Adelle just smiles and raises her eyebrows at Harrag.
Ah huh. Well if you can't or... won't tell me where he is I guess me and the lads outside will be coming in for a few drinks this evening while we wait for our good slaver friend. My apologies Harrag, but it looks like this won't be done as quietly as I had wished it to be in order to save the.... reputation of the Leviathan.
Adelle rises from her relaxed pose against the bar looks at the other two and nods.
Bert smiles and rubs his hand against his mouth. He appears to whisper, but a message appears in Adelle's head. "Forgive the sudden intrusion, but I have some arcane tricks I've picked up. I'm quiet, and can get in and out of most places."(There's a chance for Adelle to reply here.)
He pauses and says again in the same fashion, "my friend here has a lot of skills, handy in a fight, good with animals, and sneaky too."(Another chance for a silent reply.)
He speaks again, one more time telepathically: "Was going to offer to look here for this slaver after you left. Don't like slavery. But if you could use backup at this warehouse, perhaps..." (Final chance to reply telepathically.)
He speaks conventionally, after the exchange, in a voice that is serene, and easy to listen to. "Apologies for the head-talk without warning. I'm still getting used to it, and we've been on our own for a while. Been a while since we've spent time in a city, and I surely miss it. I'm more at home on the rooftops than in the forests or open fields at this point."
Adelle's first reply as she kind of twitches and narrows her eyes slightly at Bert. Is that so? What else?
She doesn't reply so much to the second message only tilts her head slightly in interest.
The third time Ok ok I get it. Talk out loud please... this is weird.
She gives her head a bit of a shake. Not used to hearing voices in her head. So you two are after some work then?... Alright I'm sure the Captain can get it approved... We'd best go see him now if you two are up for it?
Bert looks at Zook, eyebrows raised. "I'm up for a bit of fun if you are, my friend. What do you say?"
No matter Zook's reply, he'll nod at Adelle. "Sounds like a good way to get to know a town. I'm game to talk to your mercenary captain. As for other skills, I'm decent in a fight, I'm great as disguises, and I can make friends suddenly and easily. And climbing's a cinch."
He is ready to head out. I assume Harrag is elsewhere and out of earshot? Or is he there watching and listening?
As Bert looks over to Zook, he sees that his gnomish friend has apparently fallen asleep. With his head on the table, he's zonked out, no doubt from many days of excitement and sheer boredom during their journey to Neverwinter.
Bert elbows Zook gently in the ribs with one arm and with the other arm he returns the handshake, then suddenly pauses and wonders if he was supposed to do something fancy to her hand (gallant chaps kiss the fingers of maidens in the bards' stories) but looks again at Adelle and concludes she's not the dainty type, so he sticks to a friendly, straightforward shake.
"Bert Termagird, new arrival to Neverwinter. Member in good standing of the cartographer's guild, and, well, from all over. If you get some wine in me, I have some stories about the Feywild that will curl your toes. My friend here is Zook, and he should be awake now. Don't take it personally. He's a bit... bucolic. But he's handy in a fight. Anyhow, what's the plan here?"
The plan first up is, to head back to Headquarters and pull out the maps and get the layout of the area. Then come up with a plan, get the go ahead from my Captain and then sneak in grab the scumbag and get out. Hopefully intact.
Adelle looks around and sighs.
Come on we got a lot to do and not much time left until nightfall.
Bert nods, grabs his pack, and claps his hands together. "Well, we can rest when we're dead. I'm a little dusty from the road still I hope you don't mind."
At Bert's prodding, Zook finally twitches, opens his eyes and sits up quickly, then wipes the steam of saliva from his beard and from the table where he was just laying his small head.
"Er... ummm... Yes!! Hello.. I'm up now!!! Ready to go!"
"Wait... what are we doing? I'm sorry, I think I may have missed part of the conversation. I must be tired from our long journey. I'll confess, though, I was having the most wonderful dream. I was back in the heartlands and there was this huge... Oh never mind, I don't think I actually remember what it was about. At any rate, I'm all pip and primed for whatever comes next.... whatever that may be."
"Going to help Adelle find someone who's been naughty. Let's go!"Bert says, clapping Zook on the back. He turns to Adelle. "We're not usually this slow. Just been a while on the road. We're up for this!"

Gentlemen.
She turns to step away.
Adelle smiles and turns back around.
Thank you Harrag, you are most kind. Why not take a sizeable force?
She once again leans against the bar.
Adelle nods at Harrag.
Good point. Very well, thank you.
She reaches into her money pouch and produces one gp and flips it to Harrag.
For your trouble.
Adelle then eyes the other two for a moment considering an idea.
What skills do you two have?
Bert smiles and rubs his hand against his mouth. He appears to whisper, but a message appears in Adelle's head. "Forgive the sudden intrusion, but I have some arcane tricks I've picked up. I'm quiet, and can get in and out of most places." (There's a chance for Adelle to reply here.)

What are the waitstaff doing at this point?

Adelle smiles then looks to his companion waiting for an answer.
As Bert looks over to Zook, he sees that his gnomish friend has apparently fallen asleep. With his head on the table, he's zonked out, no doubt from many days of excitement and sheer boredom during their journey to Neverwinter.
Adelle straightens and offers her hand to the elf.
Loc Adelle of the White Sails. Nice to meet you... Ahhh what do you want to do about your friend here?
She glances at the sleeping gnome.

It's a pleasure.
Adelle smiles at Bert's introduction.

He looks at Zook in a "come on, bud" manner...
Adelle just shrugs and with a gesture to Oden she heads for the exit.
Not to worry, it's not like we live in the lap of luxury here... come on lads.
At Bert's prodding, Zook finally twitches, opens his eyes and sits up quickly, then wipes the steam of saliva from his beard and from the table where he was just laying his small head.
