Bertolt looks around the room but keeps his curiosity in check for the most part, this fading as he is offered the small crossbow. He nods and quickly moves to grab a bolt, sliding it into place while making sure that it will not misfire.
As the letters are found he quickly moves over to read them. As his eyes cross over the paper he comes his arms deep in thought. "This disease sounds very strange... Now we should be on our guard even more."
Onyx is in the room as well. Glancing into the chest, he recoils. He hadn't been expecting that - whomever had designed this trap had a certain diabolical imagination. It would be impressive if it weren't so grotesque.

Sho keeps a distance while Talion opens the chest, the sound of the chest being opened lets out a quiet, deathly, mournful whimper in the silent den, except for the sound of the fireplace crackling, though that sound is weakened as well, as if it were stepping aside for the main stage being revealed.
Looking inside, the eyes and tongues that had been decapitated lay under the parchment, and unlike the stained yellowing parchment, the blood in the case was still fresh and damp, and he would have thought that this gruesome torture had happened not long ago, or that someone had preserved it with magic means, but he couldn't convince himself either way. He was reluctant to use detect magic again, the magical aura of the surrounding darkness was too overwhelming and it was hard to separate out specific characteristics. The mansion looked uninhabited and abandoned for a long time, but it was not at peace, but rather as if the house itself had sentience, waiting stoically for its next prey.
As you read the blood-stained note, a couple of odd things happen:
You finish the note and the level of light in the room decreases - the fire and the chandelier dim greatly. You are then frozen in place as you see a shimmering green figure walk into the room and sit at the chair in front of the fire. This figure is a human male, balding and lean; he is dressed in fine clothing and carries a despairing visage on his face, broken even. He reaches to the side table and picks up a dagger. Grunting in pain, he seems to be doing something to himself but you can't quite see properly. When he finishes, the dagger drops to the ground. You see him crawl around the side of the chair, trailing blood the entire time. He opens the box that is near you, spitting a bloody piece of flesh into it (you recognize it as a tongue), and drops two bloody eyes into it. He uses his fingers and begins scratching at the box, his gurgled words lost in the bloody mess that is his mouth. His scratching breaks his fingernails, wearing them down to the bone, but it gets the job done. He has inscribed some sort of symbol on the top. He speaks a word and closes the box. He gets up and walks unsteadily through the door again.
You all look at the box. The spectre was an illusion and the box remains open but as you peer closer in the dim light, it begins to fill with a viscous red liquid - blood! It fills and fills until there is no more room and it spills onto the floor at your feet. Impossibly it begins to move across the floor in three streams, each leading to a stuffed wolf. You watch in denial as the blood seeps into the stuffed corpses and the wolves begin growling and twitching, soon they are able to fully move. They step off their bases and begin to growl, baring their teeth at you, an unnatural green fire serve as their eyes.......
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
W3 moves across the room, growling and running, and it will lunge at Sho's throat, its teeth slobbering and gnashing: Attack:10Damage: 8 *if it's a hit, Sho - roll a STR save (DC11) or be knocked prone
Talion, you're up! (Onyx will get in when they roll)
Cursing under his breath again, Talion moves west and away from the wolves then launches a bolt of energy at the wolf that is attacking the priest. Why now? What did we do this time?
Attack: 12 Damage: 8, if it hits, +2 Bludgeon and +2 necrotic.
(( I am assuming Talion is holding the club in his left hand, with an empty right hand ))
[which ability is affected from Talion?] @Talion You hex the W3 and it shakes its head a little bit and growls. You throw the blast towards the wolf but with Sho in the way, your line of sight is hindered. The blast skims the beast's torso but doesn't hit - a miss!
W1 - this wolf puts its head down and approaches Erven carefully before it launches itself at the ranger: Attack:21Damage:7 *on a hit, roll a STR save (DC11) or be knockedprone
W2 - this wolf runs up beside W3 to attack Sho: Attack:16Damage: 8 *on a hit, roll a STR save (DC11) or be knockedprone
Bertolt will aim his new crossbow, pointing it towards W2 before pulling the trigger to let the bolt fly towards the beast. Then as a bonus action he will turn his attention to Sho, giving an Inspiration die. "You are now at th center of this stage, bring the beasts to an end and show your might!"
The swaying black shadows, the roaming ghosts and monsters, the dark packs of demons, gradually materialized into a black wolf pack. Sho’s eyes widen as he sees the beasts charging towards him. Bracing himself on the ground, he manages to stand up as he reaches out his hand, under his heavy breath muttering the chant, two spectral skeletal hand reaches out for the wolves engaging him.
@Bert You raise your shiny new crossbow, trying to aim at W2around Sho. Your bolt just misses the wolf and, gritting your teeth, you sing out an inspiring melody to Sho. - a miss!
@Erven You stagger from W1's lunge and are just able to keep from falling! You push the wolf back and haul back an unleash fury upon the beast, cracking it hard in the face with your whip, significantly injuring it. Seeing an opportunity, you lunge forward and plunge your dagger hilt-deep into the side of its neck. W1 shudders and slumps to the ground. - W1 is dead!
@Sho The wolf barrels into you and you fall to the ground. Luckily, you are able to make it back to your feet quickly enough to loose your spells. Feeling confident thanks to Bertolt's encouragement, both attacks hit the wolves - W2 and W3! *W2 takes the hit and is standing - a bit rough, W3 is looking very bad, frothing blood at the mouth and wobbly!
@Onyx As you were about to charge W1, you see Erven take it down. Grinning, you head on to W2 and strike - a hit! *W2 is looking in rough shape - not as bad as W3 but it is also starting to breath heavily, the wound from Onyx taking its toll!
W3attacks Sho again, jumping at your neck: Attack: 19Damage: 9 **on a hit, roll a STR save (DC11) or be knocked prone
Talion, you're up!
Map is pretty much the same. W1 is dead, Onyx has moved up to where W1 was and attacking W2.

"Trap or no, you all fight with spirit! I am proud to fight alongside each of you. Let us impress our diabolical host!"
