Groups in position, supplies gathered, and at the ready, the heroes and gnomes brace for the onslaught of orcs...
Decorated in bones and furs, the orcs separate into three units, each moving with steady purpose. As they grow near, an eerie chanting becomes audible. While the language is unknown, one word is repeated over and over again: Talos. Leading the chant is a half-orc, decorated with shards of metal and lightning motifs.
Shaman's turn:
The half-orc stops her march, allowing the others to file past her as she reaches a metal javelin to the sky.
"Talos!!" She cries, as lighting zips from the empty sky to her rod. Instead of frying her, the strike seems to give the half-orc a surge of energy, the javelin and her eyes glowing a hot white.
((OOC: yes, so sorry folks. These next three weeks are going to be crazy for me with courses consuming my waking hours, not going to be too much posting on my part. I’ll be way more consistent after that to post, but I definitely don’t expect you guys to hang around waiting. If people are still interested in three weeks, I’d for sure be happy to keep running, it’s been fun with you all. Again, absolutely no pressure.))
(OOC: I'd like to continue also and don't mind waiting. I just wanted to make sure this was still a go and people were interested. I'm enjoying the story and having a fun time.)
(OOC: since we have some time anyone want to share anything about their character? For instance mine is a former sailor who has developed a motion sickness from a bad storm))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((OOC: Thank you so much for your patience all, I should be back and good to go.))
Orc group 1 rushes towards Alban's ledge, running straight into the poured oil. Dex check: 9
The orcs are unable to keep their footing, collapsing in a tangled heap on the slippery substance, and are now prone.
Orc group 2 and 3, seeing a pathway up Lamlis's ledge, converge on this position. Group 2 traverses the pathway, making it to melee range to attack the gnomes...
Attack: 25 Damage: 33
The orcs show no mercy, their might shattering through the gnomes, Elias's group's shield even unable to protect them from the onslaught.
As the pathway and footing is narrow, Orc group 3 stays behind to throw javelins as Lamlis's group of gnomes.
Attack: 14 Damage: 11
With the fired javelins, the last of Lamlis's group falls, leaving the half elf alone on the ridge with a unit of angry orcs...

((not sure if Lamlis will be returning, will bot his character this round. I've received work from Spidey that he's not going to be joining back, so after this combat his character will be departing)).
Recognizing the predicament he is in, alone before two units of well-trained orcs, Lamlisdisengages to fall back into the tunnels to the crossbow platform room, hopeful to regroup and stand a better chance against the enemy.
Zylxian orders his squadron to shield Elias's group (+5 AC until Zylxian's group next turn), seeing as they might be the next target of the orcs. He then fires a crossbow shot at O2, disadvantaged at such range but hopeful.
Attack: 8 Damage: 16
Unfortunately the shot goes wide, leaving the half elf frustrated at his lack of success.
Orc Shaman
The shaman, eyes still emitting a blue glow, electric sparks bouncing off of her, laughs as Lamlis's group falls.
"You shall be next, son of Valkur," her voice booms with power as she points a sparking finger towards Elias, walking closer towards the gnomish city."Talos's wrath will not be abated a second time."

"Alright, men!" Alban cries. "Release the alchemist's fire!" Alban directs the gnomes to throw their flasks of alchemist's fire on the orcs in O1, hoping to set the oil on fire.
He turns his attention to the shaman, who seems to be the leader. He whispers and draws on the powers of the Shadowfell to place his curse on the shaman. He then unleashes his eldritch blast against the shaman.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The gnomes shout a small battle cry as they hurl down the alchemist's fire, igniting the oil and the orcs prone within.
Attack: 18 Damage: 20
Writhing in pain, the flames scorch the orcs, only one of which survives the attack.
Alban's curse wraps dark tendrils about the shaman, just before she is hit with the searing eldritch blast. Her expression sours, turning to look Alban's way with a fierce scowl.
(How big are the squares on the map? Also not sure if I can do what I plan on doing if not let me know and I will change my action)
Elias yells Retreat to the crossbow room! Bring Lamlis here! And warn the gunner of danger.
Elias stands up to his full height and casts Fog Cloud on the landing leading to the tunnels Lamlis retreated through trying to cover up the landing and the doorway. And will hold concentration until Lamlis makes it to Elias' perch.
((OOC: certainly! Your group can use an action to heal 1d4 to a group, or can use their shield action on another group))

Alban you're up.
Alban directs the gnomes at his position to pour the contents of their oil barrels on the ground in front of their ridge.
He then focuses his attention on the nearest group of orcs (O1). He points his sword at them and unleashes his Eldritch Blast.
Spell Attack Roll: 24
Damage: 10
Elias tells his gnomes to help Lamlis' group with a shield and readies his crossbow for the orcs to get closer.
(OOC: Is this still going on or not? It should be the orc's turn right? If nobody is interested, let me know and I won't waste my time.)
(OOC: I was wondering the same thing. I’m still interested!)
((I was just going under the assumption that DM still had life stuff to work through. Am interested))
