Mardon nods, and leans against the wall of the shack, patting his pack of cigarettes into his hand before sliding one out. "Guess I'll smoke behind the church and wait to talk to the cleric, then. I agree, no need messin' with the dead unless it's absolutely necessary." He resigns to wait for the service to end and discuss matters with the clerics. He produces a pack of playing cards in case his companions wish to pass the time with a game.
Ander turns back to Comfrey, "Thank you for your time, good sir. The graves are excellently kept, I commend you. Should we hear more of these killin's though, perhaps I might return to help you bury them an' maybe catch a peek." Ander shakes the man's hand and returns to the others, while they wait for clerics. He recalls Clover to find out what she saw.
(DM Question - was there anything of interest on the rooftops that Clover would have seen?)
Rubin takes a seat on the ground near his companions. He is use to waiting so pulls out his hand crossbow and goes through his normal work at cleaning and maintaining the weapon.

"Wait, smoking is prohibited in the church area." Comfrey says.

No.
"Ahh, I'll tell you when it comes. Ah dare say it aint over yet."
Mardon puts out his cigarette and approaches the men clad in white robes. "Clerics, a moment of your time. We're here on behalf of Force Gray, investigating the murders in this neighborhood. We'd like to ask some questions."
"As you're surely aware, there's been a series of killings in this neighborhood recently, bodies left on doors, real grisly stuff," Mardon says. "We charted the killings, and it seems like they all circle one spot. This temple. Now, could be that it's this neighborhood being targeted, and your temple might just happen to be central to the neighborhood. But we figure as an important community figure, you might have some thoughts or theories as to whoever's carving up your congregation, or potential congregation members."
((I have to log off for the day, having some home issues and it may be hectic over the next few days, so if posts slow that will be why. When things break they all break at once. Apologies in advance for any delays.))

" We know, that's why we called the city watch. we all have a bad feeling about this. At the rate these killings are going the circle will be complete by evening."
((Just as a brief update, the various home repairs are ongoing which has been extremely hectic, took time away from work and now I am playing catch up on work things while the home remains a construction zone. Still not sure on my ETA of when I'll have time to return to regular posting, but the game is not forgotten, just extremely busy and stressed at the moment. Again, apologies. I don't want to slow progress of the game for everyone involved, so feel free to do whatever is needed for the story - bot my character, create a scenario where they are pulled away temporarily, whatever you feel is best to progress the game. I am hopeful all this will pass and things will return to normal.))

The service ends a while later, and men in white robes spill out of the church.
Mardon puts out his cigarette and approaches the men clad in white robes. "Clerics, a moment of your time. We're here on behalf of Force Gray, investigating the murders in this neighborhood. We'd like to ask some questions."
"Yes, come in." The lead cleric says.
The lead cleric brings you back into the church and ushers you into his office.
"So what do you want to know?"
Rubin stays standing by the door, keeping an eye on the cleric as the others speak to them.
"As you're surely aware, there's been a series of killings in this neighborhood recently, bodies left on doors, real grisly stuff," Mardon says. Know the feeling...
" We know, that's why we called the city watch. we all have a bad feeling about this. At the rate these killings are going the circle will be complete by evening."
"And what happens then?" Rubin speaks up from the doorway. "Is this some sort of ritual or something with you the target?"

It's okay.
"We believe it to be so, for someone must be targeting us for the grand priests discovery 2 months ago."
"Which was..." Rubin prompts. "We can't help you if we don't know what is going on..."
Ander keeps a keen eye on the priest for any hint that he’s not being entirely truthful (Insight: 12).
He is.
