Tarathiel Nivaris, Half-Elf Shadow Sorcerer with the Hermit background.
Born in Silverymoon to a human mother and moon elf father, Tarathiel had a wonderful childhood in the city. Unfortunately such things rarely last and as he entered adulthood Tarathiel noticed changes occurring within himself. At first it was little things, like being able to see better in the dark than anyone else. Eventually the magic began to manifest itself in ways which he was unprepared for and untrained to handle. When one fit of magical expression resulted in tendrils of shadow energy reaching out and attacking those near to him, the young sorcerer knew it was time to move, so as not to endanger his family and the people of his hometown.
Traveling around for a time, he eventually made his way to Icewind Dale and found the perfect refuge for those who wished to begin anew. Buying a cabin in the hills outside of Ten-Towns, he got to work both to survive and to discover the nature of the magic affecting himself. As time went by he grew older, more mature and with more practice Tarathiel became able to control his magic and only use spells which he willed. He hopes one day though to fully understand the nature of his sorcerous gifts, and use that knowledge to return to those he loves safely.

Name: Bahat Race: Earth Genasi Class: Barbarian. Right now I'm thinking about Path of the Wild Soul but I'm not promising anything. Background: Outlander Backstory:
Brief eh? As many Genasi, Bahat never found a place among others. Instead of living in towns or villages, he'd prefer wandering the wilds; only going into a town when he truly has to. Preferring the cold climates, Bahat gradually wandered towards the north. The north was not a peaceful place though. Full with will beasts and other things that prey upon others. After being attacked by such beasts several times, getting badly wounded in one of them, Bahat found a temporary shelter in a town in Icewind Dale where he currently rests and recuperates.
As a young goblin, Nox grew up on--well mostly under--the streets of Luskan. Freezing and starving one winter, he was found by a kindly sailmaker who carried Nox to his small home. The man and his wife served Nox and another traveler food that they took from a locked wooden box in the kitchen and gave them a place to sleep. In the night, the goblin arose and grabbed the box, delighted to have found such a prize, sure that the box was filled with more food and, since it was locked, likely other goods. To cover his escape, he lit the home on fire and ran into the night. Once he thought he had passed out of reach of any pursuit, he opened up the box. Inside he found three crusts of bread. The sailmaker and his wife had shared all but their very last food with him, and in return he had robbed them and burned their home. The goblin flung the box down in both anger and sorrow, and then was sent reeling to the ground by a powerful blow. He looked up into the eyes of the other traveler. The traveler, a servant of Lathander, had managed to put out the fire before it had done any real damage, and then had come after the goblin. Rather than kill him, she declared that the goblin would serve her for three years, one for every crust of bread in the box. Over the next three years, Nox served as the traveler's servant, then as her acolyte and friend. Through her, he came to join the Harpers and, after swearing his own oaths to Lathander as a layman rather than a priest, he was sent on his first mission from the Harpers, to investigate the neverending winter in Icewind Dale.
D&D Experience: I've been playing since the 90's, DMing for much of that.
This is a great bunch of applications, and so quick! I'm reviewing what I have so far. I hope to send invites in less than 24 hours. Further applications at this point would be at disadvantage.
Hey all, thanks so much for applying. I carefully considered each entry. I made a spreadsheet and everything! I have sent out invitations, expanding the group to SIX because there was such a healthy response here, and they have all accepted. I'm really sorry if you didn't get in to this one, I know how it feels, I'm sure we will meet up in another campaign!

Possibly
Elra Skylash - Human Cleric | Vanzaren Tanidoni - Half Elf Wizard
Mindartis Liadon - Eladrin Barbarian | Naivara Siannodel - Half Elf Ranger
Arrila Evenwood - Half Elf Paladin | Callaphe of Setessa - Human Rogue
