The group's travel is thankfully uneventful. Save for a few disconcerting rumbles in the dark, not a single creature has harassed the six youths. They seem to have been frightened off by the racket that the train caused. Little wonder; to them, it must have sounded like some enormous apex predator stomping through the wilds.
When they manage to get to Hon, skirting the road and sticking to just within the treeline, they stop a good half a mile (about a kilometer) so that Kallista has the opportunity to fly up to a sufficient altitude to avoid detection.
What Kallista sees when she glides well out of range of any lantern light is that there is indeed activity at Hon, but it's not hateful razing or wanton destruction. She can see a group of 6 humanoids in what look like military uniforms gathering up items from Hon, and placing them in a specific order onto a separate trailer. It makes sense; the people came without resistance, so the spoils can be loaded up methodically. The homes are left as they were, not torched, not even ransacked. Items of interest are being loaded up carefully, bound tightly, and even inventoried.
The invaders are, however, well armed with flintlocks and pikes. They seem to be halfway done and are mostly concentrating on the town hall. It's possible, however risky, that the group could sneak over the wall or through a drainage gutter and pick through one of the outlaying houses.
Kallista can see the humble little house of the family she's been staying with; it's actually pretty far from the soldiers. She could quickly dart inside and at least get a change of clothes or a handful of supplies, if they're still in there.. but if she's spotted, she'll be shot at for sure.
The soldiers too, are speaking Skellian. She can't understand what they're saying, so it's impossible to say for sure what they're intending to do with the town once they've finished looting it.

ooc: Sorry...I was busy all day but I wanted to post a response to Hyre's question.
Aelar listened to his friends debate how to proceed and where to go. He wanted to talk them out of going to Hon...he knew they should listen to the Dragon...but Hon was on the way to Guiston and everyone wanted to see Hon...and so did he.
"Hyre, I don't know why the Dragon talked to me and I don't think there's anything to worry about. It attacked the wagons to try to save us and got badly hurt for it. Hon's on the way to Guiston so let's stop there, if it's safe."
There's no one inside the farmhouse. All the other soldiers have lanterns, so it's unlikely that they would have another in some random farmhouse near the wall with night vision. The house looks untouched; the front door is still hanging open, the hearth smouldering but still warm. Inside the windows, nothing looks disturbed. It seems that the Skell are only after specific items and are going to leave the rest to scavengers and looters.
(You've been awarded 5 class points towards rogue and ranger for your caution. Remember, you can have 50 class points in multiple classes so you have lots of options when it's time to go to level 1.
Also, Lazlo has been awarded 5 class points towards bard for his attempts at levity in a stressful situation.)

(That was a passive perception check for the soldiers.)
Kallista has enough time to quickly grab some dried meat and bread, 2 coats, a simple bag, a whittling knife, and 12 silver pieces before she hears one of the soldiers suddenly stop mid-sentence. They all go quiet. She's pushed her luck as far as she can, if she stays any longer, she'll need to roll a stealth check with disadvantage to avoid being seen, that is if she wants to duck out the back door and run back to the others, rather than fly.
She COULD carry more on foot... perhaps even clothes enough for the entire party, but the guards have been alerted by something. It's impossible to tell if Kallista made enough noise to be detected.

As Leon watches the soldiers ransack Hon, a burning anger rises within him. He tries to restrain himself- it would be a foolish task to attack them. But if they managed to catch off guard...
When Kallista returns with the whittling knife, he asks if he could use it, pointing at the forest.
"We need weapons. Spears would be a good start."
(If Kallista is fine with it, Leon will attempt to create some wooden spears with the whittling knife. Would you like me to make a check for that?)

(Spears with a whittling knife? That's going to be VERY difficult. You'll need to pass a DC of 18 or more. It wouldn't be impossible, but damn, it would be hard and it would take a couple hours to find a suitable branch, wrench it off a tree, and use the knife to bear it down and THEN bring the tip to a point. And that's for ONE spear.
That said, if you pass 13, even if you don't make a spear, that will count as a success towards learning the survival skill. Unfortunately, nobody can help with the roll because there's just one knife between you all.)
"Sorry," Kallista says, "it was the best I could do without getting caught. We should probably get going sooner rather than later," she describes everything she saw.
(Is the group heading to Hon, then?)
