"So here is what I suggest..." Brocc says, stepping forward. He holds up the wand. "This can help protect us when this thing hits the ground." He waves the group to get in close around the throne. "I will activate it now, and it will create an area of protection around us. Hopefully that will keep us more protected as this thing hits ground, and, hopefully, not buried alive..." He would then activate the wand.
Rufus looks from Hatch to Brocc and the wand in Brocc's hand. Rufus shrugs and says, "Sure." Rufus touches the wand in Brocc's hand. He says, "Be made whole." There is a brief flutter of a breeze as his sorcerous powers manifest.

The wand sparks and smokes but after a few tense moments an invisible force surrounds the group.
The dungeon crashes to the ground, the evil power of Varrak Aslur no longer keeping the floating abomination in the air, and the walls crumble and the roof collapses, but the companions are not crushed thanks to the invisible field that surrounds them. As the walls crumble, light pours in and fresh air forces away the stench of decay and death that has hung around you all since you entered this cursed place.
Looking through the crack in the wall, you find yourself in open air and less than a hundred paces away are the walls of a town you assume must be Chalice – you defeated the necromancer just in time!
Cheering people stand on the walls, and soldiers emerge from the gates of the town to investigate....
As soon as they are safely down, Brocc casts mending on the wand himself.
"Stay in the force dome for a bit, as the rubble settles." He suggest to the others as he works on the wand.
Once things have settled he would stuff the wand away, regardless of how well his mending worked, and move to see what path is best for exiting the remains of the flying fortress.
"With the evil that was keeping the undead active in this place gone, we may want to check all the rooms on our way out. Partially for treasure, partially to make sure no monster somehow survived it's master to cause anyone more trouble," Hatch suggested.
The rumbling stopped, the dust settled, the city guards drew closer, the doorway they had come through had completely collapsed, as...they suspected, had most of the dungeon.
A familiar looking white haired woman looked in through the crack in the wall, dusty and sweaty from riding hard and with a great gouge caked with dry blood down one side of her face.
"Very much so." Brocc says, stepping out of the force dome, and having it disappear with him leaving it. "We did as you asked, the evil wizard who was running this place is no more."
"We might have a few new scars, but I suppose the pain means we're still alive," Hatch said, following close behind Brocc. "I thought we were doomed after that first volley it was so close, but somehow we rallied, thank the gods."

" Excellent, good work. I lost another of my outriders and my mystic reserves are exhausted but we've mopped up all those that fell to the ground."
"We might have a few new scars, but I suppose the pain means we're still alive," Hatch said, following close behind Brocc. "I thought we were doomed after that first volley it was so close, but somehow we rallied, thank the gods."
" It was pretty close.", she waved her hand towards the city walls. " But Chalice owes you brave men a great deal."
" Come out, we'll get you some food and drink, the guard will keep an eye on this heap."
"Oufffff!"Tom grunts as the massive dungeon land mass makes its decent and crashes to the ground. He's still in disbelief with all of this... he's seen some crazy things, but a flying dungeon about to crash on a town wasn't one of them.
"Guess we earned our rubies huh guys?!"
"Brocc, Hatch... that was intense. Sorry for getting in the way... I just was trying anything."
Tom listens as Brocc and Hatch recount the events to the white haired woman. "Food and drink would be great Ma'am!"
Torinns long black tongue flickered out, " I could do with a drink. But after that, I think I'm done, I have a clutchmate in Port Blacksand that I think I'll visit and compare notes on variant necromancy among mammals both alive and dead."
Rufus groans as he stumbled out of the dungeon to the applause of the citizens of Chalice. His already wind and sea weathered clothing is even more the worse for wear and bloodied in several locations. He is holding his pounding head in his hands in an effort to quiet the storm within it.
He says, "Did I hear something about food and drink? If so, then yes please!" Rufus staggers after the others towards the awaiting tavern and the promise of food and perhaps a tankard of ale to wash the dust from his throat. He mumbles to himself, "A fool I be, to have ever left the sea."
Hatch finds whoever has the loot bag and puts the necromancer's gaudy jewelry in it. "When the celebration dies down we'll sell off anything non-magical or useful and split it among us all," he said,
Girior led the group away from the crumbling mass of stone and earth and through the northern main gates of Chalice.
" I'll set you up with room and board at the Fat Frog Inn for the week, the clientele isn't the best but its comfortable."
As you pass within the walls of Chalice she continues chatting, " You know, Chalice began as a merchant's store built at the end of a wooden jetty where river traders landed their goods. The merchant claimed that he had been handed a poisoned chalice, as trade was initially so slow. The name stuck, but over time, Chalice grew to become a busy river port."
" It was the first safe haven for merchants who had travelled west from the Flatlands on their way to Silverton. In Chalice they could rest and do business without fear of attack. "
" King Pindar rules here, of sorts, unless he died in his sleep recently....but since his sons death with that terrible business with Princess Sarissa we are under King Salamon LVII ofSalamonis protection...as it is.."
As you pass through the town with the amiably chatting wizardess you take in the inhabitants and find yourself walking south on Lion Street. Passing the citizens of Chalice you see mostly humans with a scattering of elves and gnomes, armoured Man-Orcs accompany some of the more affluent as guards, you even see a huge ogre carrying 6 barrels of ale upon its huge shoulders apparently bound for one of the taverns.....you even spot one of the long-limbed human-like beings known as striders delivering a parcel to one of the storefronts.
A puffed looking young man in livery runs up to Girior, " For the heroes, Mistress. From the council.", he passes a bag into her hands and then runs off again.
She opens it and smiles then hands each of you another 100gold pieces each, " It seems the city council appreciate your efforts as much as myself."
" I must leave you here. I need to consult with my fellows about what may have caused this....you'll find your lodgings to the west along Beggars alley in the Market Square. They should have received my magical missive by now."
She heads off to the south at speed.
You stand on Lion Street ( running north-south) in the late afternoon, one side of the street, away from the alley, is a high wall, stone gargoyles fixed to the top roughly ten metres apart. On the west side of the street are five stores and the entrance to Beggars Alley. The shops are a florist, a locksmith, a bookshop, a candle shop and a wool shop.

Hatch brings Rufus close to Brocc and says "Can you mend the crack in the wand before he activates it? Hurry!"

<OOC: Rufus casts Mending on the wand.>
As we probably don't have a whole minute for that to be cast, I will just go ahead and activate as previously stated.

(I still want to check zombie room...)

Connar heartily agrees with the idea of drink and food and follows.
Tom nods at Hatch and takes the jewelry "You got it Hatch. I have the rest of the loot right here."
(I've added the gaudy jewellry ( 200 gp) to the running list of which was posted in the OOC chat thread)
