As you clamber outside beyond the porch, you barely make out a human woman running desperately for her life, towards the Golden Goat. Almost the entire common room gathers on to the porch to review the spectacle. The woman is being pursued by four wolves (wolf). Your vision is lightly obscured by patchy fog, giving you disadvantage on wisdom (Perception) checks. Jianyu sees the woman first from 60 feet away he also sees the wolves only 10 feet behind her. He has his staff ready. Betrit is to Jianyu's immediate left, hand axe-drawn and heading towards the stable, where Branka is tied, which is 60 feet west of the Inn. Garn is to Jianyus immediate right with his axe drawn. Tempest is following behind closely just a further 5 feet away.

Tempest first notices the woman before any wolves. She runs toward her, holding out her hand without thinking. She calls upon the mercy of Mielikki to heal the injured woman and keep her safe(Healing Word6). Tempest is 30 ft from the woman when she stops.
As she runs, she notices the wolves and stops. She wonders if these are those wolves. Tempest tries to determine if she knows these wolves and tries to interpret what might calm them.

Jianyu bursts into the mist with incredible speed. He stops just past the fleeing woman, and grips his staff firmly gritting his teeth, ready to face the attacking beasts.
(Move: 35 feet)
(Action: Dash 30 feet further stopping just beyond the woman)
Garn spots the woman running as if the Vampire Queen herself is on her heels. He knew it! He'd show Amber a temper tantrum, a temper tantrum consisting of the axe to the queens face. His enthusiasm is dampened when he sees the wolves.
That does not deter him from raising his axe and rushing at the beasts with a war cry. Even if they were just wolves he wouldn't let them maul someone. Not in his town.
Wolves chasing a woman into town? Nature herself is being queer tonight but Betrit shakes off the thought and moves up to Tempest, he can worry about what's going on after he helps save this woman. Betrit wasn't shy with his axe, but charging into so many wolves did not seem to be a wise move, but Betrit could help the two who had already charged in...
Betrit took a deep breath, he focused on what nature had remained even in this town, and then spoken an incantation in druidic focusing on a point that would affect as many wolves as possible. Faerie Fire hopefully his allies couldn't miss the green outlined wolves now.
Before Tempest has managed to raise a hand to heal the woman, Jianyu has closed the distance, standing between the woman and the wolves with his staff gripped tightly.
The moment Tempest casts her spell the woman's pace appears to altar slightly as though her depleting will to survive has suddenly been refreshed, but it is too difficult to make out whether the woman has already been mauled by the wolves. Upon examining them, Tempest senses no sign of recognition or any obvious way to calm the animals. If these are indeed the same wolves she had encountered before, during her time with the Shrine of the Leaf, their very nature has altered drastically.
Garn rushes passed Tempest, towards the wolves, he cries out with rage, his axe held high above his head, ready to be brought down upon the skull of one of the beasts. Intimidation: 19. He intercedes at the fleeing woman's right hand side, still 10 feet short of the wolves.
Meanwhile, realising Branka is okay, Betrit shifts to Tempests side, closes his eyes in deep concentration and mumbles a strange incantation. Faerie Fire

When Betrit opens his eyes he notices three of the four wolves are suddenly emanating a strange green light. The whole pack have also haltered their pursuit (clearly intimidated by Garn's war cry) and instead stand snarling at you all. Their mouths are dripping with saliva and matted around their jaws is plenty of fresh blood.

Jianyu springs to the left then leaps forward. He avoids stepping too close to the pack as he strikes. With his staff held high he brings it down on the head of the left most wolf, wielding the stick as though it were a greatsword. He follows up with a powerful kick to the beasts side. before springing back.
(Action: quarterstaff (two-handed) attack: 12 for 10 bludgeoning damage)
(Bonus: Martial arts attack: 19 (15 advantage roll if first target stands) for 4 bludgeoning. Targeting same wolf if still standing, otherwise targeting next.)
(Move: left and into range of wolf one. Into range of two if one falls from first attack. Back with remaining move if no opponent still stands in melee range.)
"P-Please, don't kill them... knock them out, and perhaps I can try to figure something out..." Tempest calls out to her companions. She considers her options with a sad expression. She must injure these animals or incapacitate them, otherwise, they could kill the harmed woman and harm others. She moved up to an uninjured wolf and brought her mace on it, holding back.
(Action: Mace attack 18, Damage 0, holding back and unwilling to kill any of the wolves.)

Garn roars and it has the intended effect, the wolves seemed somewhat uncertain. He hear's Tempest's cry, but he doesn't particularly care. Before hearing Tempests instruction, Jianyu's first strike with his quarterstaff takes out the leftmost wolf with devastating speed, hitting it flat in the centre of its skull. The creature whimpers and crumples to the ground. Jianyu then shifts to the right attempting to kick the next nearest wolf, but as the body of the first wolf falls it catches him just enough to make his feet fumble slightly and miss.
Tempest moves forward with her mace in hand, pleading with her party not to kill but to incapacitate. She moves a further 30 feet and runs out of momentum, just behind Jianyu, still 5 feet from the wolves and out of melee range, she attempts to stretch the swing of her mace and just manages to tap the wolf on the nose, doing absolutely no harm whatsoever.
Garn moves forward and cleaves the right-most wolf with his axe, catching the hind of the creature. It lets out a great whelp, but it does not fall.
Meanwhile, Betrit attempts to persuade the fleeing woman to hold her position, but to no avail. She continues in her retreat, heading directly towards him, in the direction of the Golden Goat Inn.

Jianyu pulls himself to his feet as quickly as he can, to attack. The second wolf yelps wildly as it takes a bludgeoning from Jianyu's mace, and when a sharp elbow catches it, a split second later the wolf collapses in a heap. Jianyu then moves 5 feet to the right, beside Garn's unconscious body, ready to face the next wolf.
Betrit mumbles a few strange words and suddenly Garn is replenished with a spell of healing. He is still lying prone but now has 4 hit points and is conscious. He then continues to focus on his Faerie Fire spell. The wolves are still emanating a green light, which currently gives the party advantage on any attacks they makes against the creatures. A moment later a flickering flame appears in Betrits hand as he mumbles some more strange words. He hurls the flame towards the nearest wolf to Garn and the wolf howls violently as its body is scorched by the flame. Garn and Jianyu can smell the burnt flesh and fur as it fills their noses, but the wolf still lives.
Tempest rushes to Garn's right-hand side and casts her own healing spell on Garn, bringing him to 10 hit points. She does not provoke an opportunity attack from the wolves. Garn still lies prone.
