((@Twombley That's fair. Also, you passed the check, so you wouldn't have gotten poisoned either way.))
This cavern is naturally cold for some reason, it hovers a few degrees above freezing year round, regardless of the warm season outside. You feel a sudden chill from the change of temperature.
As you step into the chamber, the smell of old blood assaults your nose. The floor is covered with dried puddles of it. Four floor-to-ceiling columns are spaced across the chamber, and chains have been strung between them like clothesline. Animal carcasses hang on hooks from the chains. You see gutted and skinned antelope, deer, goats, what might be big cats, and even a few small bears. Some of this meat has been here for a while if the smell is a reliable indicator.
Among the dead animals, you see remains of what doesn't look like just woodland game...

Petmailer's antenna is up and he is worried by what he sees. He holds his hand up to the party in a "stop" manner, crouches down, and moves stealthily into the room to see if they have company, specifically looking for what is eating these carcasses. He examines the remains, are there any bodies here? He readies an arrow just in case...

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Petmailer, the carcasses range from very fresh to several months old. The meat is only cold, not frozen, so the older items are slowly going bad. If you had to guess, the meat here is stored for eventual use when the dragon eggs hatch and the ravenous hatchlings emerge.
When you look into the suspicious remains, you see humanoid fingers, a pair of dismembered limbs, a foot and ribs. These remains are of small size.

Petmailer, when you inspect the remains, you just find that they are the size to have belonged to the corpse of a halfling, but everything else is mere speculation.
On the next chamber, you find trash that the cultists seem to have dumped here. Along with normal sorts of refuse, such as broken pottery, rotted baskets, and mouse-chewed rope, they’ve also thrown out items that appear useful from a distance: discarded clothes, worn boots, tattered books, cracked lamps, and so forth.
Among the garbage, you see glints of metal and what looks like parchment.

The metal glints belong to a dagger and things like broken armor, belt buckles without belts and what looks like chainmail.
The parchment belongs to books and journals. Most have been rendered illegible by water damage, but on the journal you can make out the following words:
Inside, they lurk
i'm afraid of the light under the [unreadable]
Soon, when they hatch
i want to go home please let me go home let me go let me go letmegoletmegoletmego
You can tell that some of these items came from prisoners who died, and others were taken in treasure raids and later deemed to be unworthy of Tiamat.

As you walk forward, you find broad steps that are roughly hewn into a natural stone ramp. The cavern below is carpeted with a profusion of fungi ranging from a few inches high to nearly as tall as a human adult. Two paths lead through the fungi: one on the right and one on the left.

When you walk down the stairs are constructed so that the lowest steps collapse into a ramp that dumps anyone who doesn't know where to avoid stepping right at the base of the violet fungi, but because ever since you found the poisoned spikes you've been wary of traps you spot the trap just in time.
You also see that the path you are walking seems heavily used, considering the amount of footprints.
When you reach the next chamber, you see a worrisome sight: The ground is completely littered with dead bats. It appears to have happened recently, as the corpses have yet to rot, and you remember the bats being alive when you entered the cave. A spear with a pitted blade lies on the floor near the top of the steps.
