Onyx stares at Sho for a few moments, unsure of what the shady cleric had planned.
"Wake me up when you're ready to swap."
He gathers his belongings best as he can and starts to take a long rest.
(Any luck ID'ing that potion?)
Yes! You taste the familiar tastes of healing magic, except a bit more. You would guess this would cure a number of ailments and should be useful in the coming days...perhaps. Elixir of Health
Watch Sho, Onyx, Erven 8 hours will take you what you’d think is early morning. The sky remains dull and overcast, the trace of mint wafting in from the north carrying with it the promise of rain. Clumps of mist come and go, and you can spot others in the distance. The mists do not come close to you, however, circled as you are together.
Before finally disappearing with the chest into his refuge, Talion glances warily at it, remembering the door that tried to eat Erven, the wolves, the broomstick...everything that seemed to come to life in the house. Unable to shake the irrational fear, his hand glows with a flickering purple light as he tries to launch an arcane bolt at the 'creature'. If nothing eventuates, he tries to finally provoke it into action by turning it upside down and scratching the base with his dagger.
Later as they settle down to rest, he yawns and speak quietly to Sho, "You still owe me a tale. But not tonight. I need rest."
Sho watched intently as Talion tested the chest. It still didn't sit quite right with him - Why would Strahd give back their equipment without tempering with them first? He looked through all his things carefully, nerves taut, examining them, looking for any subtle new markings or divination sigils - any links that will allow Strahd to watch or listen in on them... Then he resigned into further pondering.
Later as they settle down to rest, he yawns and speak quietly to Sho, "You still owe me a tale. But not tonight. I need rest."
Sho set his shield down beside him, and unrolled his bedroll. He turned to look at Talion, and studied him. The white light of his circlet picked off all the warmth on his face, leaving the unyielding black of his iris, and the blue green dark circle under his eyes. He nodded lightly, "Okay."
Then he stayed silent for a moment, long enough to make you think he was done, but he started again, "Do you know what happens when a person dies, Talion?" He said it in a tone that seemed like he was going to elucidate further, but then this time he was really done.
Talion has a fitful nights sleep, and is relieved to wake up as first light filters into their make-shift shelter. Despite the nightmares, he feels better than he has since they found themselves in the Strahd's accursed land. He stares at Sho for a moment, "Remind me not to talk to you before I go to sleep", then starts to get ready for the day ahead.
The dismal weather is better than the mists, better than the chanting, and better than the memories that were given life again by Sho's question. His gaze takes in the path, the forest, and the mountains. Once everyone is ready -- or at least awake -- he looks down the path from which they came, "So...head west?"
Erven is watching as everyone wakes up. He is sitting down on the ground with his legs crossed, calm expression on his face, but eyes alert and keen in the dark. He keeps and eye on Lucky Bear and observes her behavior through the night when he is on watch, as well as keeping an eye out for the undead.
As you come awake he restarts a little fire that had died out, and warms himself, invites you over. He picks up where Talion left off, “Yes, west would be a good bet, I found our foot prints from when we entered here, the trail heading back toward the caravan I presume. I would follow that path.” He starts looking through his arrows, sharpening the tips and checking the feathers, checking his bow string and oiling the wood, rubbing it with a cloth.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.

@Talion Mistrusting of everyday objects, you eye the chest carefully. Your hand glows with glowing energy for an instant before dimming itself. You flip the chest over and are surprised to see something already scratched into the dark wood bottom. It says, "Strahd was here." You snort and scratch your own graffiti into the chest bottom. You are reasonably sure that the chest is not a creature that will attack you. What other effects it could have you give little thought to, as you steal away into your refuge with your newest spoils.
@Sho You don't see anything on your weapons or possessions that are different than before. You know that there are certain spells that become easier if there is some sort of connection from the caster to the target.
Watches Sho, your watch goes without issue. Onyx, mid-way through your watch, you hear shuffling and groaning outside the structure. As you look around and wait, you notice some trees and bushes about 60 feet in the distance rustling and moving. All at once, the smell of decay and death assails your senses and you have that familiar prickling at the back of your neck - undead! Lucky Bear raises her head and begins to growl softly. Your thoughts are confirmed as several shambling figures fall out of the brush into the cleared area of the house. Luckily, the old fence separates you from the zombies but it's only a matter of time before they find their way in.....there are 8 of them from what you can see....
Onyx quietly nudges Sho awake first with his boot.
"Sorry, friend. I know you just got to rest, but we have visitors," he whispers urgently. He fastens his shield and blade as he rouses Talion and Erven as well.

Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
Here's a visual, if that helps. The walls seem pretty strong and are holding but who knows for how long? Also, the house is rubble at this point but it is tirelessly working on reforming itself. Every so often you notice beams and pieces poking up and growing.
Bertolt glares at the rebuilding house, looking as though he wanted to use his magic to destroy it or as much of it as he could. He made no move to do so as he knew that it would do nothing to stop the house from reforming. "The sooner we leave this place the better off we shall be."
Erven says in a low voice, "Do you want me to start shooting them with my bow? It would be like fish in a barrel right now. I don't want them to break through the fence in a group. Sho, can you turn them away or burn them up? Let's attack as one."
"Another option is that I could sneak out of the gate, attack them from behind, distract them such that you would have time to exit from the gate and leave. With my abilities, they would not be able to see me, I am much faster than they are and I could distract them so that we could get away."
Dread AmbusherXGtE, pg. 42
You add your WIS modifier (+3) to initiative rolls. At the start of your first turn of each combat, your walking speed increases by 10 ft., which lasts until the end of that turn. If you take the Attack action, you can make one additional weapon attack that deals an extra 1d8 damage of the weapon’s damage type on hit.
Dread Ambusher: (No Action)
Umbral Sight XGtE, pg. 42
You gain darkvision out to a range of 60 ft. (+30 ft. if you already have it). While in darkness, you are invisible to any creature that relies on darkvision to see you in that darkness.
Sho rouses. He lights up his circlet and narrows his eyes in the incoming zombies, then scans the outbuilding they are staying in. He sighs. "Let's climb out of here and find somewhere else to rest."
He eyes the vigorous elf, "They may just be interested in the house. No need to engage unless we have to."
Talion HP for short rest: 8 and 3 (( assuming next long rest will be a level 3 rest so two dice can be recovered ))
Talion looks tired and sore, having only slept fitfully for a short time. He nods at Sho's suggestion, "Not really feeling in the mood for a fight right now. If they want the house, good luck to them."
As Talion finally shakes off the last of his dreams, and looks more closely at the creatures. A moment later he lets out a sigh, "Judging by where they are looking, I don't think the house is their destination."
The fence bows inwards, straining against the weight of the zombies pushing against it. It won't be long before they break through but you still have time to leave, if that's what you want to do...
Bertolt will move away from where the zombies are building up on them, looking to the others closely. "If we are going to leave then we should do so now..."
