"Thank you for the potions, Adabra. We bring a message from Phandalin's townmaster that you might be in danger here, all alone. You must have heard about the white dragon. He urges you to return to us to Phandalin."
Ervalin looks around the room curious to see what implements, books, or other things this potion maker has to keep herself busy or entertained.
Grim approaches the building but does not enter. He leaves the conversation to the others, the more civilised folk. Instead, he keeps his bow drawn and an eye on the sky.
((DM: don't stress about changing the whole system. You weren't to know about my colourblindness. I appreciate the effort that you're putting in. Whatever works for you is fine. I just struggle with shades. To give you an idea I thought this was light blue. ;) ))
OOC: Hi all. Revel - its been pretty quiet over the last couple of days.....are you waiting for extra posts or just been tied up with life? I would have thought Ervalin's and Ines posts would be sufficient interaction with the woman.....

Yeah, I've been a bit tied up. My daughter caught the Covid so I have been more focused on that. She's ok, it seem her immune system is like her ol' man's. Her mother isn't fairing as well though. I really do like this group, so If you guys can bear with me a bit, then we can continue once I have this situation under control. We should be fine though. No severe symptoms.

You see various alchemical set ups with beakers and vials along with random ingredients on one table. There are open books a safe distance from the reagents and tools. You cant make out the items but know they are used fro various potion making.
(Not sure which I would go for here. Arcana: 6 or investigation 18 )
On success:
She explains the potion. When Eravlin finishes she nods. "Yes, as the recent incident has clearly proved. You're much safer in town."
On failure:
Ines shakes her head. "Afraid I don't know. Excuse me, Miss Adabara, what is this potion?"
You know this to be a potion of healing and explain so to Eravlin.
Adabra Nods in agreement "Yes, since that beast came and the fact that there is a dragon around I should make my way into town. If you give me a few minutes I'll pack the essentials and make my way back, with you lot if you don't mind escorting me" she says as she looks around the room mentally noting the things she will need to take. "I'm glad you came when you did."
It is now a little past mid day and you all know that it will be close to dusk once you all get back to town. It's a nice sunny day with a few clouds out and no sign of rain. There is a gentle breeze blowing and all in all, its an amazingly nice day. Adabra packs many things and drags a chest out. "I have some things that may aid you if you want." She says as she opens it. Inside is a hand crossbow, 2 flasks of oil, and a strange gem.

"Does this gem have any magical properties, Adabra?" If she doesn't know, he addresses the group: "I would like to study it. Would you allow me to keep it, for a time? Then we can decide what to do with it."
"We shouldn't delay. Probably not a good idea to stay outside of town longer than needed." She lets the others take the objects offered as she sees no immediate benefit they could offer her.

Seeing the hand crossbow Conor's eyes go wide "Wow....I've heard of these but not seen one before...we don't see such weapons in the forests. I have trained for many years with the crossbow though and would be able to make good use of that if you don't mind me taking it. If someone else can use the Potion of Healing" he reaches into his pack and produces the potion, offering it around "I would be happy to swap"......and tossing it to the first of the party members who pipes up.
OOC: Conor has taken the Crossbow Expert feat so could take two shots a round with a hand x-bow....
OOC: Hey Revel - welcome back....how is your daughter?

((The hand crossbow is meant for you anyway and the gem would probably do good in a spellcaster's hands until it is fully realized. My daughter seems to have fought off the virus amazingly, but her mother and step father are not having such an easy time.))

OOC: It might take the others a while to reconnect so if you want to make some assumptions that all will be in agreement and head back to town you can progress us if you like.....assuming you don't have some sort of random encounter set up for the trip back to town.....mind you, getting to try out the new toy would be welcome

I was planning a random encounter that would be far enough away for you to take a short rest to identify the objects and use them during the fight. I'll wait longer for the rest to catch up as I know some of you have probably been checking in every so often to see if we are still playing. I really like this group and will keep doing my best to provide an amazing game for you with all the tools I have.

Taraven will quickly step up and grab a vial. She looks at it to study its color and viscosity. "What kind of potion is this?"

OoC: Really hope things are ok for you Revel. Happy to wait as long as you need. Now stop reading this and go be with family.
OOC: I can wait as long as necessary. As others have said, family first. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Knowing from his studies that gems can be used as spell components, Ervalin is interested. Does he know what it is or what it's used for?
"Thank you, Adabra. Let's get going, so that we arrive to Phandalin before dark."
You have never seen a gem like this and have no clue what it is used for. Maybe someone can identify it or spend some time with it to learn more.
