Kraven eyes the small room and not liking the look of the dead bodies near the basin he is no way going to stick his feathered hand inside of it. However that blue gem just can;t be left behind. He will grab his rope out of his backpack and then make a small noose in it that hopefully he will be able to slip around one end of the gem and then tighten around it to pull it out.
Acrobatics: 18
He will also take his remaining empty vial and fill it with some of the water, again making sure not to touch it with his hands.
If he succeeds at all that, he will then quietly search out the hallway to see where it goes.
Not seeing the gem that Kraven is vying for, Mist peers into the basin as the vial is removed.
"I can help with that if you're worried, you know. Tricksy little halfling's always got something up his sleeve..." he chuckles and winks at the aarakocra.
Mist the shard looks familiar to you, you look at the compass and there is one already in it. There are 6 Shallow golden receptacle rings, 5 were empty, and 1 had a shard in it, they are not exactly the same, like any gem there is a difference in the cut of them, the clearifty and what, but they are the same. And if Mist were to pull the compass out it would point to Kraven.
Kraven as you walk down this hall it looks like perhaps an animal lived there, but more likely that it was a distraction to keep people away. After about 30 or so feet as the moonlight gets brighter and brighter, you come out to the edge of a cliff face, while there is a small path that you can see leading down to the beach it looks like it would take a little work to make your way to the beach, and a lot of time. You are able to see that the sun is coming up from behind you, while there is more clif face up, you can tell from the colors in the sky it is nearly morning.
"…I have never felt air this sweet!" Gintarou takes a deep breath. Then he frowns as if someone is shouting in his ear. "Hey the ghost in my head says something about the gem and the compass. It seems those two are related. Can you lend them to me? I think Magnus-dono will tell me how to put the gem and compass together."
"Waitwhat?!" Mist spins and shouts at the giant. "Exactly what do you mean my 'ghost in your head?' We're all curious what's between those ears but I'm sure as eggs is eggs you didn't let that blasted fool back there in your noggin! And you think we should put these magical artifacts in the hands of an oversized meat puppet piloted by some nefarious spirit???"
"I do not think he can go anywhere with it Mist. Kraven if you would help block off the doorway so Gintarou can not run off I say we give Magnus a chance to show what he knows about this" Aubric will move stand in the doorway.
"But do you know that?" Mist asks Aubric incredulously. "Bigman could take my head clean off if a pilfering poltergeist was in the driver's seat and I suspect he'd do the same for several more of youse before he could be brought down. How do we know we can trust him with it?"
He looks around thoughtfully. "If only we had a holy man who knew of these things..."
Gintarou scratches the back of his ear. He knows that convincing the crazy halfling may be the hardest part of this adventure. The giant kneels on the ground and bends his neck to make eye contact with the warlock. "… Listen, Mist-dono. The ghost isn't taking control of this body. I let him in of my own free will. After spending my whole life killing and injuring people, I start to think that maybe…maybe it isn't bad to help someone to rest in peace. You can believe in me. Because if I want to steal the compass, I wouldn't ask you but cut your head first. And I had a plenty of chance!"
The warrior rubs his chin and sighs. "… And I know you wouldn't be satisfied with my speech. Okay then, how about this. If you let me carry that compass… you can blast me as hard as you can if I try to run away and I will not blame you nor hit back. Furthermore When we go back to the old wiseman, I'm going to share 20 percent of my reward. What do you say? I'm not forcing you. You can refuse my offer if you're… scared."
"Hmph! Scared?! Me?? Boyo, I've faced down beasties that would make your toes curl! Scared..." Mist huffs.
After a moment he looks back up and continues. "Fine. Here. Take the blasted thing," and presses it into Gintarou's hands. He steps back and looks around at the group and wags his finger at each of them. "But don't say I didn't warn you! And if he goes crazy I'll need all of you to help bring down the mammoth!"
Appearing behind Mist Kraven speaks up, "I have my eye on the lot of you and believe me if any of you start attacking our friendly group here, I will handle them." At which point he hands the gem over to Gintarou so he can mess with the compass.
Pointing over his feathered shoulder, "The passageway back there is not long and leads out to a cliff face overlooking a beach. There is a winding narrow path down to the beach but it looks a bit treacherous. I think for the moment we are in s safe place if we want to experiment with the compass for a bit."
Druquilla flips back her hair as she brakes the surface of the water, her one regret was not letting her hair down before she dove in.
"I am perfectly contempt resting here if you want to play around with that thing," she calls out no leaving the water and instead just floating on her back. "Just inform me before we leave. Though I do agree with the little one, I do not think it was the best idea to pick up a traveler that you know so little about big guy."
"Thank you for trusting me, guys. " Gintarou smiles. He receives compass on one hand and the gem on the other hand. Then carefully and gently he puts the shard into the golden receptacle ring.

Aubric comes up gasping for air "*cough* That was very unpleasant"
Looking around the room "Lets get out of here so we don't end up like these unfortunate lads"

"Well, everything's going swimmingly". Zan hums a shanty while he searches the corpses for anything interesting.

They are long dead and nothing of interest is found.

(Anything come of messing with the compass?)
"Fat lot of good that'll do. What are you gonna do, die on him?" Mist sulks as he crosses his arms.
Sorry! Couldn't resist! 🤣🤣🤣
