Dodging the arrows, Aliik immediately goes for a quarterstaff, twirling it in his hands in a way that seems instinctual, eyeing the shadow figures for a moment. He squares his shoulders and shoves the panic down, letting his body lead where his mind would freeze. He moves 25 feet towards the nearest shadow and strikes it with his quarterstaff, his body moving fluidly enough that he can turn into a roundhouse kick.
Mirion watches as the faun scuttles away, deciding the poor girl looks scared enough he just stays where he is. As the giant speaks, he watches in disbelief as the dwarf is lifted and carried away. He just nods to the goliath realizing why they received the warning and afraid that someone else may get taken if he talks. He grimaces as the shackles begin to react to his attempt at comfort, a long grunt of pain releasing from his tightly shut lips as not to let any sound out should it attract the giant again.
He looks at the goblin, anger coating his eyes from repressing the pain. His mind began to race with questions as to if the goblin was the cause of all this. His eyes continued to examine the goblin as he spoke about survival and knowing their pasts. Mirion does not fight as the giant moves to seize him, better he goes then another. With one last look at the rest in the cage words find the courage to escape his lips “We will come back for you, to free you.”
He looks at the rest of those taken and just begins to size them up, trying to figure anything at all out from how they look. As each begins to react to the situation, he takes it in “If we are to be tested, may we all make it through.” He says as they are brought into the arena.
He understands what is about to happen as he looks to the weapons and runs grabbing a shield and scimitar. He just holds them ready as he watches each react. He just latches onto sight of the nearest shadow and moves to attack it.
OOC:
Attack: 22 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Where charges for lay on hands still used also when he was burned or no? Just curious so I can mark right.
The bird man easily injures the shadowy figures to murmurs of the spectators and some clapping filters down into the arena but his second hit goes wide as the shadowy figure disappears then reappears in the same stop!

(OCC: Realize that I'm to go last, but if I don't post now, I won't be able to until tomorrow - I think there won't be anything GoodBovine does that will affect the below)
Rhogar strides to the pile of weapons and moves several about. Having too many choices always overwhelms him. He picks up two short swords and twirls them easily in his hands. These feel good.
He nods and grunts to the half-elf with the bow. Someone watching his back. Good.
He drops the two short swords and picks up a great sword. Ah. That feels even better. As he takes a practice swing he feels piercing pain in his side. He looks down at the black arrow sticking out of him, blood oozing down his leg. That bit deep he thinks. Another one of those and I’ll be down. If he gets out of this alive, he won’t complain about the smell of armor again.
He hefts the sword up, musters the little strength he has left and charges across the sand; swinging with both hands, he slashes at one of the shadowy archers.
Attack: 8 Damage: 11
The follow through of his blade brings him to a stop right next to the archer. He can see the one he just attacked and another one 10’ further down the line.

(Oh, I can take my reaction shot? Cool).
As the bird man knocks the shadowy figure with his quarter staff, Rashar takes the distraction to fire at the figure, doing Sneak Attack damage on a hit.
Attack: 24 Damage: 16
(Also, before my next turn, could you update us on the new status of the battle, like who’s where, and how injured the enemy is? Thanks.)
Leaving the shadowy figures near Aliik, Rinzak, Rhogar, and Mirion still standing.
OOC: With theatre of the mind precise things are hard. I'll look into getting something to create battle maps but for now bear with me. I'll say everyone broke up from the pile if weaponry about 10ft towards the encircling shadows 30ft away. If your PC went into melee then they advanced 20ft away from you. Fair?
Rashar smiles as his crossbow finds it’s mark. “Gotcha!”
He turns his sights to Rhogar’s foe. He promised to cover the Dragonborn’s back and seeing the arrow in Rhogar’s side, it seems like he would need it. Rashar uses his action to fire a crossbow shot at the shadow next to Rhogar’s, adding Sneak Attack damage.
Attack: 19 Damage: 14
Rashar is shocked when the Gith wizard falls on the ground unconscious, bleeding.
”Is anyone going to help him?” He looked around, but everyone else seems to be tied up in battle. It seems like he was the only one currently alone. Well, he wanted to help, but there’s no way for him to do so without healing magic. Rashar will move over to the Gith wizard, and then drop prone to the ground to grant disadvantage for ranged attacks against him. He tries to move as far away from the unengaged shadows as possible, so they can’t charge him in melee.
Aliik watches the shadow figure be dispelled and turns, moving towards the figure who struck at Mirion and swinging his quarterstaff at it. He uses the momentum of his swing to turn and aim another roundhouse kick.
Mirion watches as the shadow is dispelled in front of him and looks around noticing his companion fall. He runs over to Rinzak and places his hand on him "Come on get up." he says as energy moves from his hand to Rinzaks body.
Rhogar watches the shadow in front of him disappear when the crossbow bolt rips into it. Then sees what looks like another killing shot from the elf with the bow. Rhogar admires their skilled handiwork. His hands have always been too clumsy for such finesse. A bow in his care is little more than a narrow club.
Quickly looking around the arena it appears that the elf may have taken care of the last shadow.
Besides himself it looks like the half-elf with the crossbow is the only other one wounded. Rhogar walks over to him, points at his wound, and says 'I can help with that.'
He places one hand on the half-elf's shoulder and wills some of his energy outwards.
(OOC: Lay On Hands for 2 - would pass more but might need to heal myself if more of these shadows show up).
Each figure pulls a shadowy short bow loosing a volley of arrows at the party.
