Erven continues to stare off into space up the stairs as far back as he can.
The rest of you are in the happy-fun room, Bertolt having put some oil in the lamp and lit it to be able to see [Sho benefits from this as well, have to remember this going forward!]
As Onyx and Talion start again, the rest of you (except Erven) notice Talion's rising voice and increasing frustration or anger - you can't place it. And was that statue always smiling....?
For Talion
it's been about 10 minutes or so, since you defeated the ghouls...
Sho glances at Onyx, then turns to look at the Talion. He sighs softly. He could see Talion is grasping, however an irrational notion, it is always easier to believe there is a straight forward solution to a confliction. “He is not possessed.” He says reassuringly, “I would have known.”
“I am not that arrogant or blind to claim that I serve the true and good cause, when life and death is the two sides of the same scale. The difference is people suffer after one, not the other. If your god is free to bring whoever he wants onto the world, then mine is free to take anyone he pleases as well.”
Either way, Sho goes to take point. Seems like we are interested in the trapdoor…

Either way, Sho goes to take point. Seems like we are interested in the trapdoor…
The trapdoor is in the ceiling at the end of those stairs that Erven went up. If you move that way, you'll also see a rock-still Erven staring ahead blankly, perched up agains the wall.
As you get closer to Erven, you note the sweaty and clammy skin and the vacant look in his eyes. You surmise that he has likely been afflicted by some sort of temporary madness or insanity caused by stress or anxiety - or perhaps even the horror of this place - or some unspoken of personal hell that he is undergoing. Maybe a combination of all of the above. One things is for sure: he seems oblivious to you or his surroundings and does not respond to your presence or voice at all. It's possible that perhaps some sort of shock could snap him out of this stupor...
You pick her up awkwardly and bring her close to Erven's face. She tries to squirm out of your grasp....roll an animal handling check with disadvantage.
While trying to corral Lucky Bear to get her to try to lick Erven's face, the dog yelps and snaps at you, causing you to let her go. Luckily, no skin was broken and no dogs were harmed during this particular stunt. Lucky Bear runs off towards Talion...
Sho watches speechlessly as Lucky jumped away, wagging her tail and circling Talion. He looks at Talion in silence for a long and still moment, seemingly rethinking his life choices. Finally he starts, “I think Erven is in shock. He’s going through something… anxiety, stress, or panic. He may have lost it. If we can get him back…”
He snaps his fingers several times in front of Erven’s unresponsive eyes, signs then turns to others, “... The dog won’t lick him. Someone else has to do it.”
Bertolt will move forward towards him and clear his throat before grabbing Evren by the front of his shirt and screaming at him in draconic. While it seems strange he is seemingly trying to scare him out of the shock.
Sho glances at Onyx, then turns to look at the Talion. He sighs softly. He could see Talion is grasping, however an irrational notion, it is always easier to believe there is a straight forward solution to a confliction. “He is not possessed.” He says reassuringly, “I would have known.”
Talion stares at Sho for a long moment, then turns his gaze to Onyx. "You sure? Him being possessed is the only thing that stopped me killing him."
Then he shrugs, and grins up at the strange priest, "Live and learn, I guess." Next time, you won't be so lucky, old man.
As Sho moves off to the trap door, Talion stirs, "Let me help with that." A spectral hand appears once again, only to quickly disappear when Sho examines Ervan. Talion listens to Sho's diagnosis. "Like some of the kids back at the orphanage. They'd come in, after their parents died." He winces when the priest grabs Lucky Bear. Good instinct...not really a dog person, though.
He hurries over to the dog with a small treat, offering to rub his ears, hoping he does not bite the priest in the mean time. "Let me try."
With that he pats Lucky for a time, feeding him tiny morsels, and slowly moving him nearer to Ervan. "Let's go see the funny elf, shall we? I think he needs you."
He shuffles over to Ervan, liberally tossing pieces of food into his pockets and dropping crumbs in his hair...
(( Therapy Dog ftw! ))
As he works, he moves Ervan's weapons away from him.

As Sho backs out of the cramped stairs, Bertolt takes his turn. Grabbing Erven, he screams a bunch of rather rude insults in Draconic. As he sets him back down, panting from the effort, Erven remains unresponsive and catatonic, tears cutting rivers through the dirt on his cheeks.

Lucky Bear follows you happily. You trade places with Bertolt, who squeezes by as he sees you come up the stairs towards Ervan. Lucky Bear takes the food joyously and swallows it down. She laps up some crumbs from Erven's hair and face as well, but seems like she also got a bit of actual hair and she hacks into Erven's face.
Minus a ration from your inventory. my bad probably not enough yet for a full ration
Erven's face is much cleaner now and no tears can be seen. Lucky Bear stops to sniff around Erven, finally ending at his crotch, where she thrusts her nose and starts sniffing more. With your darkvision, you can see a darker shade spreading from under Erven's sitting form...
Talion
been about 20 minutes total now since end of fight
Talion looks down. Just like the orphanage. He sighs, and his gaze lingers on Onyx before turning to Sho and Bert. "Time is probably what he needs. Why don't we just take a short rest?"
He will stay with Lucky and Ervan, trying to coax a positive reaction from the elf, but otherwise rest.
As he sits there, he asks Sho, "Does what he described -- of his villiage -- sound familiar to you?"
During all of this, Onyx remains at the bottom of the stairs, listening, but not bothering to comment or interject in the current discussions. His feelings had been made clear, there was no further action for him to take.

Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
Sho silently sits down as well, taking a rest. He sits still, hands clasped firmly together between his legs, his knuckles turned white.
"An elven village that was turned then slaughtered?" He pauses to think for a second, looking down at his hands, "I cannot say that I have heard. Did he say how long ago it was?"
