(Botting Dolgrim to keep things moving. Also, I don't know about Diving Smite, but you can use the Divine Smite indeed.)
Seeing that his attack against the ra-person had no effect, Dolgrim makes a low, two-handed swing with his Warhammer to bat the pesky rat biting at his heels away. Attack: 7 Damage: 11. The nimble rat dodges the attack, however. Meanwhile, Thenmer sends another surge of lightning energy through the maintained arc. The rat person screams in pain, and the smell of burned fur fills the cave. Just then, Barthrum hits the rat person with his sword. The wound starts to close even before the sword completely leaves the rat-person's body. Seeing that, Barthrum borrows from his companion's energy to scorch the wound. The wound doesn't close up from that moment on.
The rest of the Dwarves form a line around Thenmer. Though it's a little harder to see what's going on, he'll be somewhat protected by their bodies (1/2 cover). Meanwhile, Don-Jon jumps up and runs towards the rat-person. He pulls out a dagger and tries to stab it three times. The rat-person manages to dodge the first two but is hit by the third attack. He grins as his wound quickly closes, leaving no trace of it in a mere moment.
The rat-person looks gravely injured, but it is still standing. Annoyed that it can't reach Thenmer, but moreover, he understands he had made a mistake coming here, one that may have cost it his life. "I'll hold them off as long as I can! Go warn the others that a real threat has arrived!" It calls and then turns to the one whose attack left an actual wound on his body, attacking Barthrum twice with his shortsword. Without his armour on, and without properly donning the shield (it actually takes an action to do it), Barthrum doesn't have a great defence, and he fails to dodge the attacks. (Two hits, dealing 7 points of piercing damage and 6 points of piercing damage.) Meanwhile, the rat disobeys the orders given to it and tries to bite at the one who attacked it again. It jumps behind Dolgrim, ready to attack him from behind, utilizing Dolgrim's attention on the bigger threat. Seeing his friend doesn't notice the attack from behind, Thenmer uses his reaction to send a ping into Dolgrim's mind (Restore Balance feature, as you asked...) which gets Dolgrim to notice the rat behind him. It is too late, however, and the rat bites Dolgrim's leg. (Canceled the advantage, but still a hit. Dolgrim takes 4 points of piercing damage.)

Dolgrim screams in pain, as the rat bites his leg, but seeing the ratman is already wounded, he focuses his attack on him. He first smashes it with his shield to distract it and follows with a wide strike with his hammer:
Attack: 18 Damage: 5 + 6 (Is the mark still active, or have I lost concentration?)
Edit: Conc rolls (I think I owe you 2: 8, 8 and two extra if both enemies attack me this turn: 2214)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Barthrum is excited to have made an impact and tries the same thing again, grabbing his longsword in two hands: Attack: 8 Damage: 7, adding Divine Smite here as well for 7 radiant damage.
He sees the battle going well and as pulls his sword free of the ratman body he says fairly loudly, "This mine is off limits for your kind!" hoping to inspire everyone around him (and hoping it works as Channel Divinity: Inspiring Smite, distributing 15 temporary hit points evenly between himself and Dolgrim and Thenmer)
Dolgrim manages to hold the concentration on his spell and swings his hammer again. The hammer connects, though most of the tissues immediately heal. Some of them don't fully heal, though. Then, Barthrum follows with his own attack, and he pierced through the rat-person's heart. It smiles, thinking it can't be killed by normal weapons, and its wound begins to close. Seeing that, Barthrum sends divine energy through the sword, which stops the regeneration. The rat-person has only a moment to realise what happened before its body falls backwards to the floor. The rat-person's hairs begin to shorten and disappear, as his face changes its shape. It doesn't take more than two seconds before it is no longer a rat-person. Rather, lying lifeless in front of you, is a body indistinguishable from a regular human male, with burnt hair and a large wound made by a sword that pierced his heart.
Following that, Barthrum quickly attempts to raise morale among his companions. His words, he feels, are answered with divine energy, as both he, Dolgrim and Thenmer all receive some divine protection. (Now that he had proved he is not only talking of his glory, but he works to earn it too, Barthrum can use his Inspiring Smite feature whenever applicable.)
It is now Thenmer's turn. The other rat is still alive, and it still looks hostile.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thenmer glares at the rat, he backs off as he grasps his crystal.
"Damned thing, coming in here seeking to kill for no reason except your vicious greed"
He feels the fire in his heart and he lets that feeling flow into the crystal. The crystal glows for a brief moment and by strength of will he hurls fire towards the rat, trying to punish it for its deadly greed
( Casting Fire Bolt. to hit 20 for damage 10. As before he has his reaction for Shield spell if he is attacked or to nullify advantage against one of his friends if somehow they get into a position where they are attacked with advantage )
(Edit, oh a critical. So that's another damage dice of 10 )
The rat is instantly incinerated by Thenmer's spell. There's a moment of calm, during which all is quiet. The dwarves lower their guard and move away from Thenmer. "Is it over?" Don-Jon asks.
(Out of initiative. Do or say something if you want to. Otherwise, you can resume your rest/watch.)
Thenmer sees the dwarves move away from him and is suddenly saddened.
"Lads, I'm still a dwarf. I worked in mines like this all my life, you've no reason to fear me. Only things that have to fear me are ones that try to kill us."
He looks round at his two companions and then at Don-Jon
"I guess its over for now, but for how long I can't guess. We know there are more of them around."
Everything seems quiet, as least from the other side of the door. Meanwhile, on this side, the dwarves look at Thenmer with a bit of confusion as they return to their bedrolls. "I think I speak for all of us," one says, "but personally, I don't fear you. You awe me, perhaps, but if you were to kill me, you'd do it already." It might occur to you that they moved away from you to give you, and each other, some space. They stood really close to you and each other, almost touching.
Dolgrim looks at the others. I think we should leave. We were lucky this time, but the fight proved to be too difficult and there were only two of these rats. If they decide to attack from both sides, we will be trapped here. I say we head back to Phandalin, maybe we might find some information how to fight them more effectively there.
"I got lucky there and still I feel quite drained from the effort. If we are attacked on all sides we could be overwhelmed very quickly. I'd rather take my chances on the road"
He starts donning his armor and says to the locals, "We leave in 5 minutes. Barricade the door they came from and gather whatever you need. We travel light and fast. We want to be as far from here as possible before the rats discover what happened."
Barthrum will start donning his heavy armor, but only attaches the straps and clasps that are needed for it to fall off (it takes 10 minutes to get it fully properly equipped). He will do the rest as soon as they are out of the cave and on the march.
He turns to Don-Jon, "We travel without additional light. You'll need to grab hold of a rope and maybe keep a hand on a shoulder. It'll be a couple of hours before the first light will alleviate the situation."
The dwarves grunt, but after hearing Thenmer saying what he does, they believe you and start packing their bedrolls. It seems that their bedrolls are pretty much all they have, aside from their clothes and a few pickaxes and shovels. One of them leads Don-Jon as they begin to follow you out of the caves, through the way you came.
It doesn't take long before you're outside. It is still night, and everything is mostly quiet. It is very cold, especially because strong winds are blowing.
"You could just stay off the path for a while," one of them answers, "though it is only distance that you put between you and it. You could also go to the east, but that would make this walk almost two days longer, or more."
"I don't think we have supplies for a much longer way round, lets stay clear of the main entrance so we don't provoke trouble but we can't be walking for so long that hunger weakens us"
He looks at his companions
"Unless one of you has a lot of rations on you, enough to feed all of us for two more days?"
((I haven't been paying much attention to my supplies tbh.))
I wouldn't worry about the supplies too much, it isn't too hard to survive in these lands even without them, and few extra days won't change much. Maybe we will even encounter some merchants on the main road.
Barthrum says, "We won't know what else we'll encounter out here, these are strange times and it's pretty darn cold." He nods to his earlier companions, hoping they recall the frozen orcs.
"Lets stay far away from the entrance, but after that take the shortest path."
"There are orcs out there for some reason and there's something killing the orcs which I don't want to meet. And there is a dragon, which I really don't want to ever see again. So wandering round out there for a long time does not appeal. Let's just not get too close to the main entrance, no need to provoke more trouble."
He looks around at the others
"Are we ready to go?"
