing Xarprax to fall down on his ass into the muddy trench. After it has gotten into a neutral position in becomes inert, and its dim eyes stop glowing.
It seems deathly quiet now that the constant thumping of the golems feet has seized.

Xarprax grins. "You're so funny. So, who's this tower man?"

OOC: Did we get a long rest between the fight and now?
Xarprax runs forward with the intent of climbing up the golem.
Athletics: 16 (-6 if it should be acrobatics)

"Hoo-boy!" Xarprax cheers. But when the orb flies by, he ducks down a little, his eyes going wide. "What was that?"
Khurah pipes up. "One of the orbs I saw yesterday. They all seem to go back and forth from the tower. I think they belong to the owner of the spire."
Another one flies by you, straight towards the armored goliath. Gunnar: strength saving throw if you please!

Strength Save: 13
Gunnar reaches out an armored gauntlet to grab and redirect the orb, “By the Daystar, it has been one thing after another.”
