Before the reunited party does anything else, Ghee takes a moment to sabotage the bridge a little further. He tires to remember what parts were the most helpful during his acrobatic crossing over it, and decides to fray the ropes at those spots, though he avoids going too far. Some oil is also spilled, should any potential pursuers be playing with flames.
It is at this point that the group's focus is interrupted by someone's loud stomach noises.
(OOC: Everyone that ate dinner at the mansion should make a CON saving throw. It does not count as poison, so that source of advantage and/or resistance does not come into play. This roll applies to anyone who either said they ate the food or failed to specify that they did not eat or drink anything, so I believe it applies to Darrik, Bleep, Ang, Ghee.)

Half of the group comes to the same realization simultaneously. The food that was so generously offered to them at the lord's dining hall must have been laced with some sort of foul magic, and its delayed effect is finally kicking in. Ang, Bleep, and Ghee can't help but bend over as their insides contract and twist. Cold seats take them over suddenly, and the sensation does not feel like it is going to pass anytime soon. The worst of the pain does go away, but the overall effects linger.
-> Ang, Bleep, and Ghee now have a point of exhaustion.
Somehow, Darrik feels fine despite being the one who ate the most.

Khan gives the afflicted a speculative look for a moment or two, then shook her head with a frown. "Grung not easily poisoned. Nor dwarves. But fancy shaman -- wizard find way. Either that or use foul magic." She croaks lightly, then bows her head as if in shame. "Anticipated much. Warned not enough. Too subtle. Need do better."After a few moment's pause of self reflecting, the Orange grung stands up straighter and squares her shoulders.
"Now not time. Get worse maybe before get better. Must find way out. Find evil shaman. Make talk." She then looks pointedly to Saros. "Then Khan deliver promised death. No matter obstacles."On that firm note, she more forcibly than most other times 'requests' her fellow grungs help strap the surviving grung to her back again. But as for the other, she look first to Ghee, and then over to Saros with a more a tentative look. "You... You have purifying magic?" She gestures over to the corpse.

Stifling a burp behind his hand, Ghee instead rips a very wet sounding fart.
"Not tha best thing tae happen in a grass skirt... Aye, I think we pay them above us a wee visit afore too long. But ah ken now there's always a trick wi' them. Best we beware."
Looking distinctly uncomfortable for a moment, Ghee belches loudly.
"One end or the other turns out... Shall we shift oorselves somewhere further along tha line?"
A look of sorrow briefly passes across Saros's face as Khan reaches out "Tis not the nature of my magic I'm sorry, we would need a priest for such a task, but perhaps I can at least stop the wizard finding us magically through B'lip, may I cast a spell that prevents such scrying?"
If Khan gives permission, Saros will cast NonDetection on the surviving grung.
"We have done what we can to prevent them from following this way, let's be off, but wary of the way ahead, they obviously use the tunnels so would know where this leads"
Saros send Omen ahead to scout with instruction to share anything telepathically that he finds in the tunnels, particularly people, but to flee from them, and to not stray from being able to communicate (Saros will ping Omen mentally for a response every 10 seconds or so, just to make sure he is in range and still 'alive').
With his stomach doing somersaults in his gut and his brother's mutilated body in front of him, he's had more than enough of the wizard who tried to trap him and his companions.
"Bleep is considering setting manor on fire after wizard and elf dead... Anyone else in favor of plan?"

As the immediate pain subsides somewhat, Ang, Bleep, and Ghee rejoin Darrik and the others in adding details to their vengeance plan. The dwarves can't help but add their own, very natural sound effects to the escalating vengeance plot.
Before moving ahead, Khan makes sure that stabby-Blip is reattached to her back for ease of locomotion. She also asks for any sort of magic that may help guaranteeing a peaceful rest for Blahp. That not being exactly his specialty, Saros does the best he can with the still-living grung victim instead. The aim is to foil any scrying attempt by Lord Weirding, should he try to focus his potential magical efforts on the grung he had imprisoned.
Once that is done, Saros also requests a few extra minutes while Omen is sent to scout ahead once more. It takes some time, but eventually Saros learns that the tunnel ahead opens up onto another cavern, this one with a lake. The tunnel leading into that cavern coverts into a bridge passing over said lake. This lake chamber is not very large, with the tunnel that becomes a bridge soon leading into a tunnel entrance once again, on the far wall. Omen could hear a few distant voices coming from the continued tunnel, past the lake chamber.
Though visibly disappointed, Khan agreed to both of Saros propositions, and for once without some underlying tension or threat behind the gesture. In the meantime, she knelt as much as her awkward package would allow over the dead, and with her hands pressed together, seemed to wordlessly pray over it. Whenever the gnome would relay Omen's findings, the Orange Grung scowled and halfway reached for a weapon.
"Enemies. Sooner than expected. Hmn. No matter. We get to lake. Maybe ambush them there. Or maybe proceed on to them. Either way, only need one alive." She stated, before then grung barking an order for Ang and B'leep to see to carrying the dead. At the very least they needed to get him as far if they were to eventually set the fallen someplace more fitting for a fallen warrior of the tribe.

Upon hearing the news from Saros, the grungs quickly begin to discuss their next move. Khan suggests hurrying to the lake chamber before the enemies reach it, giving the group a chance to ambush them. Ang pipes in with a different suggestion: a slower approach involving stealth and reconnaissance. Either way, Bleep begins to prepare Blahp's body for transport, and notices that his fallen brother has a gnarly wound on his head.
Strapped to Khan's back, something the group said sparks a reaction on Blip. He begins to repeat his stabbing motion more rapidly, and actually says the word "stab" once.
Without waiting for Khan's assessment Saros agrees with the grungs, nodding "Information increases certainty, so spying ahead is my vote...but take Omen with you if you go, that I can relate what you see, just tuck him under your arm...."

Khan frown only deepens at Saros interruption. So, it is with arms crossed she asked, "Was not it point of request? For bird to go ahead? Now we know. Could not bird have gone further before? You not make much sense. If bird can't see past point others go, why bother with it past this point?" She then looks to her Grungs with more mixed feelings. "And you two ill. Already dangerous as-is. B'Lahp and B'lip thought much of selves. Now they this way." She shook her head, and then looked away from all.
Given a moment or two to actually think, she'd sigh in defeat. "... Fine. You go, but be safe. At first danger you run. Understood?" She demanded more than ask, staring at the two Grungs. She only needed a nod of acceptance before waving them off curtly, least she change her mind.
