((Given that they are “normal” wolves Elderan would leave them be unless they move closer to us. If they approach threateningly I will shoot. Are they normal wolves?))
Shayne would keep an eye on the "normal" wolves while they were in view. Most often such creatures don't attack bands of people but there is always exceptions... And who knows if the larger ones have influence over them, so Shayne will take nothing fo granted.
Avarice shoulders her stave and pulls out a small notebook as she quickly doodles one of the wolves in profile and roughly the dialogue that was had as they walk, keeping an eye on her footing.
"Is it a common thing for wolves here to talk or a curse I wonder?" she ponders.

They appear to be normal wolves. Everybody make a Nature check.
You've been following the path west toward the giant's lodge, and on a stretch of path that twists northward along a small river, about 10-15 feet across in spots. Roughly 30 feet in front of Rock, a wolf hears him shout out. He growls, bares his teeth, and assumes a defensive posture. A second wolf nearby hears the growl and moves up quietly toward the first one. Three more wolves, scattered on the other side of the river and still some distance away, have not yet been alerted to your presence.
Avarice and Ines - you notice that the wolves seem gaunt, unhealthy, like maybe they haven't eaten in a long time. Caused, no doubt, by the endless winter that seems to have taken over these parts.
"Most likely thinking we be food." Rock says with a nod of his head. He draws forth his greatsword. "Best be ready in case." He says with a glance to the others. He continues walking though, heading onward, but watchful of both white and normal wolves.
The weary wolves watch warily as you wander by, but have apparently decided that a group of well-armed travelers is not worth the risk. Off in the distance, on the other side of the river, you hear snarling and growling and gnashing of teeth as the other three wolves chase down an unfortunate rodent.
You continue down the path set forth by the large winter wolves. About an hour after you safely pass by the regular wolves, you see, jutting up out of the vast tundra, a towering edifice built entirely of ice. The domed structure is easily three times the height and width of any building found in Ten-Towns.
The three openings you see are on the eastern side of the building. As you approach, you see your "friends" Koran and Kanan waiting for you just outside. Koran sniffs the air around him. "Lucky. Garagai isn't home. Left his mammoth Norsu behind, must be out getting food."
"Now go, get your kids and run. We'll watch for the giant," Kanan adds.

"You wolves talk?" Rock calls to the normal-looking wolves. He would not be too concerned about them, and not afraid of getting their attention.
Ines watches Rock with wide eyes and waits to see what happens.

“Commoners curse the most,” Shayne offers, “but the biggest curse is how uncommonly the talk is worth listening too...”
Yeah, Shayne didn’t really understand what he was on about either.

"Rock no antagonize anyone." Rock says with an offended tone to his voice.
"Rock just asked if they talk like white ones..."

"Oh, poor things. They look hungry. I bet if they were given a nice meal, they wouldn't bother us," Ines tells the others

“Or would come at us for more food once they knew we had some,” Shayne answered, hand upon the his of his sword.

"I couldn't agree more Rock. Let's keep moving. Not that I am looking forward to talking with a frost giant. They are notoriously nasty beings."
