Prentiss kicks the frozen wolf over and goes to help Joshua to his feet when he sees the beard of peacock feathers and stops suddenly: "That's...an interesting look, Josh. You trying something out there?"
He lets his fellow sorcerer take a moment to drink his potion and takes stock of the area and the team. Two humanoids approaching but looking inoffensive - weapons down, arms raised. The young man starts to think they have escaped lightly when the swooping eagle carries Loren away.
"NOOOO!" he stands shocked, dropping his crystal necklace so it hangs against his chest. The words seemed intended to offer solace, but made no sense; the little halfling had been a popular and important member of the team that Prentiss had joined, and very accepting of him despite his obvious unusual traits - the scales and other signs of his curse. Now he was gone, carried off like prey.
He stands dumbfounded while Velshir welcomes the newcomers and explains their mission. "We come and we go, but the mission remains; to help those who cannot help themselves" he thinks to himself. Resolving to see this through, he chokes down his emotions and puts on a brave smile and turns to - Kallen? And one not yet named - and says "Welcome, I am Prentiss"

Joshua takes Prentiss' hand and gets to his feet feeling the potion do its thing. After a few moments his wounds are all but gone and physically he's almost back to 100%.
Going to join Velshir and tugging on the feathers "I'm Joshua Silverlight. You say you were sent to help us?"
"Yup! We were sent to help you guys by this old lady and who I think might have been her daughters?" The young half-elf thinks for a moment before snapping her fingers. "She also gave us these!" She said, pulling out the feather token given to her by Coralie. "Anyways! Introductions are necessary, so I am Brencharis!" She quickly bows, then stands back up straight, placing her hands on her hips. "I'm sorry we weren't able to stop your friend from getting grabbed and taken away, but from what it sounds like there's something far more pressing at hand, and that is ADVENTURE! This sounds like something out of a storybook honestly, a dark and mysterious figure, only known by their ominous moniker. A friend and ally who's been stolen away from you possibly never to be seen again, and most important of all, a veritable trove of treasure that's been lost to the ages." As she speaks, she gestures and moves her hands through the air, clearly excited about the journey that she is about to embark on, and then put them back by her sides. "Anyways. How far away are these owlbears?"
Joshua turns to look at Brencharis "We're still a few hours from where we were told they would be." looking at his 3 remaining companions "Are you three ok? Those things took a few good bites outta me."
Prentiss pats himself down at Joshua's question, surprised to find himself intact: "Yes, I thought I felt one get me but...oh, Cal must have... thank you sir!"
At Bencharis's animated display of enthusiasm, the young haunted sorcerer winces slightly. She clearly means well and he's not one to crush hope, but..."It might be worth reining in that pep a little, friend. I've no doubt we could do with some happy companionship, but we have seen some horrors and there are surely more to come. Have you had a chance to use those weapons before?"
"My bow has seen some action, yes! Although I can't exactly say the same about my rapier..." She said with a wince. "I know how to use it, but I've never actually fought anyone seriously with it, I've only ever practiced fighting with it. I prefer fighting with my bow however, so that's not all that important." She gestures to the feather token Coralie had given to each of them. "Any of you guys know if these do anything magical, or are they just pretty coins?"
"Well let get going then, we're gonna hunt an owlbear right? I'm sure your little friend would be alright" Kallen replied to Prentiss. waiting for the rest to catch a breath from their previous fight.
“Stick to using your bow if you are comfortable with that. I will try my best to keep our foes away from you. In return I only ask not to get an arrow in my back!”
Prentiss wags a finger towards Velshir playfully and says to Bencharis "But be careful to fire quickly. Our friend here is so skilled that he might leave nothing for you to take down!"
As they set off, Prentiss gives the unusually quiet Cal a slap on the shoulder to encourage him. He was sure the big paladin had seen combat before, was he feeling affected by it? Prentiss suddenly realised that he wasn't feeling particularly troubled; was it because they were attacked by beasts, instead of ambushing orc raiders or infiltrating a camp to kill a wizard by surprise? A voice in his head said "Oh Prent, the animals are our friends" and he gasped suddenly at the sensation. It was a voice he had not heard for sometime, and he wondered at why his subconscious would bring it up now.
Shaking his head to clear it, he joined the line and started to recite a poem in his head about summer fields.
You pick a good pace and head north along the edge of the forest, trekking until near sunset reaching the edge of the forest where the map turns you inward about another 30 minutes of travel towards where the Owlbears are mapped to be. The weather is fair, though warm but cools quickly towards late evening. (you make conversation along the way as you wish). Please decide Marching order.
Kallen will be at the back with Bencharis, heading towards the destination where the owlbears will be located. Kallen looks at the group, especially at Prentiss. "So how long have you guys been together and what are you guys gonna do when this is all over? are you gonna head back to Waterdeep?" Kallen curiously glances at the group awaiting for a responds.
"I can definitely do that! And it's a good thing he's quick, otherwise there won't be anything for him to fight now that Kallen and I are here!" The young half-elf says jokingly. "If it's alright with you all, I shall be staying in the middle of the group so I don't get snuck up on by something with far too many teeth or claws. Sorry Kallen, but I trust your melee combat skills more then I do mine!" She pulls out a deck of playing cards, and begins to shuffle them as they walk. "So what's our plan for fighting the owlbears? Does anyone know anything about their habits, whether they sleep during the night or the day, anything like that?" As she shuffles the deck, she thinks back to the lessons the older thieves in the first thieves guild she'd been in back in Neverwinter had taught her, trying to remember if they mentioned anything about them, with the familiar and repetitive motion of shuffling hopefully sparking some memory of them being mentioned.
"Well I've been with this group a few days now, maybe a week" says Prentiss, answering Kallen's question. "They actually saved me, rescued me from a group of bandits that I'd been foolish enough to try taking on my own. I resolved to help them find their missing patron and we've been tacking our way towards him since then"
The young sorcerer pauses a moment, genuinely baffled by the question as to what he will do after. He scratches at the scales under his left ear, white & blue hair shaking loosely.
"I vowed to leave the world a better place than I had found it, and I have quite a way to go before that's the case"
Prentiss will take a position somewhere near the middle so he can speak to the new arrivals.
Cal pol, positions him self in the middle of the group, making sure to introduce himself to all, he has a genuine interest in everyones back story's but keeps his own fairly quiet. You find out he is on a quest for vengeance. However you also get the feeling he realises he may never quench its thirst but it drives him on and keeps him fighting. For some reason you cant explain you find him a very likeable person, who instantly makes you feel better about yourself, not just better, but stronger as well.

Marching order : Velshir, Joshua, CalPol, Brencharis, Prentiss, Kallen(please let me know if anyone is in the wrong spot - tried to sort out preferences.)
Evening has come to your long day of travel. The sky shifting through shades of red and orange as the sun sets out of view, the day starting to cool. A strong smell like the coppery scent of blood and decay reaches your group. You gaze through the trees and see various animal scavengers pulling at a carcass stuck on a bush off to your left. But the smell is intense, it seems too strong to be from just one dead animal.
As you move closer to investigate, you see many other carcasses spread about the area on trees, bushes, and along the ground. They see to be fanned out in front of a large cave peeking from under overhanging trees and other brush. The smell definitely seems worse at you get closer. From within the cave, you hear a soft growl like that of a bear, but much higher in pitch. The ground under you starts to vibrate as something is moving quickly within the cave towards the opening.
What emerges must be an owlbear, fierce and aggressive. Upon sighting you, it gives a horrendous screech that echoes through the forest piercing the twilight. Feathers cover the thick, shaggy coat of its bearlike body, and the limpid pupils of its great round eyes stare furiously from its owlish head. The nearby scavengers scatter, abandoning their prey but not fast enough for one, now crunched in two - one half swallowed whole.
It screeches again and charges at you. Velshir is at the very edge of the West Side of the map. The Owlbear is within 30' for the edge of the map.
Prentiss kicks the frozen wolf over and goes to help Joshua to his feet when he sees the beard of peacock feathers and stops suddenly: "That's...an interesting look, Josh. You trying something out there?"

Velshir likes to go first

Joshua would be following Velshir
Velshir gives a purposefully noncommittal answer (because he has no concrete answer to the question)
“Should I survive, I will likely next go where the wind blows”
"I can definitely do that! And it's a good thing he's quick, otherwise there won't be anything for him to fight now that Kallen and I are here!" The young half-elf says jokingly. Velshir will ponder Bencharis’ question, trying to recall what he knows of owlbear activities
