Wilmot follows Gracy's gaze to the bunks, nodding while letting out a bit of a curious sound. He takes another deep breath to settle himself, placing his hand on the rogue's shoulder for a quick pat. "You're right. That does seem odd," he moves to look over the bunks. "Something is afoot."

"Ya, ya Old Willy. That was definitely a new experience for me as well. But I didn't think it was too scary right?" Archibald turns his back to the group and casts prestidigitaiton to clean up his slightly piss covered pants. "You're right Gracy. I tend to lose myself a little when gold is involved. Thank you for lending me your experience in these matters." He puts the skull back down and begins rummaging through the pots with his mage hand.

Klaus looks ruefully at his longsword: “An elegant weapon, but it lacks the pulverizing power of a simple staff, or a monk’s foot, for that matter. I shall have to borrow Rolo’s mace next time I see him.”
LAB: The table holds small stacks of gold coins totaling 47 gp. Examining the table closely reveals a concealed drawer that contains the spellbook the alchemist used when he was alive. The book’s contents include dancing lights, comprehend languages, Tenser’s floating disk, and shatter.
AREA 21: This is where you landed from the trap door. This torchlit chamber was once a large cellar, but it has since been converted into living quarters. Ten crude beds stand along the south wall, each with a wooden locker at its foot. A long wooden trestle table ringed by rickety stools dominates the center of the room. Metal cutlery, cups, and dirty plates sit atop the table. A cookstove is installed near the table, and evidence of recently cooked meals sits in pots atop it. A large ham hangs from a loop of twine near the stove. A sturdy set of stairs leads to a trapdoor in the ceiling above. There are two wooden doors in the east side of the room.
AREA 22: This appears to be a private quarter. This small room holds comfortable furnishings and appears to be well cared for. A comfortable-looking bed in the northwest corner has a wooden locker at its foot. A small wooden table stands against the east wall, with a padded leather chair beside it. On the table, a brass three-branch candlestick with three burning candles provides the room with bright light. The candles, though not fresh, are far from spent. Under the table is a small wooden box and an unlit bullseye lantern with a movable shutter over the lens. On a shelf above the table sit three books. In the northeast corner is a closed wooden wardrobe.

Gracy sees Wilmot and Archie start with the smaller unexplored room (Area 22) and moves to the larger room, checking the footlockers for anything of interest or value.
Looking to the others Gracy quickly scans their positions and barks out 'Hiramat, cover that secret door to the caverns - make sure no one gets in that way. Klaus, keep an eye on those two doors to the East, we'll need to tackle them next, but not until we've had a moment to catch our breath. Zemya, help me check these beds and chests for any clues in to what might be going on here.
The wardrobe contains typical cloth clothing. No armor.
There are three books here: a volume of erotic poetry, fully illustrated. A naval almanac listing tide times for the area of coast around Saltmarsh (a total of one hundred miles of coastline is covered) A treatise concerning the demigod Iuz and its minions. Inside the third book is a sheet of parchment featuring a few simple words and phrases in the Common tongue and their equivalents in another language. The words include “stop,” “fight,” “lift,” “come,” and so forth. There is a bullseye lantern, which appears to be used infrequently for what purpose you don't know. The small wooden box holds twelve candles, flint and steel, and a piece of parchment that details a method of land to ship communication.
Zmeya distastefully puts the book of poetry down, her expression more venomous than usual. Is this what she had left her tribe for?
"It doesn't look like there is anything else for us here, unless these enchantment scrolls mean anything to someone. It looks like these folk seem to be interested in communicating with ships - bandits, maybe? Criminals? If it weren't for the skeletons, I would say this place was only haunted by squatters." Picking up the parchment, she continues. "Does anyone read this language? It appears they might be commanding some entity. It would be good to know what it is. Either way, I think we need to take a rest."
"Hooty Hoo, looks like I've found some bed time reading material....Oh my! And with pictures! Haven't seen that position before." Archibald puts the poetry book in his bag. He then thumbs through the almanac. "Oooo....this may have helped me with my last employer." Puts it in his bag. Looking over the parchment, Archibald tries to make some sort of connection with this words and the other piece of parchment he found earlier. He turns to Wilmot to ask for his assistance in possibly making the connection. "What do you make of this big guy? You seem to be good at thinking outside of the box", he coughs as a puff of Wilmot's smoke hit's his face.
Could I make some kind of roll to decipher or figure out what these words have in common or are used for, possibly with Wilmot's help?
Wilmot chuckles as Archibald coughs. "Sorry about that...," he mutters as he extinguishes the lit herb. "It settles my nerves." He looks over the parchment and shrugs. "I was never big on words." He motions to the covered lantern. "That looks like it has been getting a little use."

It's clear that the lantern is used to signal a ship off coast, that's for sure. For what purpose is yet to be discovered. Second, someone is learning goblin to command them, it seems. Again, for what purpose, is unknown.
Archibald leans over to Zmeya and says, "Why yes, yes I do. It's a fairly simple dialect, quite easy to decipher..."Archibald continues to overexplain the goblin words and tells the group that it seems someone is learning goblin to command ships.

Hiramat covers the secret door, straining to hear if any new enemies are near. He looks over his shoulder occasionally to see if anything good has been uncovered, and not just books...
Klaus sneers, “Goblin? What villain would truck with those miscreants? In any case, they likely lay their head here, right? Safe to assume a necromancer of some sort, given their arcane proclivities and taste for the finer things? Mayhap we put everything back as best as possible and waylay them here on the hopes they don’t notice we have depleted their supply of undead servitors?”
Archibald ponders...."Good question Klaus, who would employ goblins? They are some of the vilest, unintelligent, cowardly, and disloyal creatures out there. Well at least what I've read about them. I'm really not that well traveled. Do ya maybe think that they could just be using the goblin language? You know, since only the most educated non-goblins would be able to read the language. The perfect code. I mean, who would take the time to learn such an absurd language unless they were forced to as part of their extensive, privileged tutoring?"He looks around a little nervous and ashamed. "Plus, this place is way to clean for a goblin den right?"
'This is no goblin lair that's for certain.' Gracy continues to prowl about the large room, looking for any clues as to how many foes they have yet to uncover and listening for any signs that their battle with the skeletons had alerted others to their presence in the manor.
