Kina titters slightly and slaps Lazlo across the backside.
"I can haul this load, no worries about that." she says. "We shouldn't tarry any longer here if we don't have to. We've a lot of daylight left, we should make good use of it so I can put this wood down before any night prowlers hear the noise."
"For once the horse woman has a point." Grimbuld says. "We'd best make haste to the outpost, get that out of the way. If we don't run into any serious obstacles, we can make it to Sentinel Point by sundown if we hurry and travel light."

Lazlo skips as he's propelled upward by the slap. "Whoah- you are powerful!. Remind me to compose an epic ballad about the beauty of a strong woman." The Satyrs hooves clatter as he lands. "Onward to the utpost!" Lazlo will spend their walk working out an ode to Kina's powerful hindquarters, she'll have bardic inspiration for a good ten minutes.

Kina smirks.
"You've already got a lady in waiting to write songs for, if I recall." she says.
"Certainly keeps my spirits up for the trudge though." she adds.
Speaking of which, Grimbuld points out that there's a few ways that the group could continue on; if they go in a straight line, they'll have to push through a narrow band of forest before they come to a well traveled centaur trail. From there, it's open grassland until another thick band of trees that surrounds the old outpost will certainly slow down travel. If they want to avoid the trees, they could cut south a bit and head down some hilly terrain that passes by some old caves before again hitting the centaur trail. Less places for everything to hide, so it's a bit of a double edged knife. Finally, they could cut north and just head along the river, though that basically guarantees running into some kind of wildlife along the way.
At least, those are the obvious choices for travel.

Aelar opens his mouth to suggest a path, then forces himself to shut his mouth. Maybe I should slow down once in a while, huh, Raia?
Turning to Hyre, first, and then the others, he asks, "What do you think, guys? Which route do you think we should take?"

The captain looks apologetic.
"We've exhausted a lot of resources defending this outpost. We only hung on this long because we knew reinforcements would be coming. I don't know if there was anything else specific that you were after, but this is really all we have on hand that's not already being used or can't be carried." he says, gesturing to the blunderbuss platforms mounted to the watch towers; not quite big enough to be cannons, but too big to be used by anyone but the largest humanoids in hand, and mostly meant to be used on huge animals.

"It seems no path is objectively better than the others." Hyre states. "However, my personal thought is that safety should be our number one priority, so straight through the woods at a slower pace is my preferred route. As the northern option sounds the most dangerous, I'd rather the south on the north, as my second choice."

Aelar nods. "That sounds like a good plan to me. Anyone else?" he looks at Lazlo and Kallista.
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
“Your brains work good. I’m all in.” Lazlo says, happy to be on the move and not preferring one route over the other. “Left to me I’d probably toss a coin… if I could borrow one.”

"If you could find a 3-sided coin!" Aelar laughs, slapping his friend on the back.

"If its what everyone else wants," Kallista says.

Kina falls in line with the others.
"Someone going to take point? I wouldn't mind being in front, being the biggest target and all, but if I'm in front of everyone, I'll make it hard to hear anything coming with the load clattering about." she states.
"I'm all for a simple straight line, myself. Having to navigate around the uneven ground by those caves doesn't sound very fun when I'm under load. If I was half goat like Shaggy there, it'd be less of a problem, but I'm afraid I'm more draft than quarterhorse."

Hyre hesitates for a second, but then volunteers. "I'll take the front. Stay behind me."
Varielky
"And risk making baby bird an orphan? I can't let you do that alone, Hyre. I'll be slightly behind you."

Aelar looks at Kallista. "I was thinking our ranger would be best at that," he says with an encouraging smile.
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
"Oh um... okay," Kallista says

Grimbuld falls in line behind Kallista.
"Until Hyre's bird is strong and trained, you're the most likely to spot danger. It makes the most sense. Trust yourself for once, girl. You're capable of far more than you give yourself credit." he states as the group begins to make their way.
The first leg of the journey is uneventful. They make it to the forested lands undetected and the shade from the tree canopy is spotty; it's not a densely packed brush. Some places to hide, but it's not a fantastic place for an ambush.
