Rhogar had still been glaring at the apparition as 'it' retreated, but would soon put it out of his mind once the party seemed ready to continue explorations. Mostly. But in any event, at the lack of initial success in finding stairs, Gorrah began sending psychic complaints to the party, much to Rhogar's idle amusement and chagrin. However, left with little choice except to let her vent or distract her with head scritches, the dragonborn chose the former to keep his eyes peeled until...
"I'm not sensing anything out of the ordinary with the doors, so dealer's choice on which we try first. But, I would caution against casually opening both at the same time just in case, and just go with the eastern most one there."He suggest, ready to follow through on stepping up to open it if no other is of a mind to do so.

Chill grinned as Gorrah complained. "I don't see you exactly helping. I think you just want the box with unending foods. The strawberries did look good." He says with a chuckle.
Unbothered by anything else Chill steps to the east door and opens it when the rest of the group is ready.
"Welcome back, lass," Krom says with a smile, giving the paladin's arm a firm pat. "Now, let's get out of here." The dwarf follows the rest of the group as they continue exploring the remaining rooms. "Still no stairs to the upper floors." Krom mutters after a while, with a hint of frustration mirroring Gorrah's grumbling. Shield and hammer at the ready, Krom keeps a few steps behind Chill as the tabaxi moves to open the east door.
"No stairs in this room," Krom says with a note of disappointment after Chill opens the door. He gestures at the racks inside. "Some kind of wardrobe, I suppose. Maybe those staffs are enchanted. What do you think Rhogar? Is it worth checking them first, or should we check the last door first?"
Chill specifically gets the image of a cartoonish looking Kazri pulling down the bottom half of an eye lid with one finger, while also blowing a raspberry in return for his commentary. After which, she grumpily settled deeper into Rhogar's hood to pout. Meanwhile, Rhogar nods, and without further hesitation stepped up to inspect the staves from the door way if at all possible, trusting in the linger remnants of his spell woven earlier would yet be enough to pick something. Though if all the previous hully-ba-loo the spell had long since faded, that once more he broke out and released its magic once more.
If nothing comes of it, then he'd say as much(.. not that he wouldn't confirm it if the opposite wasn't true as well!) before letting out a defeated sigh. But then, he perk and mention, "That said, there historical value cannot be undersold, so we should perhaps collect them later once all this over with... assuming nothing too exceptionally, uhh... destructive to the city in the wake of efforts. Heh."

Out of curiosity, Kazri takes one of the staff and inspects it for practicality. If it is still in good shape. (Not sure what to roll)

There is enough of Rhogar's last use of the wand to detect magic within this room. Looking at the staffs they are described as this:
Staff 1 is a straight stick of pale ash with a stern-looking owl’s head carved into its top.
Staff 2 is a smooth, polished length of blue-tinted wood that’s as strong as steel, with black veins running through it and an octopus carved into its top.
Staff 3 is made of translucent purple glass, which splits into three branches at the top that circle around one another to form a hollow spiral with an orb of lighter purple glass tucked inside it.
Staff 4 is carved from golden laspar wood, with carvings of fish swimming upriver along its length.
Staff 5 is made of weirwood, a hardy substance similar to oak. Its shaft is gnarled and twisted, its top carved to resemble a human hand grasping a snake.
Staff 6 is made of chardalyn
Only the sixth staff emanates any glow indicating that within it are any magical properties. Your experience and knowledge of chardalyn allows you to surmise that it is what the staff is made of that gives it it's magical properties, though what other powers this staff has are unknown.
Rhogar scowls as he gestures to the sixth staff. "It aught not come as any surprise, but that one there is the only enchanted one of the lots. But between you and me, I'd prefer we leave it be for now." He suggests. "I won't deny that it could be a boon in the short run, but in the long run, well... the fewer variables we have to contend with the better."He further advises. However, if any yet were insistent about either retrieving the staff or further investigating the chamber, then Rhogar wouldn't stop them. Rather instead, the dragonborn would post up beside the doorway and keep watch from there while anyone else of a mind to would enter the room.

"I agree Rhogar, it's better to leave the one made of chardalyn there. We could take one of the others for Vellynne, she would certanly appreciate the craftmanship." Krom adds as the dragonborn finishes speaking. The dwarf points at the remaining door. "But before that, we should check the last door. If we don't find stairs there we'll have to think a way to reach the upper floors."
"Very well Mr. Nimbatuul." Without seeing any of value on the first staff, Kazri returns it to where she took it from. "Let's us try to find out a way to the Den."

Chill begins collecting the staffs, except the 6th.
"I've got a bag of holding to put these in. But I didn't think we need give Vellynne everything. She may have been helpful and a good ally so far. But I imagine most of what she has done has been to reach her own goals. We have traveled the same path for a while. But eventually we will go our separate ways."
Having collected the 5 staffs he moves to the last door and opens it when the party is ready.
Chill collects most of the staves, but chooses to leave the last. Chardalyn is not something you wish to carry around.
Opening the last door you look inside. Shifting green, purple, and blue light spills into this room through a single window. Bolted-down tables hold an array of equipment: beakers of alchemical fluid, alembics, cut crystal needles, surgical tools, coiled leather tubes, and more. Behind the tables stands an ornate suit of armor. Where the head should be is a swollen human brain floating inside a canister of translucent fluid.
"A laboratory of some kind and, if I have to come to understand the Netherese wizards at all, likely guarded by an arcane construct." Krom says as he glances into the chamber, gesturing towards the strange armoured being. "I wonder what kind of alloy they use for crafting it..." The dwarf shakes his head. "But, I'm disgressing, my friends. How do we reach the upper floors of this forsaken tower? We found no stairs, no secret passages." Krom adds with a bit of disappointment. "There is that large window at the north end of the ballroom, overlooking a wide gap in the spire. And across it, a similar window. Perhaps the stairs are on the other side..." Krom sighs, folding his arms. "Unfortunately, I'm unable to craft a bridge capable of covering that distance."
"That is indeed... decidedly not a stairway. Unless one was to consider that weapon as a quick way to the afterlife."Rhogar said almost immediately after Krom reached the same conclusion, though he sounded initial awestruck at the sight of the armored entity, before taking on a more matter-of-fact sort of tone towards the end of his spiel. Once Krom brings up the window, the dragonborn's countenance takes on a speculative air before he speaks up once more.
"While I think you are right, and I do have a spell that I can use so that the strongest of us can carry the others across, I do suspect there might be more to that windowed area. As I cannot imagine it simply a coincidence that a like window had been installed across the way for purely aesthetics."He expressed, if though quietly as if concerned the nearby construct(?) might over him. "It would be risky, but... we could ask the professor to ask that fine, eh, fellow in there about it. And if it should turn hostile, I'm confident we can dispatch it easily enough. Alternatively, we could also ask those, ugh, specters as well. A less risky endeavor, but no more like to yield answers than the other. But, worth a try."
Soon after saying as much, Gorrah sends everyone feelings of curiosity coupled with the crude image of her being in place of the brain pulling levers and push buttons to control it the metal body. She then peeks out further from Rhogar's hood to regard Krom with an excited gleam in her eyes.

"Agreed Mr. Nimbatuul. That construct seems to have a brain. Perhaps it can be talked to." Kazri takes one step inside of the colorful room, shield and sword at the ready. She asks Oli to stay outside, and away from this fight. If there is one.

"It may already be too late for that, Chill" Krom replies as Kazri takes a step inside the room. "But I suppose we can still try to talk to it." The dwarf pulls the Professor Orb out from his backpack and, after explaining the lack of any clear way to reach the upper floors, gestures towards the suit of armour. "Professor, try asking it, in Elvish first, if it knows a way to reach the upper floors of this tower."

Chill opens the east door. Immediate disappointment as there are no stairs.
This irregularly shaped room contains six staffs stored in racks along its walls, with room for more.
