Gillain: The figurines are about 1 ft. tall and very delicate. Smiling at some lost memory Gillain looks at each one, handling them and inspecting the fine workmanship. To her shock, she finds the figurines are images of well-dressed skeletons.
Tio: This room does bring back memories for Tio. She remembers serving master and guest as they dine and make merry but, the memory is fleeting and not a pleasant one for it reminds Tio of what she didn't have before her adventuring life, freedom, and free will. Tio inspects the room for traps and secret doors but finds none.
Bob: Bob makes his way to the wall hangings. He inspects them and starts to search for any familiarity with the images and any icons, but he can not associate them with anything in his memory. However, as he inspects them he notices, (Perception roll: 25!), that the eyes seem to follow him everywhere he goes. Bob has heard that stained glass images seem to do this but, it is still no less unnerving.
Ermren: Ermren moves to the harpsichord and starts going over it like some master mechanic. He pulls the bench around. He climbs atop the bench and opens the harpsichord lid. He moves around a bit to get a better look inside and then moves to the front where the keys lay. He presses a key and the note resonates throughout the room. He gets back up on the bench and peers into the body of the harpsichord. After some time Ermren concludes that the body of the harpsichord contains taut wires and once a key is pressed, a small wooden peg with a tooth-like notch on its side pops up and "picks" the wire, causing it to make a sound at a pitch determined by its length, and tightness. While determining how this contraption works Ermren notices the lid of the bench he is using opens. Inside he finds sheet music, some complete and some not. He also finds a scroll case. Opening it up he finds a scroll with words and markings he is can tell are of an arcane nature but, not one he is familiar with.
James: James makes his way to the windows with Gossamer curtains. The windows are closed and blacked out. Upon closer inspection, James believes the paint used on the curtains is a lead-based paint to repel light but, he is not certain. Try as he might, the windows will not open. James does not see the source of the fluttering of the Gossamer curtains but, he is sure it wasn't a wind from these windows.
Gillain’s face screws up, when she realises the figurine she holds is sculpted as a skeleton. She places it back on the mantelpiece (her memory of similar figurines from back home now tainted with that haunting image).
It’s clear to her there’s no one in this room in need of rescue or protection. Satisfied, she’s happy to just take in the rest of the decor, while her friends finish their investigations.
"The eyes are followin' me," Bob whispers through clenched teeth as Ermren approaches. He jerks his head in the direction of the stained glass. "No more dawdling about with scrolls and such, fellows! We can always look them over when we're far, far away from this place. Onward and..." He gulps and looks up toward the next floor. "...upwards."
The party files out of the conservatory. The house is very quiet. You notice this because all the sounds being made inside the residence is coming from your group. You become acutely aware of each footfall, each creak of wooden boards, and the sliding and jingling of armor and weapons as you make your way to the last door on this floor.
The door opens to a 15 ft. long x 10 ft. wide room. Along the north and south walls of this room rests a bed with a straw mattress. A footlocker rests at the foot of each bed.
In the northwest corner of this small room is a small closet. Inside you find tidy servant uniforms hanging on hooks. The uniforms, both black and white dresses, seem slightly well worn but clean.
Gillain enters the room and says “Hmm... should we see what’s in these footlockers? I’ll lend a hand as best I can if someone wants to check them for traps...”.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ermren moves to check out the closest, speaking loudly to the others, "Anyone else notice how quiet it is? You'd think if there was something here, it'd have heard us and come looking by now."
After examining the footlockers and the closet you find nothing of value or importance in this room. A little anti-climatic, each of you moves to the main hall and compares notes and options on what to do next.
Abruptly you hear a loud crash coming from upstairs.
Dmitri tightens his grip upon his longsword and with a nod to Gillain to be sure she is ready as the other obvious martial member of their troop. Dmitri comments in his thick accent "It seems someone is home after all, comrades. Let us seek them out, yes?" When the others are ready, Dmitri moves to lead the party back to main hall with the ascending stairway and up to the third floor and the sound of the disturbance.
Ermren would usher the others up the stairs ahead of him, and plant himself at the rear to make sure nothing comes up behind them, gripping his quarterstaff tightly and prepared to lay it firmly upon whoever, or whatever, is behind this nonsense.
James looks to see what’s moving the curtains

Ermren brings the scroll over to James and Bob, “Some strange arcana here, do either of you recognize it?”

Looking over the scroll you discover it is a magic scroll containing 1 spell; Bless.
Gillain enters the room and says “Hmm... should we see what’s in these footlockers? I’ll lend a hand as best I can if someone wants to check them for traps...”.

Bob moves along with Ermren as usual until he spots the closet. Timidly he peeks inside to see if there's anything more than just servant uniforms.

Gillain nods back to Dmitri, and shoulder-to-shoulder the two of them lead the party up the staircase to the third floor.
((if the stairs won’t allow both of them to climb side by side, Gillain will forge ahead with her shield raised))

Felix Windfall(Human-V Lv.7 Rogue) killed in ToA, Vallan Houndstrider (Halfling Ghostwise Lv.1 Fighter) in DiABob puts himself ahead of Ermren but behind the others. He feared the unknown upstairs more than something creeping up behind them.
“Steady folks. Don’t forget, it may be a monster, it may - in fact- be a child.” James grips his shield tight.
