After asking around, Elias and Alban find their way to the bathing room. Strangely enough, there are no baths. Instead, the room is divided by curtains, each with a network of pipes leading up to a strange nozzle. A valve of sorts seems to control the flow of water: turning it left produces hot water, whereas turning it right makes the water cold. Instead of pouring straight out, the gnomish nozzle causes the water to emerge like rain. While these strange contraptions were clearly made for someone of gnomish height, Elias and Alban are able to clean up, with some adjusting. As Alban finds a quiet spot to rest, Elias walks to catch up with the others at the mushroom isles.
Lamlis and Zylxian travel down parts of the gnomish tunnels they had not yet explored. They discover a large dormitory, crammed with bunk beds. About fifteen gnomes, a much smaller amount than the room could house. The gnomes are ecstatic to hear about the death of the mimic, and one, an elderly female gnome named Jabby, offers to show them the inventors workshop, and the mushroom isles. The workshop is cluttered with half-finished gnomish contraptions, their purpose indistinguishable, and blueprints of various sorts. Jabby points out an ancient tome sitting on a pedestal, explaining it is the spellbook shared by all gnomes of Gnomengarde. The elderly gnome opens a desk drawer, searching for a bit, before procuring four small knickknacks, one for each party member, offering them as souvenirs for saving Gnomengarde. Jabby asks that Lamlis and Zylxian make sure Alban and Elias get their gift.
Lamlis: 21 A leather belt that, when worn, glows with faint blue light.
Zylxian: 76 A hat that drenches the wearer in a harmless viscous orange fluid.
Alban: 36 A freezing cold gauntlet, that stays cold no matter how much heat is applied.
Elias: 10 A small fist-sized cube that occasionally makes strange noises.
As Zylxian and Lamlis follow their tour guide to the mushroom isles, Elias is able to catch up. They travel across the pool to the small isles rather easily, the water being only three feet deep. Jabby explains that the mushrooms were enchanted by the founders of Gnomengarde, giving them their enormous size.
"They come in three colors," the elderly gnome says, pointing to each type of large mushroom. "The red mushrooms provide us with oil, which we use to fuel our inventions and lanterns. Green mushrooms are ground into flour and made into our tasty mushroom bread. We ferment the purple mushrooms to make mushroom wine. The drink isn't as solid as its grape counterpart, but washes down the bread well." Jabby suddenly snaps her fingers, and laughs. "I almost forgot about the fourth type of mushroom!" Bending to the ground, she picks three glowing blue mushrooms, each about as tiny as her pinky finger.
"Here," she offers one to each half-elf, with a twinkle in her eye. "Give it a try."
Lamlis enjoys walking around looking at all the tunnels. When Jabby gives him and Zylxian the knickknacks he says, "Thanks so much. We'll definitely make sure they get these." Lamlis unstraps his quarterstaff from his backpack. It's well used, but has some carvings of different animals on it. "Jabby, this is for you, for taking the time to show us around and be such a great host." He hands her the quarterstaff.
When they get to the mushroom isle, Lamlis is amazed at how beautiful the colored mushrooms are up close. He tentatively takes the blue mushroom and puts it in his mouth.

Jabby is very honored by the gift, quickly replacing her old gnarled walking stick with the carved quarter staff.
mushroom: 17
With a flash of blue light, large butterfly wings appear on Lamlis's back, vibrant in hue. ((These give you a flying speed of 30ft for the next hour)).
"A bit of residual wild magic from the original enchantment," Jabby laughs, adding, "Fear not, they'll disappear in an hour or so."
Lamlis looks amazed as he can feel the wings sprouting out of his back. He laughs and launches himself straight up into the air. He does a loop and then circles over the island. He lands back next to Jabby. "This is incredible. Thanks. Do you mind if I excuse myself to fly around the mountains a bit? It's not every day I get to fly like a pixie."
If Jabby is done with the tour, Lamlis will spend the rest of his hour before the feast flying around Gnomengarde and the closest hills and valleys. He's not going to fly too high, mostly to avoid drawing the attention of a troublesome dragon in the area.

9 Zylxian’s mushroom
Zylxian suddenly feels a strange tingling sensation as he eats the mushroom. Looking around. He notices everything seems smaller than he remembered...((Zylxian is under the effects of the enlarge/reduce spell for the next hour)).
Lamlis enjoys his arial tour, seeing the majestic Sword Mountains and surrounding area with a whole new perspective. The shrubbery, river, and alcove where Gnomengarde resides rush away as he ascends. A sharp cold wind blows, the sky strikingly clear. With his attunement to the storm, Lamlis knows this may mean a storm front the next day. As forty minutes pass, the sun’s last rays fall behind the mountains, casting everything in a golden hue. It also illuminates dark figures emerging from the surrounding shrubbery...a pack of orcs. Their direction makes it clear they mean to go to Gnomengarde.
((OOC: I was feeling a little bad about taking the short rest instead of exploring, until I saw the bit about the orcs. I'm going to want my spell slot back!))
Lamlis flies back to Gnomengarde as quickly as he can. He alerts whatever guards he can see and tells them a pack of orcs are on their way. He will make his way to the ceremonial hall to try and locate his friends and tell them what's going on also. "A pack of orcs make way for Gnomengarde. Prepare yourselves!" , he hollers in the tunnels. He removes his crossbow from his pack, loads it and looks for an advantageous position with cover to begin picking them off.
(OOC: Do I still have about 20 minutes of flight left?)
Elias makes his way to mushrooms in time to see Lamlis sprout wings and fly off and Zylxian grows to a much larger person... Elias stops dead in his tracks mouth wide open and just stares for a minute before pinching his arm and slapping his face. A... A... Am I dreaming? What in the sacred seas is going on in here? What kind of water did I bathe in? Did you drug me?! He yells at Jabby.
Jabby is shocked at Elias's sudden outburst, holding tightly to her new quarterstaff. "They partook of the wild magic," she says weakly. "It's affects don't last long. You're welcome to try some as well."
Present...
((OOC: Yes, you've still got 20 minutes of flight left))
At Lamlis's words, the gnomes rush about in panic. The kings flee back to their bedroom, many of the other gnomes seeming afraid and unsure. It seems they'll need some commanding...
((OOC: We're going to try to run this in a group-type system, as opposed to running each individual gnome and orc. Each player gets one action to prepare before the orcs are upon Gnomengarde. Each player determines the position of one group (five gnomes) in the defense of Gnomengarde.))
Elias: Group 1 command
Lamlis: Group 2 command
Alban: Group 3 command
Zylxian: Group 4 command
((Post where your group will be stationed, roll initiative (this will be for you and your group) and your one-action prep. After combat begins, you will have a new pre- action, as detailed below:
Command Gnomes
On your initiative, before you take your turn, you may give your gnome squadron one of the following commands:
Attack - The gnomes will cast offensive spells against the orcs. Gnomish magic: +4 to hit, range 60ft, 5d8 cold damage.
Shield - The gnomes will cast a shield spell to raise their AC by +5 until the start of their next turn. (Can be cast up to 3 times).
Retreat - The gnomes can flee 50ft in a direction of your choosing.
Gnome Squadron Stats:
There are five gnomes per gnome squadron. They will act as a single unit with the following stats:
Armor Class: 13
HP: 35
Speed: 25ft
Taking Damage
Each time the squadron loses seven hit points, one of the gnomes in the squadron falls. When this occurs, decrease the damage dice by one for each fallen gnomes. For example, if two gnomes fall, the damage dice of the attack action will be 3d8.
))
After you command the gnomes with your pre-action, you will take your action as normal. ((Let me know if there's anything I need to clarify here))
Lamlis snags 5 of the gnomes in the hallway. " Come with me, we're going to defend the city! Grab anything that we can use as cover from an elevated position." I'm going to lead my group to the 30 foot elevation spot between G3 and G7. For my preparation action, we are going to get barrels or whatever else we can find to help provide us cover for the attack.
Alban rushes to the elevated spot outside G12. Five gnomes fall in behind him. As they rush to get in place, Alban directs them to find barrels of oil and alchemist fire to use to attack the orcs.
