The light is not an illness itself - that much is clear. Curing wounds did not affect it in any way. It does not hurt, but the numbness of the skin in the spots is not reassuring. And by now, looking at them in the light of the well, Alyssa can swear the spots are growing, if slowly. It does not feel like anything anyone would want on themself.
Meanwhile Ramious searched the lair of the now dead giant. The monster did keep some nice things around: a wooden cylinder that holds a spell scroll of detect magic, piles of rich cat furs, eight of the furs worth 5 gp each. Two leather bags beneath the furs hold 1,000 sp each. And lastly, an intricately carved ivory cube about 1 foot tall (worth 100 gp) which looks like a trick box.
"Ramious, if there is no other exits up there, do you want to come down and join us?" Leon calls up. "We can then decide where to go from here, and if we can do anything about glowing hands or not..."

Bernard moves over to Alyssa and asks, "Can I take a closer look at your hands?" If given the chance he will look at them carefully, move and rotate her hand and even take small scrap of cloth and see if some of it would rub off, though he'd take care not to touch them.

"Nope, sorry, have no idea... You sure it's not a birthmark?" he asks.
Alyssa already had her hands forward to show Barnard. "Yes." She'd lift them for him to look them over as he asked. When he'd ask if she was sure it wasn't a birthmark, her cheeks would go pink for a moment. "This is not where my birthmark is... I'd be concerned if it started to glow." The elf would chuckle. "Thanks for trying though." She'd smile.
Bernard shakes his head. "I am sorry. I wish I knew what it was but I dont... All the more reason to hurry through this so we can get you back to someone that treat it." He pauses, "Let me know if you do feel hurt or weak. I can't cure it but I can still restore some health "
Ramious looks down, "Ya, no way out up here, but a bunch of loot. Including one that looks like a puzzle box. Say...as soon as I shrink down I'll come back down to all y'all."
He uses the rope that was up there to descend down the pit and tosses the loot on the ground for everyone. "Never thought the day would come when I'd find TWO giant bags of silver coins and just be like, 'whatever'.....but...it happened. We should celebrate that! Also, there's this trick box thing here...."
He hands the scroll to Alyssa. 500 silver each. He begins to fiddle with the ivory cube. (Want a roll?)
Investigation? : 11if someone helps then 10(He doesn't let anyone help. lol. )
Alyssa's smile holds and she'd nod in agreement with Bernard's suggestions. It was a fair enough plan. "I agree... I'd like to get out of here."
With Ramious hinting for his way down, Alyssa would finally dismiss her magic with a snap of her fingers. She'd deny the scroll and the silver when offered, then step aside and out of the way as he fidgeted with the ivory cube. The elf would go to head her way back to the hallway to head to the cat room.
The rope that the giant was using before right now was at the bottom of the well, but what kind of adventurer forgets to take a rope of his own into the dangerous places? Ramious safely returned to the group with all valuables the giant kept in his lair.
Pretty (and expensive) puzzle box gave no clues of how it could be opened up, however while fidgeting with it Ramious pushed two plugs on either side of the cube in, and then its center slid out of a frame formed by the other four sides. This inner box opened like a chest. Within it tiefling found a beautiful silver and aquamarine necklace (worth 125 gp) and a parchment packet that hold three pinches of of some dust (has to be something interesting for it to be hidden so well).
Meanwhile Alyssa discovered an interesting effect - instead of illuminating her way to the cat-room (the guards with lightning blades disappeared from the corridor, by the way), the spots on her hands seemed to shine less and may be even become smaller the farther into the darkness she went. Could be a wishful thinking, of course.
Alyssa would tilt her head in thought as she'd notice the effect. The light spots faded along with the light. She'd make note of that in her journal. As she walked the hallway, she'd stick her hand in her bag, where there was potentially even less light, to see if that would make any difference. When she'd make it closer to the cat room, where there may be more light, the elf would experiment with situating herself halfway in the dark hallway and the brighter room. She'd continue testing this and making notes. Not forgetting about the curious red light, she'd eventually tip toe her way closer towards it, wondering how that'd affect it, if at all.
Experiments proved the initial feeling: the spots were absorbing the light, "feed" on it. In the darkness they did not exactly disappear, but shined far less and the longer hands were in the dark - the longer it take for spots to recover. But the moment red light of the crimson pit shined on them - spots begun to shine and definitely grow, now more resembling shining gloves.
Alyssa would hold her glowing hand out, turning it over a couple times in the magenta hue. She wondered if it was the colour of the light or the source of the light that fed the spots. The archaeologist would add a few notes to her book as she'd flex and wiggle her hands to test the numbness. She'd also update the surface area compared to when she first observed it. Once those notes were done, she'd 'hide' one hand from the red light to see if the glove retracts back to spots at all, or if the glowing dims. Next, she'd conjure a firebolt to dance around in her hand, as if preparing to launch it at a thorn slinger down the hall, but she wouldn't release it. It was another source of light to test against her glowing skin.
Fire bolt is short living spell but it seems any kind of light feeds the spots, no matter how much skin is exposed to it. The "gloves" are getting longer, spreading under the clothes.
Ramious looks at Alyssa’s hands in alarm. “What happens when it covers your whole body? Does the dark make it go away?!?! Let’s get you into the dark and quick!”

Alyssa would peak under her what bit of clothes and armour the light snaked beneath it to make note of how far her experimenting spread the glow, updating it on her little self sketch in her journal. She drew as well as she wrote, but never openly shared those. "The darkness doesn't seem to make it go away. But it does look as if it slows the spread or potentially pause it." She'd respond to Ramious as her eyes scanned her notes. "Think of it as, the light feeds it. The darkness starves it." She'd flex her hands and move her arms to test the numbing. "Doesn't hurt though. I still have mobility. It appears pretty harmless." The elf would then flip through to the mapping she's been filling in along the way. She'd tap the point of her pen on the page and then weave it between her fingers when she'd move to gesture to the 3 doorways they've yet to explore. "Any preference on which direction?"
The map. 3 more doors to go - two with the long empty corridors behind them, bending to unknown, one with the crimson pit and dangerous plants at the bottom between you and the next door.
"Well, maybe now is the time to try the out with plants. I mean as long as I got this flying potion going. I don't have any pitons, but if some does I could fly along the top, hammer some in and string our rope." Bernard offers.
Ramious shrugs, "And Alyssa and i were going to just burn the plants up with our spells.....we could do that before you fly, since they might be the kind of plants that get all grabby and touchy when you get too close."

“Well... it’s a bit numbing.” Alyssa would flex her hands slowly. “I wouldn’t recommend taking a dip in the fountain yourselves, though.” She’d shrug.
