Thav, for stress I believe the options are as follows:
Primary facility (1 per week):
Cloister; 8gp, 2d10+5 stress healed
Primary Facilities- Bar and Gambling Hall
Bar- Heals 2d8+5 stress. Cost: 10 gp Complication Probability: 5%
Gambling Hall- Heals 2d10+5 stress. Make three checks: Wisdom (Insight), Charisma (Deception) and Charisma (Intimidation). If you are proficient with the appropriate gaming set, you can replace one of the three checks with the tool proficiency check. You can accept a complication to gain a success for one of the rolls. DC 19 for success. Consult the gambling wagers for your results. Cost: Make a bet ranging from 10- 40 gp
GAMBLING TABLE
Check / Result
No Success – Lose all the money you bet and accrue a debt equal to that amount.
One Success – Lose half the money you bet.
Two Success – Gain the amount you bet plus half again more.
Three Success – Gain double the amount you bet.
Four or more Success – Gain triple the amount you bet.
Carouse: By paying an additional cost after using the bar or gambling tables, you can choose to carouse with either the lower, middle, or upper class people. Make a DC 14 Persuasion Check, and on success, gain a contact with a person or within a faction. Cost: 10 gp for lower, 20 gp for middle, and 30 gp for upper class contacts
Also, fair enough about the library job- come to think of it, Peri would probably rather do a job where it's not as dark all the time, what with his fears of the dark. I just really wanna get to level 5- I have a very fun idea! ;)
I really want to use my found steed to carry cooking and medical supplies so I can lean more into the redemption paladin side, and be more of a support class than a fighter.
ooc: Thanks, Murfle. Spider, do you want to write something up or can I just type something up, pay the 8 gold (already paid) and make the roll myself, handling NPC interactions (as long as I keep them simple and minor)?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thavriol thanks the bartender, tosses down a couple of silvers, then heads to the Temple of Tyr, cursing his own stupidity at not thinking of that. A few minutes walking sees him at the Temple gates. As he walks beneath the Scales of Tyr and enters the outer compound, a white-robbed dwarven acolyte approaches, notes the gleaming, though well-used plate with its own Scales of Tyr emblazoned on the chest and bows in respect.
"Greetings, Paladin of Tyr. I am Regnar. How may I assist you?" The acolyte's voice has all the gruffness of the dwarven speech.
"The day's blessin' on you, Regnar. Can you direct me to the Priest-Rector of the Temple?" Thavriol asks politely. He's dismayed, however, to see in the acolyte's eyes a clear understanding of both Thavriol's need and purpose. He was clearly more affected by his recent missions than he'd known.
Whatever Regnar does or does not understand, he merely says, "You can find her in the Temple. Her office is just past the vestibule and she is usually there at this time of day." Thavriol starts at hearing the Priest-Rector referred to as a her but just thanks Regnar and continues on his way.
Her? he muses silently. I wonder what happened to Ronald. Perhaps I should be spending more time here if I don't even know Ronald's moved on.
A few minutes walk and Thavriol stood the door of the Rector's office. Taking a deep breath, he knocked. "Come!" The word was more order than permission and he hastened to comply. Opening the door, the half-elf entered and bowed to dark-haired human sitting behind the small paper-covered desk in the slightly less-small room. She looked up at him and smiled a warm greeting.
"Ah, Thavriol Cooperson. I am glad to meet you." She stood and gestured him to sit in one of the small chairs and close the door. A bit of maneuvering saw the deed accomplished and as she sat she answered the obvious question with a smile. "There are not many half-elven paladins to Tyr in this city. I know you likely expected to see Ronald but he left Trishdale a couple of weeks ago. It got to be too much for him, I'm afraid. My name is Lahrohna. How may the Temple of Tyr serve you?"
Now that the moment had come, Thavriol felt strangely reluctant to explain his purpose in coming but, looking into the open and smiling face of the new Priest-Rector, he took courage. At first haltingly, then with greater, well not confidence but less reluctance he told her about their two missions to the tunnels and the neogi there and their recent battle against the slime-things. Lahrohna listened with patient attentiveness and when his tale was done said only, "I see." Then, rescuing a clean scrap of paper from somewhere on her desk, she wrote on it for a couple of minutes.
When she finished she handed it to him. "This is a list of chores and work we need done around the cloister. You may choose any of them and work on them as you need. Speak to those you meet as you wish, or not. I ask only that you wear neither weapon nor armor during your work time. Do you have any questions, Thavriol?" Clearly, she or at least the Temple was used to these requests for time and help with the stress of fighting the dark monsters outside Trishdale.
"No, Priestess. No questions. I would like to begin immediately, if I may. I know where to leave my armor andweapons." She nodded and they both stood. They did not shake hands but merely nodded to each other. Thavriol then reversed the maneuver which got him into the chair and soon he was out of the small office. Heading to the armory, he left his things with the old gnome who'd been running armory for as long as Thavriol had been coming.
He stayed at the Temple for a week, working his way through the list of chores. He brushed paths, tended the herb and vegetable gardens. He assisted in the Temple laundry and at services. He spent many, many hours assisting the healers in the hospital, tending the sick, the injured, the stressed and the afflicted. And he prayed to Tyr often. At first, he talked little and no one seemed to mind. But, as the week passed and his stress began slowly to ebb he began to speak of the terrors he'd faced, the people he'd helped...and those he'd failed. He found only acceptance and understanding but never condemnation.
As the sun set on his last day, he returned to the armory, greeted the gnome and reclaimed his things. Donning armor and weapons, he bade the gnome a good day and took his leave of gnome and Temple, his heart lighter than it had been in many weeks.
((That was great! Better than I would have written up! If there are other town things you want to do, or things you want input from me on that I missed, let me know. I'll need some bit of time before I have something else to run for you guys, a bit creative bandwidth limited at the moment, so may look into some one shots that fit our theme.))

Samael has seemed relatively inured to things that would shake other folks to their core. The asylum is always in need of someone to change bed pans and do laundry that isn't too shook by the moans and screams of the patients.

Alix Wolfbluff steps in to the tavern. It seems like it has been a long time since he has made an appearance. Honestly, with most of his time answering the whispers from his tome he isn’t sure he say where he was or what he was doing if asked. Alix asks the tavern keeper for a plate of dinner and mug of whatever is on tap and sits down to eat.

aight.
Samael reports for work and gets cracking.
he also listens to the patients, but not in an obvious manner; you'd be suprised that sometimes the looniest can hit the nail on the head 1 time out of 10.
((Hey all. In a week I'll be heading out of town for two weeks, so am thinking that I will hold off on starting anything new for Alycron until I'm back, as I'll be visiting family and largely online via mobile. Would rather take the bit of extra time to flesh out ideas I have and make sure we can get a good start to it rather than kicking something off and letting it slow down immediately. Next job starting the 22nd of July? The two I've run have been kind of explore and figure out what's going on, with some combat at the end, but I'm not sure how the 'solve a mystery' is being received on your end. Open to feedback, and indications of what you might want to see more of... more combat? More RP?))

ooc: Well, I enjoyed myself. The part with the loggers was bit slow but only a bit and I only see that in looking back. I didn't think so while I was in it.
Nolla is a rogue if that is what you mean. Though she just took a dip in Warlock, so now is a rogue/warlock.
