"What should we know about the Star? Should we expect it to be volatile to us? Or require anything of us? You mentioned it was a drain on resources, but you never said specifically what kind. We do have gold, but that is only one small facet of a wizard's collection. We prefer keeping our wits along with our limbs."

"Normally, it shouldn't be volatile but it's corrupted now so I don't know what you'll encounter. And when I said it drained resources, I meant the money needed to buy all the components for rituals."
"Sounds like we have what we need. Shall we get going then?"
Hops drains his wineskin and attempts to pour some wine from a conjured decanter into the empty skin. Hops maintains eye contact with the Keeper, as if challenging him, while pouring and ends up making a huge mess. "That'll do. Thanks for the hospitality," and he wipes the wineskin with a fine napkin.

Dimiter huffs and steps back from the Keeper. "On your head if you've left anything out." He looks over the Keeper's head at his Echo. "Go and report to Rosohna what we've learned." The Echo salutes and moves out of the room, in the direction of Rosohna (as near as Dimiter can remember). "Let's go."
(@Dimiter, Are you trying to intimidate/deceive the Keeper?)
Ralyx nods at Oloren. "That is my plan." As the group prepares to leave, he lets out a shaky sigh of relief and stands back up, dusting himself off. He watches the group with wary eyes.
Felix offers to shake Ralyx's hand. "Thank you again... and I am sorry again for the inconveniences," he tells the Keeper. As he leaves, he mutters something under his breath in Draconic and constantly looks back at Ralyx.
(@Dimiter, Are you trying to intimidate/deceive the Keeper?)
Yes. Dimiter figures the chances of the Keeper knowing how an Echo Knight works is extremely low, so the Keeper won't know that the Echo ceases to exist once it's far enough away -- he'll just see it go through a wall or vanish, and hopefully think it's something magic fulfilling the order Dimiter gave it.
Ralyx's eyes widen as he watches Dimiter send his echo off, wringing his hands with worry but a smile still on his face. "Aha. Y-yes. A good idea... indeed..." Clearing his throat, he waves goodbye and the group leave before clicking his fingers, causing the table to disappear. He runs to the door, slams it shut and locks it behind you. You hear the thuds of his footsteps through the door as he seemingly rushes up the stairs.
(I'm assuming you're all heading to the Vault now?)
"Alright, let's head to this vault. Dim and Felix, whose turn is it to take point this time? I always forget."
When Hops sees the table of food disappear at a snap of the Keeper's fingers, he quickly checks his wineskin to see if the conjured drink is still there.

"If you do not want to take lead, you can always opt to take the back. Or are you and Felix in some sort of underhanded game?"Meklit looked towards Dima.

"Alright, alright. Just know, it's your turn next time," Felix retorts back at Dima. He will lead them in the direction of the vault (is a Survival check needed?), also looking out for any dangers on the way.
As Hops checks his wineskin, he can see there is still drink inside.
To The Vault
Felix leads the group to the Vault, following Ralyx's directions. It takes a bit of investigation, you even start to doubt Ralyx's honesty, but you eventually manage to find the shell of a long dead horizonback tortoise. It makes up the south side of left of the two hills and is covered with a layer of dirt and grass that camouflages it almost completely.
There are three holes on the hillside; one near the top, one in the middle, and one near the base of the hill. The inside is pitch dark.
"N-no, there shouldn't be any traps. I haven't been there in months, though, so if there are, then I didn't know anything about them!"

"So is our plan then to retrieve it and bring it back here to perform a ritual using the star?"

Oloren rises and heads for the door. As he plods along, ducking through the doorway, he sings a low sad tune in the language of giants.
Felix offers to shake Ralyx's hand. "Thank you again... and I am sorry again for the inconveniences," he tells the Keeper. As he leaves, he mutters something under his breath in Draconic and constantly looks back at Ralyx.
Meklit turned on her heel and walked out, not bothering with any goodbyes.

"Of course," Dima says to Felix. He'll keep half an eye back on the Keeper's home as they leave, looking to see if they're being watched.

What size are the holes? Are we talking keyholes or manholes?
(They're large enough to walk through.)
