You don't find anything like a command stone. The auctioneer fled with the rest of the audience.
The shield is circular in design. An embossed dragon's head dominates most of the shield. It looks like a carving of a dragon facing left and breathing fire. You an feel the image when you run your hand over it. It is mostly a dark metal, but the eyes of the dragon are rubies.
Topsy and Eldeth rush towards the giant, but they don't get close enough to engage this round.
Using the guards as a distraction, Jimjar fires a bolt that strikes the giant in its shoulder. The guards slash forward, but one of them misses. The other scores a smoking crater in the giants chest. It reels backward, and then Aimon dashes in and hamstrings the giant with Dawnbringer. It roars in pain, and Dawnbringer hisses in your mind, "He is cursed with a demonic plague. Be careful."
The giant backhands one of the guards, and a resounding crack fills the air as the guard stumbles, but is still up. Now that it knows that Aimon is near, it steps backwards and tries to stomp on you. Attack: 22 Damage: 12
A few more Druergar begin to engage the giant. There are now 2 fancy Druergar and 3 normal guards.

Aimon, distracted by the message Dawnbringer just gave him, doesn't notice the giant stomping down on him until it's too late. He avoids being pinned but still takes a serious bludgeoning from the heavy foot.
"Whoa, that hurt," he says. Then he looks around and shouts in common and then undercommon "The giant's been cursed. He's not going to stop. We need to knock him out or somehow lift the curse."
Trying to judge how much strength the giant still has in him, Aimon takes another swing at the other giant leg, before dashing out of harm's way.
(Action: Attack: 19 Damage: 11 plus 4 Sneak Attack Damage plus a second Sneak Attack Damage because of the Crit 20 5 for a total of 31 damage; then Fancy Footwork prevents giant from making an Opportunity Attack. Bonus Action: Dash plus regular movement to move 60' to safety)
Caelynn continues climbing up to the highest place she can get. She isn't concerned about being noticed anymore, but it gave her a clear shot last time. Hearing Aimon's shout, she aims her next arrow for the giant's leg, hopefully in a non-lethal spot.
Oak makes it to the giant just in time to see Aimon slashing at it for massive damage, then skittering back away shouting something about a curse.
”Knock him out?... Right!!...”. He finds himself with a shield up ((AC20)) and no weapons. But he doesn’t let that stop him. Adopting a reckless stance, he flies into a rage and gores at the giant’s wounded leg with his horns! ((The rest of the party haven’t seen this from Oak yet. It makes him look more like a beast than ever)). He then holds his ground near the giant.
Aimon swings Dawnbringer in a blazing arc that nearly severs a leg at the knee. Both heads roar in pain as it stumbles about to face you. As it does, Caelynn's arrow finds its stomach as the two guards both swing their burning glaives upward in unison. The giant's arms fall fall to ground as smoldering heaps. Both heads down come down to bite the fleeing Aimon into pieces, but Oak rushes in and rams the arrow deeper into it. It releases a blast of smelly breath as the air is knocked of it just as Trill's bolt fires from her invisible form takes in the eye. It freezes a moment with as a peaceful expression washes over both its faces before it collapses to the ground. Oak barely dodges it as it strikes the cobblestone with a dull thunderclap.
Another giant rushes out of the broken gate, but his one looks normal. He comes over to the fallen giant and sucks down to inspect his body with a forlorn expression. As he does, one of the imposing, gigantic dwarves levels his burning glaive towards Aimon and Oak and says, "Stow your weapons, lads."
A patrol of twenty heavily armored dwarves jog over to the group. As they do, both of the big guards extinguish their weapons and snap to attention. One of the new dwarves removes her helmet and holds it under her arm. She has thin and short hair. She has a strong jaw, and one of her eyes has a diagonal slash running across it. She looks stern and harsh. She begins barking questions at the soldiers around her, and they respond in their tongue. After a few sentences, she turns to the others of the party at a distance and gestures for them to approach.
As they approach, her guards fan out behind her as she steps up and extends her hand out to be shaken. She says in a gruff voice accustomed to command, "I am Captain Errde Blackskull of the Stoneguard. Well met."

((Is Trill's Comprehend Languages still up? Has it for an hour, would have ritual cast before entering the city. Just if her questions for the guards gave any more info.))
Your spell is nearing the end of its duration, but you understand that she basically asked what happened. The guards filled her in and told her that the party was of great assistance.
At the sight of what looks like an overwhelming force, Oak stows his new shield, and holds both empty hands up and just breathes heavily, as his rage wears off and everything slowly comes back into focus.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Caelynn watches the giant fall with a wince. Part of her had hoped to only knock it out and figure out how to remove the curse affecting it, but at least the danger was gone. Nimbly hopping down to street level, she approaches the others, slinging her bow over her back.
“Well met, Captain. My name is Caelynn. We’re glad we could help out before too many got hurt,” she greets with a respectful nod, shaking the woman’s hand. Turning to Aimon, she quietly asks, “Are you okay? I saw you get hit.”
She placed her hand on his shoulder and casts cure wounds for 4
“Thanks,” Aimon says to Caelynn. “Giants stepping on me doesn’t seem to agree with my delicate constitution.”
He then turns and bows with a flourish of his arms to the captain.
”I’m glad we were able to help,” he says. “This giant seemed to be enraged some how, almost as if he was under a spell or even a curse. He could have done a lot worse.”
Oak steps forward and salutes, and then shakes hands, “Captain, Sir... It’s an honour to meet you.... I’m Captain Retired, Oak Oxenfield, formally of the 14th battalion land army, Sir...... ....I’m... glad we were around... to help intervene”.
”Though it looked like you were getting things under control. Sir”, he offers politely.
She nods curtly before saying, "The city thanks you for your service. Meet me at the Underhold tomorrow when the ninth bell rings if you want to talk some business." With that, she dons her helmet and says, "Dismissed!" She shouts a few commands in Dwarvish, and then she and her guards begin cleaning up the scene.
The young stone giant stands up and sadly walks to the party. He is wearing a loose, white toga. He says in a deep voice tinged with sadness, "The Stonespeaker would wish to speak with you. Could you come tomorrow? This will get you through the gates." He picks up a stone from the ground and brings up to his mouth. He whispers something to it, and hands it to Aimon. The stone he hands you is the size of your fist. It is shaped in and incredibly complex geometric pattern. He stands there and awaits your response.

Before the Captain leaves, Oak would discretely approach and, off to one side slightly, quietly ask, “Captain Blackskull, I’m sorry!.... ...I’m sorry, if you please, it’s custom where I’m from, but I shouldn’t presume: do you prefer Sir, or Ma’am?”.
Oak will use the opportunity as well to discretely look for any subtle read he can get from her on her character. He’s been around military personnel a lot.
Insight check(?): 13((would he get proficiency (+2) specifically for military insight due to soldier background?)).
He is honestly interested in her preference though, and will salute using her preferred term. And also bow, before returning to the party and their discussion with the smaller giant.
"Of course. I'm sorry about what happened to your friend," Caelynn tells the giant with genuine sympathy in her voice. She assumes the Stonespeaker is some sort of leader among the giants. This whole incident is an unsettling reminder of their recent encounter with Demogorgon, and perhaps speaking with the giants could provide some more insight on what happened.
It's then that she realizes they have no idea where to go. "I'm afraid we're rather new to these parts. Would you mind giving us directions?"
Aimon takes the stone from the giant and slips it into his pouch. He feels some of the giant's sadness in himself. Giant's were never terribly friendly to his community at home, but it's one thing to take down a marauding giant and another to dispatch one that's just running wild because of some demonic possession.
"At least whatever was causing him pain is over now," Aimon adds to Caelynn's condolences.
While Caelynn waits to get directions from the giant and Oak tries to get a last word with the guard captain, Aimon turns his attention back to the slaves to see if their handlers are moving them and if that provides any clues as to how the collars work and how they are activated or deactivated.
"It's Ma'am, Captain Oak," she says, turning her head slightly in your direction. Based off of her mannerisms and the way that she holds herself, you get the feeling she has well earned her position. She moves with the grace of a killer, and her tone betrays that she is used to having her commands executed exactly. She is not the type of woman you want as an enemy. She sees the shield you have and she says, "You can keep that," as she gestures at it.
"Don't fret about your actions. The guards would have killed him anyways. You way was probably swifter and more humane," the giant says. At Caelynn's question, he says, " I can take you anywhere in the Darklake District of you wish." He speaks carefully and thoughtfully. His voice is reminiscent of stones grinding against each other.
Aimon, you to back to the slave pen to find more information. You learn nothing new. You've been here for just a short time and haven't bet learned much of the city yet. One of the slaves closes the door to the one.
The sounds of the city tentatively settle back into its normal cadence. The vendors and buyers begin haggling again, and the hammers clang away. Several Druergar citizens begin helping the soldiers cleaning up the area of debris. Two more older giants exit through the breach and take the body of their fallen comrade back where they came. The slave vendor and his personal guards eventually wander back in the area and come to the slaves. Aimon can see the auctioneer pull out a metal disc and touch a few symbols in it. One of the dunes in the slave collars blink out as he puts his disc away. He then begins leading them behind the walls with his guards corraling the slaves.
"Well, I mainly meant towards where we can find the Stonespeaker tomorrow, but come to think of it, we've been looking for the tavern - the Gholborne Lair, I believe it was called. And somewhere we could acquire new armor and weapons," Caelynn tells the giant, then hastily adds, "If you wouldn't mind." She doesn't want to take up too much of his time, but they are a bit lost in this maze of a marketplace.
