Moving towards the troll, Morgan knows he cannot reach it. He grips his greatsword with his left hand, tugging out a javelin with his right. He throws the javelin at the troll.
Everyone's working together in order to drop the Troll. The onslaught is enough to vanquish the troll. The stirges attached to its body seems to prevent the troll from regenerating. Jalester uses his longsword and decapitates the troll while Yagra is smashing the bloated stirges with her mace. After which the two roll the troll across the tavern floor and drop it back into the well.
Obaya, on the other side of the well calls out. "Tink Wauken was watchin' over us dis day!" she says cheerfully, as Yagra scoffs and Jalester wipes blood off his longsword.
"Doubt your money God had anything to do with this, priest." Yagra says in disbelief as she walks back over to her table. Jalester shrugs, not having a comment. He walks back over to the bar.
Durnan sets his heavy crossbow back into the bar and looks at Mardak, Cath, Rashar, Morgan, Jarett, and Krivnaar. "Well fought." Durnan says in a monotone voice, although he's a man of few words, he's acknowledged their participation and is grateful enough that he motions Bonnie to provide free flagons of ale to all those that helped.
Threestrings finishes off his song, and waves a gesture to everyone "Woo, we slayed the troll!" he says with glee. Meloon, the drunkard who is now raising his head off the bar. "Troll? Where?" Meloon nonchalant scans the tavern, noticing that it's almost empty now.
Rashar takes a deep breath, letting the adrenaline flow out of him. He puts away his crossbow and dagger while he waits for his heart to stop pounding. Calling out to Jarret, he says, "I'm not sure what your name is, but you were mighty timely with that spell. You took out those blood-suckers before they could seriously harm anyone."
He looks mournfully down the well, where somewhere a group of adventurers have just met a brutal and violent end. "Shouldn't we bring their remains back up, so they could have a proper burial?"
Krivnaar straightens up as the troll is vanquished. He looks at Rashar with a shrug. "Adventurers know the risks. Including bodies left for the next group to scavenge. Besides, might be more trolls down there. A vicious cycle..."
Morgan moves over to stand with Rashar and nods to the other man. "Yes, it is definitely a risky gamble going into the well." He says as his own eyes glance to the way the troll was just tossed. He sighs as he gives Rashar another nod, and then heads back to his table. He picks up his pint and moves to join the others who fought the troll. "Well done." Morgan tells them as he takes a seat. "My name is Morgan." He says, though he expects most know of him, and his family, if they have spent much time in this city at all.
Mardak hopped off the table and walked to the side of the well and looked down while saying a small prayer under his breath. He turns around and grabs a mug of ale from Bonnie and looks to the others. "I can write myself a good deal about this evening" Mardak gives a smile and sits down in one of the nearest chairs and looks towards Yagra "So what was the deal with that Krentz-guy and his goon squad? Who did they kill?"
Yagra is seated back at her table and raises an eyebrow as Mardak asks about her affiliation with the Xanathar's Guild. "I tell ya what, smallfry..." she then raises her arm up, and plants her elbow onto the table. "If ye can beat me in a match of arm wrestlin', I'll tell ya." she smirks, as she has her hand in position, ready to see if Mardak will accept the challenge.
Rashar responds to Jarret. "I am Rashar, and it is a pleasure to meet you, Jarret. Now, let's watch our dwarf friend engage in his test of strength against Yagra." He sits back and slides a gold piece to Durnan. "A round for everyone, on me!" He was interested in finding out more about this "Xanathar's" Guild.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mardak laughs out loud as he walks over to the table "Ma'am, i am a member of the Scriveners’, Scribes’, and Clerks’ Guild in Waterdeep and i spent more time reading books and scrolls then doing proper physical workouts. But for the fun and because my curiosity gets the best of me i will accept your challenge" Mardak sits down across from Yagra and puts his elbow on the table. The fact his hand cannot even reach the Half Orcs hand fully makes him laugh even harder.
He looks around his newfound friends and laughs and looks back at the bar and eyes Bonnie "I probably need something cold to put on my arm after this"
Krivnaar gives a shallow bow to the assembled group. "Interesting to see, our band up here seems to have done better than those bold adventurers below. Something to be learned from that, perhaps - concerning the wisdom of restraint, I think." He then looks on with interest as Mardak appears to be holding his own against the muscular half-orc Yagra. "Ah, you see? The pen is mightier!" he says with a grin.
The arm wrestle starts with Mardak applying as much effort as possible. Yagra finds it amusing that the dwarvish cleric is trying so hard but isn't able to provide much force into the pull. Out of pity, Yagra begins to fake being overpowered, and her arm starts to fall down. Her face grimacing as her hand itches closer and closer to the surface of the table. Inevitably, the back of her hand softly touches the table, and she scoffs.
"Yer a strong one, aren't ya?" Yagra chuckles, as she then starts flailing her arm about as if Mardak nearly ripped her arm out of socket.
Yagra's Performance Check to see if she fooled the spectators: 19
Only Rashar and Mardak would've been able to see through Yagra's ruse and discern that she let Mardak win. (based it on Passive Insight).
"Okay, so... Usually, anyone can join the Xanathar Guild, which, despite its name, doesn’t have official guild status in Waterdeep. Before membership is granted, however, an applicant must pass a test that always involves the perpetration of a serious crime. Possibilities include murdering a guild member who has failed Xanathar in some fashion, collecting a ransom, robbing a hire-coach, or looting a warehouse..." Yagra explains, and from behind her, a figure emerges.
"They also like to kidnap Waterdavian citizens." the man exclaims as he approaches the table. He's quite short for a man. Well-dressed, and well-mannered. The man strokes his mustache, adjusts his floppy hat, and tightens his scarf. "Sorry for the intrusion, my friends. I was on the other side of the tavern here working on my next book 'Volo's Guide to Spirits and Specters', and that's when I witnessed greatness!" the man says cheerfully.
"I'm sure you're wondering. Volothamp Geddarm, chronicler, wizard, and celebrity, at your service. But you may call me Volo." Volo tips his hat as he introduces himself. "I'd like to have a word with each of you over at my table." He gestures to the other side of the tavern where his table is, he has a big pile of books stacked on the table.
He motions to Mardak, Rashar, Morgan, Jarett, Krivnaar, and Cath. "Please, come sit with me, friends. I have a proposition for ya!" Volo says as he pivots on his heel and moves over to his table.
"Xanthar Guild requirements don't sound so different from those of the city watch," Krivnaar muses idly. "Shaking down civilians - or collecting taxes. Kidnapping - or throwing people in the dungeons. Murdering - or lawful subjugation. Two sides of the same coin! I just hope you're not recruiting for them, Volo..." Krivnaar follows nevertheless, as he's never one to turn his nose up at potential opportunities.
Rashar frowns as he listens to Yagra talk about the Xanathars guide. After his skirmisher unit in the Griffon Cavalry was disbanded, many of his comrades and "friends" took their talents to similar criminal enterprises. Rashar would never do such a thing. So, when he hears Krivnaar make his comparison, he yells out.
"What do you mean, two sides of the same coin? One is full of degenerates and villains, and the other promotes the word of law throughout the city!"
Still a little angry, he stands and listens to the new arrival, Volo. The frivolous man made him a bit skeptical, but the proposition sounded interesting to him.

Cath's grin turns to a scowl as he slings his shield onto his back and drops his hammer into its loop on his belt.
"Never got a chance to smack the troll! And right here in the middle of Waterdeep, how often can such a thing occur? At least I squashed that bug."
He accepts the ale offered though as he sits back at the table.
“Jarret, and your name is...?” Jarret asks in return. “Your work with that crossbow was fantastic, best that I’ve ever seen!”
