After spending the last 2 hours in the tavern, the group advances down to the docks following the directions listed on the paper given to them.
Upon arriving to the particular dock, they notice the familiar man with the skeleton hand standing on the dock next to the ship. He greets the group "Oi, welcome... welcome! I am Captain Bonehand.. I guess you will never guess how I got this name!" He lets out a laugh. "Now welcome to my wonder ship that sails these waters, The Silent Hind." He points to the ship behind
In the calm waters lies a ship with two large sails with a forward and rear ballista. Aiming towards the open water is a large horned skull that stares with sunken eyes into the dark. There is a single enclosure on the ship with that with the large helm of the boat on top of it.
"Now, we will leave shortly out into the waters, but once we leave the protection of the southern walls, who knows what manner of creatures may attack the boat on our journey so I will need you all to stay on guard. The trip to Sinbell's Estate will take about two days. That was the last known location of the captain you are looking."

The captain seems to be hiding more about the story with why they are going to this island and why it is of importance.
The first night at sea was relatively calm. As the group passed the southern walls, no disturbances were detected. As the next day came, the "daytime" as you could call it was stale and uneventful. The group sailed towards their destination in a timely fashion. The following night brought in an ominous fog. The spotter on the main staff rang the warning bell, making sure the group knew about a potential threat in the water.
As the water grows choppy, please tell me your starting position based on the map below.
Tolstoy sits in the middle of the boat, behind Tiriel and in front of Herman. “Marriage is a boat that takes two people for a stormy sea. If one of the two makes a sudden movement, the boat sinks.”
Hearing the toll of the bell, Tolstoy activates his Primeval Awareness.
Primeval Awareness As an action, you can expend one ranger spell slot (1 minute per level of spell slot) to sense whether any aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, or undead are present within 1 mile of you (or within up to 6 miles if you are in your favored terrain). This feature doesn’t reveal the creatures’ location or number.
herman, who was wrapping up an excruciatingly long and motivational story about life on the sea finds himself startled by the bell toll...
”well francis, it seems our peaceful boat ride may be heading towards excitement. sometimes its best embrace change and let the waters take you where they will...”
the old man whispers an ancient incantation to himself as dark energy completely engulfs him before dissipating dramatically.
”francis, why dont you stay here close to me.” (M11 ish)

This serpent is about 60 feet long and 10 feet thick. Its body scales are smooth, each about the size of a large shield, and the entire serpent is jet black in color, with eyes a solid, nearly black red color.

The serpent then moves its tail and slams it on the deck, wrapping around the mast in the center of the ship, attempting to break it.
Attack: 11 Damage: 16
The mast is slapped hard and begins to crack down the middle. The creature remains wrapped around the mast and if not dislodged, may fully remove it next round!
