Ramious shouts in surprise, trying his best to protect team members as the logs crash down. When it's settled, he coughs and waves the dust out of the air in front of him, helping Leon and Alyssa to their feet. To Bugs he says, "Don't worry about it bud. These things are meant to fool us."
He stands there staring at the logs for a second, as if he was seeing a fish swimming through the desert. He scratches his head. Then, with a determined quick breath in, he shrugs and turns back to the kelp door. He examines it carefully for traps, asking Leon to give him a hand (Help?).
Leon helped, but as far as you could tell, there were no traps. Standing in a small (now) corridor did not make any sense, so, eventually you had to risk and open the door.
And - surprise! - nothing happened. Not right away, at least.
The room seems to be constructed of large stone blocks, buttressed in the corners. The walls are wet and slimy, and mud covers most of the floor in a thin coating. To the east and west may be seen stone doors recessed in the wall, and to the north a set of stairs leads down.
In the center of the chamber sits a large polished boulder amid a pile of smaller rounded rocks. The boulder is five feet tall and colored brown with dark streaks and spots. Leaning against it is what appears to be a bamboo staff.
In the mud around the base of the boulder is a moving shape, looking like a crayfish. It is facing you and seems to be aware of your presence.
The thing stared back. Whatever it though, for the moment Leon's attention focused on the floor - it was not just slippery, it was SLIPPERY, so much so, that any sudden move can result in the person taking a spill.
Ramious looks at the ground. "I have something for this."
He pulls out his steel ice cleats. "I didn't store these with the rest of the cold storage stuff cause I thought they might come in handy. Look at me ma! So clever!"
He begins taking a few moments to put them on. With the cleats attached, he gives walking in the mud a go, to see if it's any less slippery.

What's the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer? Class.
Alyssa would squat down from where she stood to try to get a better look at the creature. She’d strain her ears to see if she could make out any language, wondering if it would be worth her casting comprehend language. She would be curious as to what it was.
The wizard would then pick a section a little off to the side from where they were standing to do some experiments on the ground substance. Channeling her Mold Earth she’d see how and if she could manipulate it in any way. Then, she’d switch to her Shape Water can trip to do the same thing. Essentially, she was seeing if she could work out a way to separate or solidify the substance so that she may be able to create a safe path through without endangering them, or the local inhabitant.
(If the group wants/is willing, Alyssa could cast comprehend languages as a ritual. Unless someone happens to speak its language? But I’m assuming Blue may have already looked into that. We interested in hearing what it has to say?
As for the path, Alyssa would be willing to create the path as they were ready to move. She’d focus mostly on using mold earth, but could use shape water ice freezing for Ramious’ boots if it helps spread them out/get over if any limitations of her cantrips come into play.)
The language is very unfamiliar, but it does sound like a language, resembling (with correction on the crayfish vocal cords) the one you heard in the City.
(It's up to you if cleats will help. I suppose it would depend on if there is anything firm UNDER the mud for the cleats to grab onto. When managing my gear, I put "(IN STORAGE)" in front of all the cold weather gear, but I specifically left the ice cleats in my equipment list. They seemed like they might be useful for more than ice.)
Ramious looks at Alyssa with a bizarre look on his face, "You're going to try to talk to that thing?" He looks like surprised, but says, "Sure, sure, give it a go."

(Watch it just shout profanities or yodel loudly in her face lol
If Alyssa could, she’d do up a path for the others to snoop around and keep them entertained while she settled in to perform the ritual Comprehend Languages
Not exactly profanity, but that was not a welcome greeting either: "“Who is this? Who dares to enter the chamber of the guardian? You had better go, or I will have to discharge my sacred duty! Be off with you before I lose my temper!”
Yet, for all big words, the creature did not make any attempt to attack.
(And Ramious could use cleats if he wanted, my hesitation was because of the nature of the ground - stone floor and a layer of liquid mud on it)
"Well, it is the direction we wanted to go at least..." Leon says as he grunts with the pain of the logs smashing into is back.
Alyssa could only groan. Getting sandwiched between their armoured bulk from the unexpected force of the sprung trap, hurt.

"Musta gotten lucky with that last door... someone else wanna search this one for traps?" Bugs asks feeling ashamed for triggering this one.

With dart in hand, Bugs would prepare to throw one at the creature should it make a move to strike.
If it should attack, using reaction to strike first.
Attack: 12 Damage: 17
Creature does not attack but instead makes a series of strange noises, too regular and distinct to be just an animal growl.

1. You know, scrap it - it's funny. Cleats it is.
2. I think Mold Earth should work (5ft patch can be solidified enough), and two Shape Water can turn 10 ft of this mud into ice.
3. It does look as if creature is trying to talk.
