For the past several days, you have been travelling a road that winds lazily across the rolling grasslands to the Greenfields. Sundown is approaching as you slide down a rise and ease into the town of Greenest. In a welcoming room in a fine inn, as you sink into your nightly activities, but you are disturbed by cries of panic and clattering footsteps of running people, before the gut-wrenching sound of gigantic beating wings. Race: variant human
Class: barbarian (path of the ancestors)
Background: noble
Backstory:
"Greenest?" Morgan asked, stunned and more than a bit frustrated. "You want me to go to that nothing of a village and do what?" "Look into our family's interest in the region." His father replied, tone neutral and clearly uncaring that Morgan would have to travel, some distance, to the butt crack of nowhere. "I know we have some land there, but it is little more than a few farms and several orchards." Morgan said, working to keep his temper in check. He half expected that to be the test here, his father coming up with this, obviously unreasonable, request, just in the attempt to get him to lose his temper. When the look on his father's face remained stoic though, Morgan felt the first real glimmers of worry. "You are being serious... You want me to travel to Greenest and look into our land there..." He sighed as the look his father gave him remained unyielding. Morgan ran a hand through his raven-black hair, ruffling the short strand a bit, and looked around the room. They sat in his father's office, in their villa in Waterdeep, a large map taking up one wall, and books lining another. The place was appointed with class and dignity, expensive rugs and furniture, and his father's desk. Behind that desk his father sat, while Morgan sat across from him. There was little doubt in his head as how this was going to end, just how he was going to react to it. "Very well father." Morgan said with a nod. "I will travel to Greenest, check into the state of our lands there. Who shall I speak to once I arrive?"
Name: Kava Myastan Race: Silver Dragonborn Class: Monk Ability Scores:13159131410 RP Sample - Deciding to go to Greenest:
The nightmares came and went, like they always did. Kava was used to them at this point, and though she never said it out loud to Toh, she was convinced that they were a punishment for what she did before she ran away. They were full of the screams of the captured and dying. When she was startled awake too early in the morning, she sat up in bed and started to rummage through her rug-sack, pulling out a cracked symbol of Tiamat. She stared at it for a long time, before laying back down, clutching the one Toh gave her to replace it, silently reciting prayers to Bahamut to forgive her transgressions and give her a chance to redeem herself.
In the morning, when she woke up for the day, Toh mentioned to her about a change of scenery. Get out and explore the world. He mentioned a nearby town, Greenest. Maybe going there would ease her troubled mind. She smiled and nodded, doing her best to ignore the thoughts in the back of her mind. Toh made a bag joke, and they both laughed and went about their normal morning routines.

Name: Tohadur Phrahdrandon Race: Gold Dragonborn Class: Paladin RP Sample - Deciding to go to Greenest: He didn't know why Bahamut had sent her too him. He had asked but the great dragon had never seen fit to give him an answer. No matter his own personal confusion though this was what Bahamut had charged him with so this is what he would do.
She had never told him but he was quite good at reading people and he could tell her heart was troubled. The late nights when he stayed up to pray while she tossed and turned only confirmed it. Perhaps it was time to leave the woods. Greenest seemed like a good place to go, after all the name had the word rest in it. Kava didn't disagree too much when he suggested it and she even laughed when he pointed out the rest joke. That must mean she needed a break.
"You want me to go where?", asked Adracos incredulously. The hafling sitting at the opposite side of the table kept tapping his fingers across the ledger in front of him. The light of several candles illuminated the windowless room just enough for him to get the feeling that she hadn't blinked once during their whole conversation. It unnerved him. After a few awkward moments she finally broke the silence. "You will go to Greenest.", she said calmly in a tone that brooked no argument. "You will meet one of our contacts there and you will retrieve the documents that he will hand to you."
Adracos tried to swallow his discontent and smiled amiably. "Madara old friend, you can't be serious. I don't even know...", before he could finish his sentence, the hafling viciously slammed her fist on the table. "You will be silent!", she yelled. "You will be thankful for not being killed!" Adracos twitched uncomfortably at the threat. It seemed like tensions were still riding high after that little hiccup at the docks. That was unfortunate and probably meant that some degree of danger to his life still persisted.
Maybe it was for the best to leave Baldur's Gate for a while. Adracos shifted back and forth in his chair while clearing his throat. "How do I get there?", he asked meekly.

Jack struggled for about the millionth time to get out of his straight jacket. “Hello? Look, I think there’s been some sort of mistake. I’m supposed to be let out today.” A caretaker came in to check on him and relieve circulation when he told his story again about being scheduled to be let out, and the caretaker began laughing. Then they couldn’t stop laughing. The caretaker fell over and could hardly breathe. Jack loosened himself from the jacket and exited the room. Jack was a bit surprised at the means, but not surprised that he was out. From there it wasn’t hard to get out of the hospital altogether, and start down the road. Jill has been telling him for weeks that it was important he go meet some people in Greenest. Usually Jill just told him to kill people, so it was kind of a nice change of pace. Jack didn’t remember hurting the hospital guard, but suddenly, he had weapons and armor, and a uniform. It was weird wearing shoes again, it’d been awhile. Still, it was good to be out. As he looked at the road sign and read “Greenest.”
“Sounds like a nice place! ... What? Are you sure? But... I don’t make friends that easily... oh, you’re just saying that.” - and so it is that Jack and his imaginary friend, Jill, went to Greenest

When you don't have a destination in mind, any direction is as good as any other. The paladin said he was going to Greenest, so he went with him. The Silver Flame would be needed there when they arrived, he knew. It always was. Part of the reason why he took up its cause after the Last War was that the Silver Flame - and he with it - was indeed needed everywhere. This gave him new purpose - and he felt a much better one. He wondered if he would find any other warforged along the way. That would be a delight, since he believed his people were especially in need of a new, noble purpose.
They've been carrying on a respectful debate for days regarding the merits of the Flame and its teachings. Though they were not scholars, they shared an approach to faith and righteousness which was more intuitive, and could thus understand each other better. As they traveled, he addressed the paladin, sometimes actually preaching at him. "Even the smallest act of goodness is a victory against evil, my friend. Not every problem calls for a hammer to the face. What of the man who is tempted to wickedness by envy or greed? A tiny change in his mindset, almost effortless, to genuinely appreciate the things he has, rather than fixating on things he does not, and he avoids the pitfall. Then you would not need to smite him. And the world is made that much better, and the Silver Flame that much stronger."
Ahead of them, Greenest came into view. It was late and though his people didn't need sustenance he did tire of the journey. He looked forward to rest...

This angers the thug even more "I know you cheated, lll show you what I do to cheaters!"
As the thug goes to grapple Laugher; Laugher pulls a dagger with the quickness. Placing the blade under the thugs throat the bar goes silent. "Well now, if you want to get up set blame Tymora that you met me...." the thug begins to release a cold sweat. Seeing the thugs face, laugher begins to chuckle "Haha, I am just playing big guy. "Hahahahaha... but my goddess just isn't as forgiving as I am." Laugher stabs down on the thugs hand pinning him to the table. Crying in pain the thug grips his wrist, the patrons watch as Laugher picks up his things "Oooo I bet that hurt... well I guess this it's about time I take my leave. Blessing to you good sir."
Laugher pats the thugs pinned hand. Seeing that everyone in the bar were kind of stunned Laugher chuckles "Hey now let's turn those frowns upside down. RP - As his mentor lay dying on the cot, his robes slick with blood from the raid, Tengar could only watch in vain as the last gasps of life escaped his lips. “Flee, son! Far from this place! Several days travel to the south there is a verdant town called Greenest. Go there! Always remember that there is an alternative to living a life of wrathful violence. You have learned much, your mother and father would be proud.” Tengar clutches his mentors hand and promises him he will do as he says. As the death rattle ends, he rips the blood-soaked amulet from his neck and places it around his own neck. He spends several hours making a pyre and around sunup, he lights it, says a few words, and turns around and walks away, never looking back. Tengar’s anger grows as he treks along the path out of the mountains and into the lowlands. He tries to keep his masters words in the forefront of his thoughts, but the feeling of revenge is too great. He vows to stamp out those who would do violence against the innocent - with extreme prejudice. Many days later he finally makes his way to the town and it lives up to its name. Lush greenery and foliage abound and, despite some stares, he is able to peacefully find the inn, where he orders an ale and some house stew. He relaxes into his chair when a terrified scream rends the air....
Just an observation, but have you ever noticed that if you have players roll for ability scores in the recruitment thread, it skews towards higher results because people who get low rolls withdraw their application?

I noticed this with my PbP.

What do you mean like people drop out because of their low rolls? I actually like low rolls just when all you’re stats are low you might as well play as a commoner lol.

Just an observation, but have you ever noticed that if you have players roll for ability scores in the recruitment thread, it skews towards higher results because people who get low rolls withdraw their application?
I noticed this with my PbP.
“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
What do you mean like people drop out because of their low rolls? I actually like low rolls just when all you’re stats are low you might as well play as a commoner lol.
Felix Windfall(Human-V Lv.7 Rogue) killed in ToA, Vallan Houndstrider (Halfling Ghostwise Lv.1 Fighter) in DiAIt does undermine my plan as I hoped to dip cleric but don't have the stats for it. Considering bard instead for SADness
Ability scores: 13 12 9 15 13 11
