As the sun rises well over the horizon in Sel'eman, former Arena Shapers and Constructs work in tandem to freeze, move, and just generally get one of the coldest fighting grounds up and operational for the next match.
To win: 1... King of the Hill - A flag (¥) in the center of the arena will be available to capture in the third round. Hold the area within 10 feet while keeping your opponents at bay to win the match..
The conditions: 2... Day(wet) - As the day continues the weather doesn't let up. It's difficult to tell the time of day through the overcast sky. In the poor lighting checks relying on sight will suffer disadvantage without Darkvision.
The Map: 6.... Frozen Tundra - The ground has long lush grass growing in thick muddy soil, and the center of the field is dominated by an enormous glacier. The area is dotted with a few flimsy trees adorned with icicles rather than leaves. The walls of the glacier are a mixture of ice and soil and snow. On its surface are erratic, jagged walls of wind-blown ice spikes, and in its center is an island in a lake of smooth ice.
(Moving on the ice is difficult, and attempts to knock down or push characters on the ice will have advantage. Jumping (Athletics or Acrobatics) to climb up the glacier's edge with a DC of 15 will subtract 5 feet from the climb. On a failure the character can still climb out normal taking 15 feet of movement, but the failed jump will cost an additional 5 feet of movement.)
With a cocky grin and a showy swagger, the pirate walked toward the battlefield. As he did, he withdrew Wisdom and Mercy, double-checking to ensure he'd left Grace behind. Faith, Hope, Joy, Love? All daggers check. Shortsword? The gladius-style blade hung from his side, sheathed, mostly out of the way. And with his longbow and quiver strapped to his back, the human looked a bit like a walking arsenal. Plate armor would have been more intimidating, but he'd always been a fan of mobility... studded leather would have to do. Black, of course.
His grin turned to a frown as he approached. "Where's my competition?" he asked aloud with a grunt.
Darius will draw Wisdom and Mercy (his rapiers) as he approaches. I'm also adding the complimentary start-of-battle-basic-healing-potion to his sheet.

A soft humming turns into a loud, "Are you kidding me?!" Fenkas steps through the doors into the coliseum and sees the massive glacier in the center, and just shakes his head in dismay. "So much for an open field," he groans as he unfurls his whip. Cracking it loudly in the air, an owl flies in lazy circles as it comes down from the sky and perches on the half-elf's shoulder. Stroking its neck gently the half-elf mutters to the owl, "Don't worry, you have a little more protection this time." Hearing the pirate call out for his competition the wizard responds, "I'm here! But you'll have to catch me first." Concentrating for a brief moment and centering his thoughts, Fenkas resumes his humming and shakes himself loose as his body begins to vibrate with energy. Letting the familiar feeling of battle take him over, he lets the world around him enter slow motion as he runs to a new location and then with the hood of his cloak shielding his face attempts to slip into the shadows behind the wall. Syldorn, meanwhile, stays perched on Fenkas's shoulder prepared to move at any instant should an attack fly in his direction.
Darius stoically nodded to Lenalia as she arrived. He'd seen how capable she was out in the battlefield, and found himself hoping she wound up on his team. Not that he had any intention of indicating such, though.

He then glanced over at the newly-arrived half-elf, just before he slipped into the shadows. Darius raised an eyebrow. Had he seen him before? He looked familiar... not that it mattered. He seemed to be a wizard, after all. "More magic," the pirate grumbled to himself.

A dragonborn walks into the coliseum with his mechanical drake at his side. "I've learned from my mistakes last time," he growls, "Now I'm here to win."
"Perfect terrain, weak opponents. Might beat this one!" Apium swoops down to I-1, 15 feet above the ground. Uttering a prayer, he summons a pair of curved blades at his side, on I-1 a10 feet above the ground.
As the contestants enter the arena ,Marmaduke over it again flies to an already excited crowd, and then announces with a booming voice. "Ladies, Gentlemen, and All things in-between or beyond! Welcome to the Coliseum!" The crowd roar and cheers for a moment. "Now, I hope you're ready for another exciting match, for without further adieu, allow me to introduce your competitors!"
"Soaring in on the winds of the divin is none other than our avian avatar of war, Apium the Almighty!!" A black-feathered Aarakocra held aloft 5ft above the ground and with two curved daggers floating nearby.
"From the distant seas seeking gold, renown, and new challenges is none other than Darius the Dreaded!" A dark-haired human man wielding a pair of rapier and bearing the firm footing of a seaman readies for battle.
"Carrying on the growing tradition of combine blade and elven song in the arena. Or in this case, a WHIP! Is none other than Fenkas the Fantastical!" A half-wood elf man with a whip at his hip and an owl watch on high, finalizes some last minute prep as well for the fight to come.
"Entering prepared for the season and thensome, I present to you... Lenalia the Lionhearted!" A show woman bearing a fancy shawl, elegant half-plate, and an almost divine beauty to her.
"Through trial and error one scaly individual has shown many a unique designs. But, his projects are done yet! Give it up for Merron the Molder!!" A hulking blue-scaled figure clad in an assortment of different metals and a fancy cape gives some signal to the mechanized drake at his side to rise and ready itself.
"And finally to help round out this cast of colorful competitors, say hello... the Barbarian, Leh Si!" A large, almond eyed human bearing a great halberd, a currently glowing, curly, and intricate sleeve of tattoos down one arm, steps into place(D10), ready to fly as soon as the match starts(D12-ground).
"With that! Let the soggy day match of the day...BEGIN!!!

Darius' smiled as the teams were split. He was ready to take on his opponents.
At the call of the start of the match, the pirate crouched, then shot up into the air, just clearing the wall. Stopping for just a second to notice Lenalia target an area, he then flew forward, eventually taking a defensive stance just short of the glacier's surface.

Comfortably concealed within his cloak, Fenkas hears the division of teams and thinks strategy for a second. The pirate and the singer on his team, versus the beast, the flier, and the tinkerer. This would be interesting. Seeing his two allies take off towards the opponents, Fenkas lets the world slow down even more around him as he debates an extra layer of protection. Deciding against it, he slips around the wall and through the door. Using his added speed, he sprints up the side of the glacier flipping backward off the top edge of the glacier. In midair, he fires a single bead of flames from his finger set to explode just over his opponents' wall and hopefully engulf as many of them in flames as possible. Landing back behind the glacier, he calls a tip to his teammates, "We are going to need someone to stay near the flag when it becomes available for capture and I'm not so good at staying in the same place for very long." Glancing to his left and speaking to the singer, he continues, "No offense, but you don't look like you would last too long in a melee." Looking up and to the right, "Pirate, care to volunteer?" Although his words sound like they are coming out at a normal pace to Fenkas, he is actually speaking at around 350-400 WPM. He then vanishes again into the area behind the glacier and disappears entirely from view.

Lenalia struts forward, and with some difficulty, strums a note on her bandore as to summon a great cube's worth of flitting, dancing lights determined to attach themselves onto those within the area.
Darius takes to the air and advances a way. Stopping just short of landing atop the glacia, he takes in the sight of Lenalia's magical display, before slipping into a more defensive posture.
Fenkasis quick to remind everyone the meaning of speed as he zips atop the glacier, and unleashes a fireball to accompany Lenalia's light show. Then following a "short" suggestion to the others of a gameplan, the bladesinger is soon ducking out of sight once more. All the while his owl companion hangs on for dear life...

Can Apium see Syldorn? Apium flies to P16, makes his spiritual weapon go 20 feet forward, he then sends out a magic missile at syldorn if he can see it. If he can't, he instead tries to burn Lenalia with Holy Vengeance. At the end of his turn, he ducks down behind the cover of the wall.
If he can see Syldorn: 1*3+3 force damage, from magic missile
If he can't see Syldorn, Lenalia must make a DC 14 dex saving throw, or take 9 radiant damage

Apium flies forth alongside spectral daggers. But whereas the blades spiral they were well past the avian being, Apium calls forth holy fire to rain down upon Lenalia. Regardless of whether that's enough or not to put the Sorad(Barcer?) down, he then retreats a ways and flutters down just to above the high walls level.
Merron & Tin just barely survive one the flames of Fenkas. The former doesn't let that slow him down however, as he's soon rushing all glowing and shining and climbing his way atop the glacier before mending much of his wounds. Tin stays on defense mode for now.
Leh'Si flies into a bestial rage that transforms his fingers into long sharp talons. Talon's his eager to make use of after flying up and just over the lip of the glacier, before then bum rushing Lenalia's position. And though not able to quite reach her, he slashes and punches at the air, sending dark spectral versions of his strikes right for the performer in a reckless assault!

Darius just smirked at the suggestion. He had been thinking the same thing; having teammates on the same page should make things easy.
"Well, provided all this magic flying around doesn't screw things up," he thought. Assessing the landscape, he decided Merron was too far away to engage in a rematch; the flag would have to take immediate priority. A little disappointed at his lack of combat so far, the pirate quickly flew to hover near the flag, ready to claim it. Rapiers raised, he eyed his opponents warily, almost eager for the inevitable assault.
(( With the glacier's elevation, Darius' movement should end him at I-8, still 3 feet above the glacier. If needed, he'll use up the last of his movement to ensure he remains floating above the ice. ))

Darius stoically nodded to Lenalia as she arrived. He'd seen how capable she was out in the battlefield, and found himself hoping she wound up on his team. Not that he had any intention of indicating such, though.

He then glanced over at the newly-arrived half-elf, just before he slipped into the shadows. Darius raised an eyebrow. Had he seen him before? He looked familiar... not that it mattered. He seemed to be a wizard, after all. "More magic," the pirate grumbled to himself.

As the contestants enter the arena ,Marmaduke over it again flies to an already excited crowd, and then announces with a booming voice. "Ladies, Gentlemen, and All things in-between or beyond! Welcome to the Coliseum!" The crowd roar and cheers for a moment. "Now, I hope you're ready for another exciting match, for without further adieu, allow me to introduce your competitors!"
"Soaring in on the winds of the divin is none other than our avian avatar of war, Apium the Almighty!!" A black-feathered Aarakocra held aloft 5ft above the ground and with two curved daggers floating nearby.
"From the distant seas seeking gold, renown, and new challenges is none other than Darius the Dreaded!" A dark-haired human man wielding a pair of rapier and bearing the firm footing of a seaman readies for battle.
"Carrying on the growing tradition of combine blade and elven song in the arena. Or in this case, a WHIP! Is none other than Fenkas the Fantastical!" A half-wood elf man with a whip at his hip and an owl watch on high, finalizes some last minute prep as well for the fight to come.
"Entering prepared for the season and thensome, I present to you... Lenalia the Lionhearted!" A show woman bearing a fancy shawl, elegant half-plate, and an almost divine beauty to her.
"Through trial and error one scaly individual has shown many a unique designs. But, his projects are done yet! Give it up for Merron the Molder!!" A hulking blue-scaled figure clad in an assortment of different metals and a fancy cape gives some signal to the mechanized drake at his side to rise and ready itself.
"And finally to help round out this cast of colorful competitors, say hello... the Barbarian, Leh Si!" A large, almond eyed human bearing a great halberd, a currently glowing, curly, and intricate sleeve of tattoos down one arm, steps into place(D10), ready to fly as soon as the match starts(D12-ground).
"With that! Let the soggy day match of the day...BEGIN!!!

Darius' smiled as the teams were split. He was ready to take on his opponents.
At the call of the start of the match, the pirate crouched, then shot up into the air, just clearing the wall. Stopping for just a second to notice Lenalia target an area, he then flew forward, eventually taking a defensive stance just short of the glacier's surface.

Comfortably concealed within his cloak, Fenkas hears the division of teams and thinks strategy for a second. The pirate and the singer on his team, versus the beast, the flier, and the tinkerer. This would be interesting. Seeing his two allies take off towards the opponents, Fenkas lets the world slow down even more around him as he debates an extra layer of protection. Deciding against it, he slips around the wall and through the door. Using his added speed, he sprints up the side of the glacier flipping backward off the top edge of the glacier. In midair, he fires a single bead of flames from his finger set to explode just over his opponents' wall and hopefully engulf as many of them in flames as possible. Landing back behind the glacier, he calls a tip to his teammates, "We are going to need someone to stay near the flag when it becomes available for capture and I'm not so good at staying in the same place for very long." Glancing to his left and speaking to the singer, he continues, "No offense, but you don't look like you would last too long in a melee." Looking up and to the right, "Pirate, care to volunteer?" Although his words sound like they are coming out at a normal pace to Fenkas, he is actually speaking at around 350-400 WPM. He then vanishes again into the area behind the glacier and disappears entirely from view.

Lenalia struts forward, and with some difficulty, strums a note on her bandore as to summon a great cube's worth of flitting, dancing lights determined to attach themselves onto those within the area.
Darius takes to the air and advances a way. Stopping just short of landing atop the glacia, he takes in the sight of Lenalia's magical display, before slipping into a more defensive posture.
Fenkas is quick to remind everyone the meaning of speed as he zips atop the glacier, and unleashes a fireball to accompany Lenalia's light show. Then following a "short" suggestion to the others of a gameplan, the bladesinger is soon ducking out of sight once more. All the while his owl companion hangs on for dear life...

Can Apium see Syldorn? Apium flies to P16, makes his spiritual weapon go 20 feet forward, he then sends out a magic missile at syldorn if he can see it. If he can't, he instead tries to burn Lenalia with Holy Vengeance. At the end of his turn, he ducks down behind the cover of the wall.
If he can see Syldorn: 1*3+3 force damage, from magic missile
If he can't see Syldorn, Lenalia must make a DC 14 dex saving throw, or take 9 radiant damage
EDIT: Apium instead moves to N16, after moving forward ten feet, moving backward ten feet, then flying to N 16 and flying down 5 feet

Apium flies forth alongside spectral daggers. But whereas the blades spiral they were well past the avian being, Apium calls forth holy fire to rain down upon Lenalia. Regardless of whether that's enough or not to put the Sorad(Barcer?) down, he then retreats a ways and flutters down just to above the high walls level.
Merron & Tin just barely survive one the flames of Fenkas. The former doesn't let that slow him down however, as he's soon rushing all glowing and shining and climbing his way atop the glacier before mending much of his wounds. Tin stays on defense mode for now.
Leh'Si flies into a bestial rage that transforms his fingers into long sharp talons. Talon's his eager to make use of after flying up and just over the lip of the glacier, before then bum rushing Lenalia's position. And though not able to quite reach her, he slashes and punches at the air, sending dark spectral versions of his strikes right for the performer in a reckless assault!

Darius just smirked at the suggestion. He had been thinking the same thing; having teammates on the same page should make things easy.
"Well, provided all this magic flying around doesn't screw things up," he thought. Assessing the landscape, he decided Merron was too far away to engage in a rematch; the flag would have to take immediate priority. A little disappointed at his lack of combat so far, the pirate quickly flew to hover near the flag, ready to claim it. Rapiers raised, he eyed his opponents warily, almost eager for the inevitable assault.
