Donos is chomping at the bit to keep moving but, these are his comrades in arms now and some do seem to need a rest. And besides, time does not appear to be something they’re short of.
”While you take a short rest, I will gladly stand watch,” he says as he peers down the passage Rhaecus is interested in.
”More of them this way, you think?”
Donos smiles and moves between the passage ways looking down each one.
Rhaecus claps his hands. "Ah, of course. If I had known I wouldn't have rushed to burn those corpses! But, then again they do not make for entertaining company, do they? Perhaps. perhaps not. I would be more curious to find why they are here in the first place. If all monstrosities have souls, this would certainly be where they would end up..."
He nods and sits himself down cross legged on the ground. "What are your thoughts on our experiences thus far?"
(Also if I've been counting correctly we're at 100xp right now?)
Zaela will study the ring on her finger for awhile during the short rest, trying to see if she can figure anything out about them, beyond what she already knows (Arcana 6).

(Sorry, things have been busy on my end and I've been getting really bad sleep. I'll try to get back things back up and running smoothly)
You all sit down for a short while to catch your breath and lick your wounds, and things are relatively uneventful until they aren't. You're all doing your things, chatting and other lame stuff that isn't stabbing things like that, when the ceiling opens up like a giant bone sphincter and shits out a person who promptly snaps her neck on the ground and lies on top of the half eaten corpse. Like all the people looking people you've seen down here, she is gaunt and pale, her clothing and skin stained with ash and dust.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Donos looks from the ceiling to the body to the remains of the dead harpies.
”Hmm, I may be mistaken but I think we may have just removed a link in the disposal system chain of this place,” he says.
”With no harpies eating the bodies coming through that hole, this area my full up. We should be on our way.”
Donos looks down the tunnel that was directly across from the one they entered in, and for lack of a better reason than usually tackling straight on he gestures to that as their destination.
If no one suggests otherwise, Donos fixes his shield in place, and starts down the tunnel.
"This is not the Tartarus I had imagined... Though perhaps it is better this way. I had thought there was nothing but pain down here, eternal agony. Perhaps it is a good thing that some can 'die' quickly."
Rhaecus quickly sets the fresh body on fire, saying a quick prayer while doing so. After which he will head down the same corridor as Donos is intending to go (if nobody objects to that).
(Sorry I've been super busy working on a big paper)
Arteusa stares up at the ceiling for a long moment, eyes narrowed, and then looks down at the body. "This is a very strange place," she comments, shaking her head. "The tales I heard were...very different, though I suppose not everything can be as the tales suggest." Still, she wasn't sure what to make of things such as this. Or the harpies. Well, perhaps the harpies were normal.
She shakes her head and heads off after Donos and Rhaecus.
Zaela waits for Rhaecus's return while watching down the direction he went. She wished she had told him to watch out for traps, but she's sure he could handle himself. She stands up and leans on her staff while watching him leave.

Kaneís hangs back after the party, wandering behind the three more durable allies. The area was certainly interesting. The harpy was attempting to flee somewhere, and she hoped whatever the harpy was headed towards would be as easy to kill as the harpies.
Donos and Rhaecus continue on, Rhaecus tumbling and tripping over every bone in his path, until you reach... a wall. The passage swiftly dead ends, stopping in a wall of interweaved bones.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Remembering the last encounter with a bone wall, Donos keeps his distance but does prod at the wall with his trident, looking for doorways or anything else unusual (beyond the obviously unusual building material).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rhaecus searches around for some kind of hidden mechanism or perhaps trap. These harpies don't strike him as natural engineers but it does no good to judge people by their looks...
Perception? Investigation? Just add the appropriate modifiers I guess: 10

“If the beasts and creatures of the material world end up here in death, this might become very interesting very quickly.” Donos responds.
”We would have the chance to beat the same foes the heroes before us did,” he adds. “Perhaps even the Lernaean Hydra.”
With renewed interest Donos gazes down the other passages, dreaming of defeating some of Heracles’ adversaries more quickly than he had.
(Should be 120 xp, I accidentally gave you 30 instead of 60 the combat before.)
Anything you're doing besides a short rest?

(Donos Investigation: 6 or Perception 22 - as more generally seeing if he notices any doorways)
Both Donos and Rhaecus poke and prod about, but neither find any sort of secret entrance. The wall reacts a bit to Donos' prods, though.
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Donos looks over at Rhaecus and shrugs.
"Looks like a dead end," he says. "Literally."
He turns and heads back to join the others in the octagonal room.
