Syvis explodes from the water, stabbing her shortsword deep into the chest of the injured Kuo Toa. The strike causes a spray of blood as the Kuo Toa falls backwards before Syvus dives back under the water (Dead).

Guided by divine power, Voyage’s eldritch blast strikes true, blasting the final Kuo Toa engaged with Syvis (-6hp).

Thodek joins Derendil engaging the final Kuo Toa on the boat, striking with his warhammer that makes contact with a sickening thud (-5hp)

Nicholas shoots another crossbow bolt that guided by the divine power of bless strikes the Kuo Toa engaged by Thodek and Derendil (Only one within crossbow range), and it sinks into the fish creature’s shoulder (-4hp [Total: -9hp])

Cailean casts produce flame at the final Kuo Toa on the boat (Attack: 17 Damage: 4) The flame strikes the Kuo Toa in the chest causing the smell of burnt flesh (-6hp [Total: -15hp]).

Kuo Toa are up!

The Kuo Toa on the boat turns to Thodek, stabbing towards him with its spear. (Attack: 22 Damage: 6) While the final Kuo Toa in the water continues to thrash about trying to hit Syvis (disadvantage). (Attack: 10 Damage: 3)

Thodek deflects the strike with his shield while Syvis is yet again hit by the Kuo Toa’s wild flailing spear (-4hp).

The NPCs are up!

Derendil attacks the Kuo Toa on the boat with a primal ferocity, putting all his strength into the strikes.

Jimjar uses his bonus action to dash to clamber up onto the boat before shooting a crossbow bolt at the Kuo Toa in the water. (Attack: 6 Damage: 7)

Rian also climbs upon the boat making his way to engage the final Kuo Toa, taking a slash with his longsword. (Attack: 11 Damage: 9)

Both Rian and Derendil miss while Jimjar’s bolt strike true (-6hp [Total: -12hp]).

The party is now up! Syvis, Nicholas, Thodek, and Voyage may all now take their actions. There are two Kuo Toa left— both injured (Boat: -15hp) (Water: -12hp).

Syvis pulls herself halfway up on the boat with one arm and aims another bolt at the kuo-toa behind her in the water before collapsing back under the surface.

Seeing the others surround the kuo-toa in the boat, Nicholas moves up and takes aim at the one in the water.

If the Kuo-Tua targeting Syvis is still standing, Voyage will target it with an Eldritch Blast.

If they are all down, then she will start moving to the boat to evaluate its condition and if it would be usable to move the rest of the party and our supplies

If any are still standing, Thodek will move to the nearest and strike again with his hammer.

Syvis jumpy out of the water and with a cry of anger, fires a crossbow bolt that strikes true, hitting the Kuo Toa straight through the forehead causing it to gurgle blood, and fall backward dead. 

Voyage murmurs a final incantation and sends a shimmering green-blue bolt of energy that strikes the final Kuo Toa in the chest causing it to fall backwards violently as it begins to bleed from the back of the head; Dead. 

With that, combat has ended. For the most part, the party seems unharmed except for Syvis who bleeds profusely from a stab wound and Derendil who seems to be nursing a wound as well. 

What would you like to do?

Syvis is unaware that everyone's dead and is attempting to swim back to the other side of the boat to help the rest of the group. It isn't going too well as she continues to bleed under the water.

As the battle ends, Nicholas looks around trying to make sure that they all have made it. Not seeing Syvis among the group he calls out, "Syvis! Syvis! Where are you?"

Thodek steps over to Derendil and lays a glowing hand upon him to heal his wounds as well.

Seeing combat over, Voyage actually smiles for the first time since ending up in the Underdark. "We....won?" She looks at the others and  gives them a reassuring nod. She will then move towards the boat to examine it and see what condition it is in and if the party would be able to use it without dunking everyone in the Darklake.

(oh, man! I'm a sailor, dammit!)

Struggling to make it as far as she intended, Syvis breaks the surface, panting, holding her bleeding side with one hand while swinging her crossbow around with the other, looking for a target. When she realizes what's happened, she slumps over the side of the boat, dropping her crossbow onto the deck and takes a minute to catch her breath and compose herself.

Voyage: The boat is quite simple. It seems to be made of some sort of sturdy fungus and is about 30 feet long and 10 feet wide. There are 6 paddles strewn across the deck which you assume to be what the Kuo Toa use to navigate their way through the soft currents of the Darklake. 

Thodek: Why don’t you re-roll that cure wounds. It should be 1d8+3

Cailean rushes towards Syvis as fast as he can. Once he reaches you, he lays a soft hand on the wound, casting healing word. (4) “Better?” He asks softly.

Shuushar walks up to the boat carrying Stool and closely followed by Topsy and Turvy. He looks around at the blood and gore of the battle, muttering a small prayer under his breath before calling out to Voyage “Is  it serviceable?” 

Rian also whispers a small prayer as he clutches his holy symbol before silently making his way through the group, checking to make sure everyone is all right.

Derendil gives a nod of thanks to Thodek as the wound begins to heal over thanks to the divine healing magic. “Thank you, friend,” he says.

What would you like to do?

Voyage yells back to Shushaar. "Aye, if we take turns manning the oars, I can probably sail her. Are we able to reach your village via water? If so, I think we all could stand to give our legs a break and sail the rest of the way there." The tiefling cannot hide her excitement at having a boat and sailing -- even if it is just for a few hours on a lake.

"Significantly better, yes, thank you," Syvis replies to Cailean. "Although I must admit I made some miscalculations and am worse off for it." She pulls herself the rest of the way onto the boat with a wince. Still clutching her side she retrieves her crossbow and sits at the edge of the boat to catch her breath.

"Were those kuo-toa from your village Shuushar? Because if your village has more of the same I don't know if it is a good idea for us to go there," Nicholas comments as he starts to search the bodies of their fallen foes for anything useful.

Thodek reaches for Syvis, but hesitates, "I've a little magic left that I can heal you with, but I don't know if we'll need it later today yet. Will you be alright as you are?" 

Turning to the others, "Nicholas has a point, they wanted to bring us back as slaves, We held our own here, but I have no illusions we could face down an entire city."

“No,” Shuushar calls out. “I did not recognize these Kuo Toa— they wear different garb from that of my people. With that, I believe we should continue to push cautiously to Sloobludop as we are only an hour or two away from the town.” After that the old hermit begins to quiet, speaking softly. “I am sorry I could not convince them to let us by... It seems violence has prevailed yet again.”

Nicholas: Examining the few bloody and floating bodies of the Kuo Toa, there seems to be nothing of extreme value as they all seem to carry small shields and spears. On top of that each wielded a net. 

Voyage seems reluctant to surrender the vessel. "An hour or two by foot?  Does this place have a waterfront or dock we can sail to? I feel as though we could all use a break from walking." Its evident that the tiefling really wants to sail the ship into Sloobludop.

"Indeed," Syvis chimes in. "I wouldn't mind resting for a bit on the last leg of the journey if it's possible."
