Smoke ducks to dodge a slingshot from the kobolds and rises back up again with a shocked expression on his face. What.. the nerve of those little... Shocked by the fact his grand speech had failed. His expression then turns to anger as his face shifts to a more menacing one.
You shall be marked!he shouts at the kobolds as small blue lights form around them, still fragile trying to expand around them.
Smoke then moves back a bit making sure hes behind Yevele and Thrax.
Action: cast Faerie Fire trying to get as many kobolds in the area as possible. (DC Dex 14) On failure the blue light engulfs them and gives any attack against them advantage. Movement: Move backwards just a bit behind our melee allies (most likely only 10ft)

The kobold line is no match for the strength and speed of the party. One falls to an expertly placed crossbow bolt, before Dern moves to the side of the road to grab cover behind an abandoned wagon. Two of the remaining three are then coated in the blue faerie fire of Smoke. The wounded raider seems to suffer no ill effect from Thia's mockery, but is also illuminated by the blue light, which creates even easier targets of the kobolds. Rogram nearly cleaves one of the creatures in half diagonally, so much so that his sword sticks among the kobold's ribs; unable to free it in time, he takes a nasty cut from one of the raiders across his arm. Before the other kobolds can close in, however, Yevele smashes in the skull of one, then turns to kick and snap the neck of the second after it ducks to avoid Thrax's spear. The monk then twists to the ground to avoid the sword of the raider that sings in toward her. Linan arrives a moment later, but the reach of her broken spear is not enough to harm either of the raiders.
"Who are you people? You're not with the guard!" the raider woman shouts at the party.

"We are the ones who stand against, the DOOM you would welcome to our lands!" hisses Thrax at the raider who questioned them. "We will put an end to your chaos and restore that which you seek to to destroy!"
He turns his attention to Rogram and begins chanting in a strange tribal dialect of the Draconic tongue that was native to his peoples. The holy emblem on his shield and around his neck glowed as divine healing magic washes over Rogram.
Rogram yells out as the blade cuts across his arm, "Moradin's beard!" With a grunt, he finally dislodges his sword from the kobold and feels the soothing blessing of Gond once again. He looks at the raider, his blood boiling. "We are your unexpected nightmare." He raises his sword again, attempting to cut down the closest human.

Dern presses his back against the cart and catches his breath. He checks the side of his head and winces as his fingers gently graze over the split and welt caused from that sling. Dern grits his teeth and steels his resolve while loading in another bolt. Finally, with a deep inhale and slow exhale, he spins around form the cover of the cart and takes aim at the raider by Yevele.

He will then duck back behind the cart for cover once more.

Smoke looks to Thrax after his announcement Yes well, something like that.He says before pulling out his rapier now that the masses have gone and Smoke's allies outnumber the enemy.
He will towards the nearest raider with a swirl of his rapier then lunges forward to trust the rapier into a raider.
Action: Rapier attack against the nearest raider: Attack: 8 Damage: 12 Movement: Move towards nearest raider.
Yevele spins around one raider and plants her staff into the base of his skull, dropping him dead to the ground while Thrax provides additional healing to Rogram. The half-dwarf's statement proves true for the remaining raider, and her head soon tumbles from her body.
Behind the party, up the slight hill toward the Keep, half of the guards move into the structure while the others seem to be preparing the doors to close. A trio of villagers make it into the Keep, carrying the still form of another. Linan casts a worried glance between you and the last bastion of safety from the hundreds of raiders that look to be slowly encircling it.
OOC: Each character has received 28 XP for defeating this band of raiders.
"Let's go!" Rogram commands, blood-splattered and looking half-crazed. He sheathes his sword and stops to pick up the unconscious kobold before running for the keep.
Imagining the doom it would bring to them should the doors close to early Smoke nods at Rogram with a determined look on his face. He sheaths his rapier and starts to run towards the keep doors at full speed on all fours.
He sprints ahead of group determined to keep the door open but doubt in his mind. Having made sure his weapons are tucked away Smoke still worries the guards would see a Tabaxi as a threat, not knowing how diverse local population is. Still this does not deter Smoke, he is focussed on his task and runs to the doors slowing down once he nears them.
Slowing down he walks upright again holding his hands in the air to display he has no weapons shouting Wait, more villagers are coming, we need just a moment. We are escorting villagers and a captive! He will point with one arm towards the group as they approach.
Staying in front of the door at about 10-15 ft distance he will slowly turn sideways to glance at the oncoming raiders. Then back to the guards at the doors We must hold a bit longer!Smoke then takes out his rapier turning his back on the guards (unless they would be hostile before this point).
He readies himself to fight any raider that would come near. Smoke will take quick glances at the group to see how far they are and the guards to plead them to hold untill the group makes it.
Movement: Using Feline Agility to move as fast as possible Action: Trying to convince the guards to keep the door open and seeing if there are raiders nearing the door.
Yevele will see if she can quickly grab her thrown dart before heading back to the fortress, urging Linan to move to the front of the group where the guards might recognize her. The monk will then check to make sure the rest of the group is heading toward the keep, slowing her speed to keep pace with Dern. As they move toward the keep, the redhead will keep an eye out for an incoming raiders.
Dern will follow Yevele's lead and look for any salvageable bolts before moving for the fortress. It has been mostly easy pickings so far, but the numbers are greatly against them. Dern will hustle as fast as he can to keep up with the rest.
OOC: The closing raiders are too close for Dern to take even a minute to search for ammunition here (which he would be aware of), but it's no difference in the end - since he only fired one bolt, it wouldn't be salvageable (half of 1 = 0.5, rounded down = 0).
Leading the way, Smoke passes Cuth and the running children. The guards at the Keep's gate seem startled, but aware that the tabaxi is an ally. "We can't hold any longer! Get them inside!" one shouts, pointing to the edge of the hill that the Keep sits atop. Indeed, it appears that the party and the Swift family are all that will make it inside of the stronghold, and it will be mighty close at that, as the raiders crowd the streets behind the slower-moving members.
The closing doors grow ever closer as arrows, rocks, and other missiles come flying onto the path beside the party, met by one last volley, feeble in comparison, from Greenest's last remaining defenders outside of the gate. After the party makes it through, Dern and Yevele pass through the small gap left by the guards that grind the wheels to slowly close the massive gate, just behind the Swift children that have been ushered forward by their parents. Linan and Cuth themselves pass through a brief second before the last two guards outside of the gate, which shuts with a resounding boom.
Those who take one last look before the doors shut see hundreds of humanoid forms beyond, and another hail of missiles that strike the wood of the mighty portals as they close. The Siege of Greenest has begun.
The sight inside of the Keep is barely less chaotic than the raid outside. Confused yells, crying children, and shouts of command from the guards make it hard to think. The Keep's large open courtyard is filled with hundreds of villagers, mostly human. Stables that look built for a dozen horses hold more than twenty to the left. To the right, a makeshift infirmary holds dozens of wounded, from those with limbs in slings to others missing them entirely, howling in pain. A spiraling staircase inside of a doorway nearby leads upward, to the Keep's wall and lone parapet. A red-haired dwarf with a long, braided beard stands outside of this door, barking commands over the din of the crowd.
OOC: Each character has received 41 XP for escorting Linan, Cuth, and their three children to the Keep safely.
Once inside the keep with the door closed, Yevele briefly leans back against the gate thinking to herself 'Kobolds, why did it have to be kobolds?' The young monk wasn't sure why she hated kobolds so much, perhaps in a previous life they had tormented her. After a moment, she stands up straight and begins to look around the crowd, primarily to see if she could spot Leosin Erlanther. If she doesn't spot Leosin, Yevele will continue looking around for individual or individuals who seem to be in charge.
If the dwarf is the only such individual that the young woman spots, she will head over to him and ask "What can I do to help?"
Smoke will stand clear of the doorway bent over with his hands on his knees for a moment panting after the sprint. When moving upright again he looks around to see the dispair of the people.
He will then turn and walk some steps to get an idea of the situation here. Smoke will try to see how many able defenders they have and the defenses if any to see how the keeps defenders would match up against the force outside. While standing close enough to hear what the commanding dwarf will say to Yevele he quickly adds We,What could we do?
Also, would Smoke have seen any siege weapons/ladders on the raiders side?
Dern scrambles through the gate just before it closes soundly behind him. He gives a rub to his soar leg as he looks around and catches his breath. There's just not too much time to waste away though! Things are in an uproar and the siege has only just begun. So Dern moves over next to Yevele and Smoke to the Dwarf barking orders. "Aye! What can we do? I'm still eager to take out more of those dragon-loving raiders!"
