a23 recklessly pulls his axe from the door and swings into it hard!
Attack: 21 Damage: 9
Reckless Attack: When you make your first attack on your turn, you can decide to attack recklessly, giving you advantage on melee weapon attack rolls using STR during this turn, but attack rolls against you have advantage until your next turn.
if he breaks through, a23 will charge through the door
Errona successfully breaks through the window. Shards of glass and ice fall to the ground below, as she proceeds to tumble out onto the street outside.
a23 slashes open the door this time, escaping to the hallway. Rinaldo's mouth is agape as splinters of wood fly in all directions.
" I hope you are ready to pay for this door and window Rinaldo. You can't just go summoning poltergeists and then locking people in a room with them. If was smarter I might think you were trying to have us killed. You weren't doing that were you Rinaldo? "
Insight: 13
As Lumen is talking he waves his hand and fires a Guiding Bolt off towards the ghostly creature and continues to attempt to batter it with the morning star.
"No, Lumen! I have never seen anything like this in all the years I have...AHHHHHHHH!!!" Rinaldo screams as he sees the robot and Roc charge into the hallway.
Lumen suddenly recalls that Rinaldo has the reputation of being a showman in more ways than one, rumors being that his ghost shows were a hoax to make money from unsuspecting tourists in Easthaven.
The cleric's conversation seems to distract him as he misses the specter!
The poltergeist turns to the only remaining target in the room and uses a psychic slam against Lumen.
Attack: 17 Damage: 16
The attack brushes past him as if it were a strong gust of wind.
Lumen does his best to hold out behind his shield and armor against the onslaught. " I can't just go leaving the undead to wreak havoc around town. " He replies to Roc.
Lumen's guiding bolts this time make their mark on the poltergeist, causing her to shriek in pain. Its ghastly aura dissipates, leaving a less violent image of a woman in its wake. (17 damage, 24 total)
"Where....am I?" she asks. "Where is my husband?"
Rinaldo, sensing that the commotion has ended, peeks around the gaping hole in the wall where the door once was. "My word...the White Lady...?"
Combat has ended. Please award yourselves with 250 xp.
" My lady. I do apologize. I think we may have accidentally caused you some distress." Lumen motions Rinaldo back in. " Who was your husband, so I might help you?"
Lumen looks around at the wreckage of the door and window. " You all really are quite good at making a mess of things. I'm glad we are staying here instead of my home suddenly, though I don't know how much longer that will be true with the state of things here."
"My husband...he boarded a ship in hopes of finding a magic cauldron hidden in some frozen, lakeside cave...it was rumored that the cauldron could conjure enough stew to feed a starving town indefinitely...but it has been ages since he has returned...if something were to happen to him..." The White Lady looks to her ghastly hands. "...happen to....me?" She looks part of the glass still attached to the window frame. "Have I...?"
Rinaldo, peeking cautiously from the side of the door frame, mutters: "What she speaks of happened centuries ago...it is known only to the townsmen as a legend or baseless myth! The husband was more interested in the money he could make by obtaining the cauldron for himself..."
" I am sorry my Lady. I know not what happened to your husband. It seems your worry for him did not end well for yourself. Is there anything I can do to help put you to rest? Would you like me to see what I can find about your husband? I did see a cauldron in a lakeside cave recently."
"Perhaps. I am still not sure what to make of....this..." The White Lady continues to look at her reflection in the shards of glass. Her gaze immediately shifts to Errona as she peeks her head above the windowsill. She then turns back to Lumen and Roc. "Yes...that sounds like what my husband was after... I will..." Noticing that she is floating above the ground, the White Lady hovers higher. "...roam around here until next we meet." she says, before dissipating as she approaches the ceiling.
Rinaldo collapses where he stands. "Oh, my legs are trembling! I believe I am done with this line of business. Yes."
" Good job everyone. I do admire your courage, but I'm unsure if the innkeeper will appreciate our work on his establishment. If he won't let us stay here, I guess I can take the dust covers off some of the guest rooms." He leaves to go try to smooth things over with the innkeeper Bartaban.
Rinaldo palms a23's gold piece in his quivering hand. "Um...thank you...killer machine...." He stares blankly in disbelief and shock of the entire situation.
Lumen makes his way to the reception area to find Bartaban asleep in his chair, snoring loudly.
...
Rinaldo eventually finds the strength to stand, making his way to Lumen at the front of the inn. "I-I'll explain this. It's the least I can do considering that you may have saved my life and all..."
Errona will move back to the front of the house and wait for her party to exit...
She will say to them "Well, another easy job. Good job on that Mr. Sparkly Cleric... You may not be good with big skeletons but you do have a thing for them ghost ladies."
With that said Errona will head back to find a place to retire for the night and will plan to depart town tomorrow to venture to the other village and turn the head in.
Realizing that it could be dangerous to travel long distances so late at night, the adventurers decide to accept Lumen's offer of shelter.
Lumen's home is not grand, as most all homes in Easthaven are not grand. It is a harsh land. But his home is of a more than modest size. The home has a few pieces of nicer furniture, and a large fireplace, but for the most part all the furniture is currently covered in white dust cloths, because Lumen was leaving on a journey and he was not sure when he would return.
" My blessings from Amunator are not always so effective sadly. Come it will be good to have some extra people. It has just been me in this house for quite some time."
He works to get a fire started in the fireplace before he goes about the house removing cloths and cleaning the place up.
As he uncovers the furniture, some of the pieces are of a fancy make reminiscent of somewhere to the south, but most of the pieces are crafted from local wood and seem typical for the area.
Roc whistles while running his fingers over one of the fancy furniture pieces...
"Whewwww.... These are some nice pieces you have here. I'd be nervous leaving my house unattended for so long. But, you do seem fairly well known so maybe no one would bother you.

Will the party retire for the night?
a23 approaches rinaldo, making no effort to avoid the debris from the busted door.
”well done bard. i admit, at first i was skeptical of your abilities to conjure a spirit, let alone put on a believable performance. impressive.”
he hands a gold piece to rinaldo.
“i will be recommending your show to many others.“
