Thenmer leads the way to the Harbin Wester's home (location is marked on the map on post #1).
When you get there and knock on the door, you hear his voice, shouting from somewhere in the house. “If you’re a dragon, know that I’m far too thin and bony to make a good meal!”
"You don't sound like a dragon." He replies. You start hearing heavy steps that get closer and closer until they sound so close he's probably just across the door. "Who are you and what is your business? As for coming in, that won't be necessary."
"No, if we were to be dragons we would not look short and like dwarfs. We took up your offer of work and went to see the healer to warn her of the danger. We would like payment for that work yesterday before we consider whether to take up further such work today with one of the groups you say need to be warned"
"Dwarves, you say? Well, it's true ye sound like ones. You said you went to free Adabra, where is she? I've had several people who claimed to have completed a quest without even leaving Phandalin. Once I know she's truly safe, I'll pay you."
"We found the lady being attacked by a monster, I believe it was a manticore. I was able to persuade the monster to leave her in peace. But then I was quite unable to persuade the lady to leave her tower, she is convinced that she will be safer there and wrote this letter to confirm as much. I know what your notice said but we were not willing to earn her enmity by dragging her here against her will."
As you slip the note halfways beneith the closed door, it gets pulled to the other side. There's long silence as he reads the note, so long that for a moment you might think he just went away and left you standing in front of the door like fools. "That stubborn woman!" The voice finally exclaims through the door. "Her blood be in her own head then! Hold on, I'll get you your payment."
You hear his heavy staps walk away. When he returns, you can hear the sound of coins hitting against wood with every step. "One, two, three..." he starts slipping the coins one by one beneith the door. It takes some time to get them all out. "...twenty-four, twenty-five. That's it, twenty-five. If you want more, do one of the other quests. Oh, can you take the notice down on your way? I don't want other travellers to bother Addy every day." And with that you can hear his steps walking away from the door.
Dolgrim rolls his eyes, and adresses his fellow dwarves
D: These people are just crazy. The one that should be careful is stupidly not and the one that should inspire hope is just a coward, when there is no reason for it. It must be that stuff they drink, I am telling you!
When Barathrum reaches the notice board, it has the same three notices as the other day.
“Dwarf prospectors found ancient dwarven ruins in the mountains southwest of here, and have been working an archaeological dig seeking treasure and relics. They need to be warned that a white dragon has moved into the area. Take the warning to them, then return to Townmaster Harbin Wester to collect a reward of 50 gp.”
“A clan of reclusive rock gnomes resides in a small network of caves in the mountains to the southeast. The gnomes of Gnomengarde are known for their magical inventions, and they might have something with which to defeat the dragon. Get whatever you can from them. If you bring back something useful and don’t want to keep it for yourselves, Townmaster Harbin Wester will pay you 50 gp for it.”
“The local midwife — an acolyte of Chauntea named Adabra Gwynn — lives by herself in a stone windmill on the side of a hill a few miles south of Phandalin. With dragon sightings becoming more common, it’s not safe for her to be alone. Urge Adabra to return to Phandalin. Once she’s safe, visit Townmaster Harbin Wester to claim a reward of 25 gp.”
"This behavior is not rational, it does not follow any sensible logic or rules. Yet this is how they are; and they call me strange for seeing past their illogic."
He follows Barthrum back to the notice board and carefully removes the sign about Adabra.
"That is done. Shall we see to warning the dwarfs next?"
Barthrum nods, "Warning them is good. The directions are very vague though. Should we take this one with us as well and go ask the Mayor for better directions?"
(I'm following PHB prices so Rations (1 day) has all the details you need.)
Dolgrim goes to Barthen's Provisions. When he enters the store, he sees various types of adventuring gears stacked upon shelves. On one of the shelves, he also sees the butter skulls his ex-rival is selling. Behind the counter are two young lads, one with short black hair and the other with peculiarly long brown hair. The first is quite a tall human, almost 3 heads taller than Dolgrim while the second seems to be an average human, but is also, unsurprisingly, taller than Dolgrim. "Good day, sir." Greets you the first. "How can we help you?" Asks the other.
When Barathrum knocks on the mayor's door, he hears the same reply as earlier: “If you’re a dragon, know that I’m far too thin and bony to make a good meal!”
D:Barthen's not here?... well I suppose you two should be enough. I need some food for five days. You know nuts, dried meat and fruit, some crackers, pack it into five packages, one for each day. And make it quick!
Meanwhile, he prepares 25 silver coins and puts them on the table
The boys turn to eachother and play a little game Dolgrim doesn't recognise. It takes about two seconds, after which the tall boy sighs. "You won." He says and goes away to pack your order. "Want to hear a rumour I've heard while he's at it? It's probably just a tale, but maybe an adventurer like you-" he points at your armour and weapons "can find a time to check. What do you say?" Overall, he just seems excited to speak to you.
"You again? Already? Ah sure, just a moment." You hear his heavy steps going around, then he comes to the door. You hear a sound of paper and the sound of a feather writing on it. Eventually, he slips a map of the area with a marking on it under the door. "There you go," he says, "now go before there's no one left to warn!" You then hear his heavy steps walking away.
(OOC: I will add the map when I have the time for it. Currently I'm using my phone so I can't edit it yet. Hopefully I can post it tomorrow, but I might also not be able to do so for a few days. Meanwhile, just assume the characters know where they're going.)

Barthrum says, "Great success fellows! We have solved one of the tasks set out by the Mayor. We should hurry and see the other tasks!"
And he starts powerwalking back to the notice board.

D: Yes go ask the mayor, I'll buy me some rations in the meantime, I'll meet you here at the board.
Dolgrim visits Barthen and buys rations for 5 days.
((5sp per day of rations, right? I suppose they aren't too heavy/bulky to carry...))

Barthrum calls out, "It is us once again Master Mayor. We are off to warn the dwarves at the archeological dig. We could use some more directions."

D: Go on lad...
Thenmer looks on at this performance with something approaching amusement.
"Truly remarkable lack of leadership. I wonder if he has calculated whether his flimsy roof shingles would withstand a dragon in any case."
He picks up the map and looks at it.
"Well it looks like enough of a map for us to follow. What do we reckon, are we ready to go, get a good distance from the day ahead?"
Barthrum says, "Definitely ready to go once we meet up again with Master Dolgrim!"
