((So it fails. *shrug*. He looked like a humanoid so Shayne would cast it. If it hadn't looked humanoid he probably would have just tried n normal persuasion but it is what is it.))
"Steal? Balderdash! We are no thieves," Shayne responds, acting offended. "There is not such a scoundrel amongst us who would steal food from the likes of you!"
"I shall admit, we were drawn by the smell. That much is true. But we only sought it out with a mind of sharing our own rations in order to turn whatever we smelled into a feast instead of just a meal..." Shayne continued. "But... If you are not of a sharing mind we shall keep our scrumptious delicacies for ourselves and leave you to your meager meal. Our apologies for interrupting you, we shall be on our way."
"Why we want take your food?" Rock asks the giant-kin. He nods to his companions. "We are no starving." He frowns at the giant though. "Did you kill those men we found in the forest? We followed your tracks back here... Also, did you ahve anything to do with the theft of things from the town nearby?"
"How about we NOT annoy the giant?" Shayne asked Rock in a whisper. "At least until maybe we know if it's along or with friends?"
"What my brusque companion means if that we would love to sit down with you and your friends, share a meal and swap stories... If you all like food and stories?" Shayne asks loudly, trying to cut off the giant's train of thought before it could get angry.
Finn is keeping to the back of the group and letting Shayne and Rock handle "diplomacy" with the verbeeg. "I don't think verbeeg are typically the most friendly?" Finn states more as a question than a statement.
"Our friend here, and his friends, are of course friendly! Why they've all but invited us for a meal..." Shayne insists, acting as if it's a done deal.
