"Personally," Melody approaches the man with a smile, "I think we can agree, when this establishment opens up, a free round might be due to your upstanding guild members?"

Auric:

Finally armored and dressed, Auric comes down the outside staircase to street level and moves purposefully over to the front door of the building.  Seeing the carpenter having a heated discussion with his companions, he strides up and asks, "Is everything okay here?  Is there some kind of problem?"

Now seeing the large dragonborn, Finley appears at a loss. He just stands there still looking around, a little pale and greenish now.

Mal'thrae: Fala answers the door. "I was going to come by the manor today...how did you get it fixed up so quickly? I didn't see you working on it at all!"

Mal'thrae, to Fala:

"To be honest, I have no idea how it got done that fast. We weren't here yesterday, and the manor was still in its previous state when we left. Tally didn't see anything either.

...it would honestly be good, since we're planning on opening a tavern on the first floor. Right now, though, a guy from the carpenters guild is currently pitching a fit because whatever miracle allowed the tavern to be transformed like that evidently isn't licenced by the guild."

The half-drow sighs. "But anyway, would you like to come over and see the inside? It's great!"

Fala smiles and steps out, locking the door. "Sure! Maybe I can back you up as well."

She follows you back to the tavern, where a tense silence is brewing.

Mal'thrae:

"It's nice, right?" he asks Fala as they enter and she takes a look around.

To Finley, he says: "Fala here hasn't seen any construction either. Should I go to Rishaal's place and ask him as well? Emric and Avi's place too? Maybe I should just ask everyone in the alley while I'm at it. Your investigation is important, I'm sure, so I want to do all I can to ensure that all possible witnesses are asked, and know about what's going on." He looks at him sternly, easing himself toward the door.

Tally puts a hand on Mal'thrae's shoulder. "I don't think that'll be necessary. Look, Finley, you're absolutely right. The Carpenter's Guild is supposed to be used or consulted on any project, especially one this size. But, there seems to have not been a project. These people are just as confused as we are! Now, I'm sure that they'll be more than happy to pay the fee for inspection, and from what I'm seeing, they'll pass with flying colors. What do you say?"

"I....fine. I suppose there's an explanation but it seems we won't be getting it. 75 gold for the inspection. I'll conduct it immediately." Finley proceeds to go over the entire place with a fine tooth comb, testing every nook and cranny for shoddy workmanship. He finds none, and ends up back in the dining area silently seething but with excellent marks on your inspection report. "The gold, please, and I'll be on my way."

Auric:

Having already committed significant funds to the tavern, Auric nods at the guildsman, though 75 gp seems pretty steep for just an inspection.  “Ah, well, as long as it defuses the situation”, he thinks.

"Now, who do we need to speak with to get food and drink for this place?" Valen asks once the contractor has left.  "It would be nice not to have to go elsewhere for breakfast each morning..."

Auric:

Whistling for his mount, Auric waits as it crawls down the side of the building from its turret stable.  Mounting it, he says, “Yes, let’s set up the provisioning for the tavern.  I’m interested to make sure we get a steady supply of fresh meat and ale for my men and I.”

Mal'thrae happily pays the guildsman the required gold.

Once he leaves, he turns to Tally and Fala. "Thanks for your help. We'll be sure to make it worth your while - a free meal/drink here at the very least." he says, grinning.

"Urukar and I found a place for food/drinks yesterday; I'll head there now if anyone else wants to come."

"As long as you don't take us the wrong way again...", the half-orc grumbles as he rises from his chair.

"Wouldn't dream of it!" Mal'thrae says, taking the lead as the two head toward their destination with a new spring in his step.

Auric, Valen, Mal'thrae, and Urukar make their way to the Guild Hall that the latter two found the previous day. (Anyone else that wants to go we can retcon in.) They arrive, and a halfling is just unlocking the door. He turns as they approach, and offers a bright smile. Greetings! How can I help you?

Melody waves goodbye to the party as the head to the guild and runs back upstairs to her room. Flipping open the storage chest under her bed she pulls the lamp back out and rubs it.

(Retconning one short conversation that I forgot about but I feel is important:)

Mal'thrae speaks to Melody after Finley, Fala, and Tally leave. "We ought to do everything else for the tavern through the guilds. The lamp's nice and all, but we don't want more trouble from anyone else."

(Guild Hall)

The half-drow extends a handshake. "Morning, sir. We're opening up a tavern - Trollskull Manor in the North Ward - and were looking to secure a supplier of food and drink through the guild. Might you be able to assist?" He asks.

"Lots of drink...", Urukar adds as he leans towards the halfling, feeling it an important point to make.

Auric:

"...and fresh meat as well," adds the Dragonborn.

Valen just nods, the others seemed to have a good idea of what was needed after all.

Rayner' belly is upset by the lack off food... "We need those supply's fast!"
