Rock grins at the little one and opens up a big hand to accept the pretend offering. "Rock like this thing..." He says with a grin at the little creature.
The creature's hand glows with soothing golden light, placing his entire hand in Rock's palm. Rock, you feel warm for a second. Not uncomfortable, but actually pretty nice given the climate. The creature withdraws his hand. He raises his arms up over his head and holds them out like claws. He emits a loud roar, then giggles again as the fox sprints away, carrying him off into the distance.
Rock now has a Charm of Animal Conjuring, which gives him the ability to cast Conjure Animals three times at 3rd level.
"Rock do like this thing..." Rock says as his hand glows. He doesn't notice much difference in the feeling of the area, as he doesn't really notice the cold to begin with. He gives the little creature a bow of respect as it rides off on the fox though. Once it is gone he glances to the others. "Let us do this thing we are doing then..." He nods to the tracks, leading the way onward towards this giant they are following.
You continue down the path for a few more hours, before coming upon a trail that culminates at a rocky hillside with pines growing around its base. Set into the hill are three caves.
The frozen creek emerges from the west cave, which has a low-hanging mouth.
The center cave - an eight-foot-high passage hewn from the rock - is moderately blocked by a tight stand of conifers and two massive fallen logs.
The northeast cave has a big, yawning mouth, and flickers of light emanate from within. The tracks of your quarry head through this entrance.
Shayne's voice was soft, just trying out the words more to remember the events than to actually create the poem. Events were just easier to remember in such a way, the polish and crafting of the narrative would happen later... When there was far less chance of being eaten by a grue.
Finn will move to the side of the entrance as he approaches so as not to highlight himself in the firelight coming from the cave. He will make sure that Rock enters first and will keep himself hidden from sight. Stealth- 18. Mumbling to himself- "Gotta love the big guys boldness."
Going right in! I love it. You walk through the northeastern entrance, through the wide tunnel and into the heart of the cave.
A bonfire in the middle of this cave keeps it lit and relatively warm. The scent of roasting meat fills the air as a hunk of meat on a spit drips juices into the fire. Goats and sheep are held in a spacious animal pen enclosed by a crude wooden fence. Other features of the cave include a wooden cart with a broken wheel, two old crates, and two barrels.
A few seconds pass, followed by the rumbling of footsteps from the hall to the west from where you entered. A humanoid shape enters, like an oversized human with long, gangly arms and an elongated face. He's carrying a spear and shield, and upon spotting you all, immediately readies them. "Intruders!", he calls out.
“‘Intruders’? Did you just call us ‘intruders’?” Shayne asks in exaggerated shock. “My good sir, I am offended! Offended, I say! Me and my friends here were on a nice, leisurely walk. We idled by this magnificent dwelling and smelled a delicious aroma emanating from it! Of course we investigated! It would have been criminal not to!”
Shayne’s hand gestures are as overly dramatic as his words as he continues. “The smell was all the invitation we needed, my friend. The wafting scent of your magnificent cooking is sure an allure no hungry traveler could resist. Surely, my friend, after such an invitation you are not going to spoil it now by being a rude and hostile host? Surely you are much to charming for that!”
Somewhere amidst the words and gestures Shayne cast Charm Person upon the denizen dwelling in this abode... ((Wisdom save vs DC 14. If it fails the saving throw, it is charmed by you until the spell ends or until you or your companions do anything harmful to it. The charmed creature regards you as a friendly acquaintance. When the spell ends, the creature knows it was charmed by you.))

first slight of hand roll being finicky. Can use this one if it doesn’t show up...
Nobody notices Shayne scoop up the ring.
Finn just shakes his head- "Just when you think it can't get any weirder..."

"So..." Shayne says. "That happened."
"Is that normal? For, like, you? Small creatures just giving you gifts and such?"
"I've 'eard of ravens offering gifts to those who are deemed ze Alpha," Avarice smiles as she doodles in her journal.

Rock moves straight for the wide open cave.
"Boldly did our hero stride,
Head held high and muscles taut,
Into the cavern mouth so wide,
Concerns for safety he had naught..."

Rock gives Shayne a grin, flexing powerful muscles as he poses before the cave mouth. "Let us do this thing..." he says as he then strides towards it.

"Hello!" Rock calls. "Anyone here?" He glances around, trying to find whomever lives here. Is there a second chamber, or a door that leads elsewhere?

((The spell would fail - a verbeeg is technically a giant, rather than a humanoid.))
